Who: Ronald Knox and Kimihiro Watanuki
What: A flimsy excuse to see someone again
When: May 16, late afternoon
Where: Around places (specifically Akihabara then we'll see where we go from there)
Summary: Because someone A owes someone B a new phone... and that's always an excuse to see someone C, right? Details.
Demon wrangling had been what put nosh and a pint on the bartop back home. At least that was the case during a bad day. Ronald's encounters with demons were few and far between. If a reaper did his work properly, they'd never have to see one in their afterlife. The aftermath of it wasn't exactly something he ever thought he had to deal with. At least until today. Sorting fruit with Horikawa and his shadows in the morning, bustling about town in the earlier afternoons -- but at least he had time to make himself decent before heading off again on one more errand before the day was over. Compared to all the hard work, he had every intention of taking it easy for the rest of the day. Maybe he had kind of looked forward to this, at least that's what that niggling thought at the back of his head was telling him.
Showing up at GwanYin's temple through his shadows was becoming something he was more than used to so maybe that helped. But he was at the door roughly five minutes after stepping out his own door with a box of fruit under his arm. Thankfully he'd gotten used to transporting things along with him through his shadows otherwise carrying around said crate would have been trouble. He paused to knock, shifting the crate and fumbling with his shirt and vest to lightly tug the creases out. Even if this was just supposed to be a simple thing, there was no reason for him not to look decent, right?

"Jade is the type to stay out of someone's business unless he wants to be there." But he had a feeling the shinki thought the business of his god, unless it had to do with their purpose, was something that was "off limits". He rather liked keeping it that way, for now. He was filled with too much confusion to give proper answers if he was questioned.
"Are we... going through your shadows?"
no subject
That was certainly dark enough. Sure, the last time he tried to take three of them in, it had wasted him but he's been practicing since then. Maybe two would be easier.
With that, he held out his hand. "Coming? Or taking the old fashioned way?"
no subject
"...Okay. Let's try it out, then, I guess..." Weird supernatural shit was just part of the norm now, wasn't it? He'd just about learned that he'd never have a traditionally normal life. Weird shit just kept cropping up every day. He supposed to everything he'd seen, traveling via dark shadows was tame. He took Ron's hand, and it felt oddly warm. He tried to ignore the feeling.

"There we are." he said, finally releasing his hold. "Everything alright?"
no subject
"Whoa," He said slowly. "I'm fine... we traveled so fast, though...!" He was still leaning against him. That was fine, right?
no subject
The reaper loosens his grip however, allowing Watanuki to pull back whenever he felt ready enough to. "Brilliant though, innit? D'you see why I've picked it over walking when I'm needed somewhere?" he grinned. There was a light rub of his nose at that. Poor thing couldn't quite help but show off a little.
no subject
He straightened up, finally steady again, sliding out of Ron's arms. The young god let out a faint sigh.
"If we don't get Jade the same phone or better he'll complain about it during inconvenient times." He waved his hand, as if he could shake it off.
"Let's take a look around, then."
no subject
There was a soft chuckle though as he turned his attention back to Watanuki. "He's that sort, inhe? Bit of a picky bloke?"

"Come on. We should look around and see who has the better deal." There was a pause... before he reached out and snatched Ron's hand, yanking him forward.
no subject
He willingly accepted that hand, stumbling slightly as he was tugged before righting himself. "I'll leave it to you to find something similar to what he had, then"
no subject
"It's kind of my fault that all this happened." His smile fell a little. "...I really messed things up."

"If I have to fight ayakashi I can't just keep going in blind... I have to worry about Jade too." It wasn’t just about himself anymore... was it ever? He thought back on home for a moment. He really missed....
no subject
"M'not much of a teacher, either... more used to a knife and me scythe rather'n anything with a bit of reach..." He mused quietly. "Ever tried asking the BBS?"
no subject
He looked into a shop window, checking out the signs pasted in bright neon colors against the glass. He contemplated something for a moment.
"It's strange how unless we want to be seen no one can see us." He rocked a bit on his heels. "...Last time we got a phone, we had to flag them down right in their face. It's a wonder more of us don't steal. Maybe some do." There's a pause.
"I guess if they needed to, I wouldn't judge them for it..." He was mercy and compassion, after all. "But...
"With that being said...
"In front of people... you could get away with almost anything."
no subject
"Least it was for us back home. No one could see death 'lest we needed them to see us. S'why we could go about our business with nary a soul wondering why there were a bunch of posh blokes in suits faffing about with gardening implements." he continued with a small grin, turning his attention to the shop window. Somehow, that tiny factor that seemed to be universal amongst all beings that weren't human gave him a bit of comfort. It lessened the homesickness.
"Course, can't say the same for the sods back here. Maybe some of them steal for all we rightly know. But yeah... could prolly get away with most anything long as you don't call attention to yourself. I'd wager I could get away with snogging you in broad daylight and no one would bat an eyelash." he continued and as if to prove a point, he pulled his hand out of Watanuki's. It moved up, fingertips brushing against his cheek to tip his head up to allow the reaper to lean in and press a softer kiss against the other god's lips.
no subject
...And then there were lips on his, and he stiffened up a bit, surprised by the sudden gentle kissing bring pressed onto his mouth. Oh. Oh. They were...
...Kissing...
In broad daylight...
But no one could see them, could they? His ears buzzed with the faint swell of people's voices fading in and out... but even so, he felt lost in the moment. Everything felt... sweltering and slow.
But didn't move, didn't break from the kiss. He merely closed his eyes.
no subject
Around them no one seemed to notice. They went on their business as usual, not even needing to walk around the two as they weren't in the middle of the sidewalk. It was as if no one had even seen them.
no subject
"Why..." He asked softly. "Do you keep kissing me, Ron-san?"
no subject
"Just... feels right, is all." he continued before glancing over his shoulder with the smallest smile that seemed almost tired and almost resigned. "Could say the same for you though. Why d'you keep kissing back?"
no subject
"...I don't know." And that bugged him. He was pretty sure almost every time they saw each other a kiss became involved in some way. He didn't mean for it to. Just somehow their lips just found each other. He wasn't even trying but it kept happening.
no subject
But he stopped, tilting his head back at the other god. "D'you... want to just go on our way then? If it's too much for you?" he offered quietly, a small crease in his brow from thought. The last thing he'd want was to force the poor blighter into anything he didn't want to in the first place.
no subject
He still didn't know what he was asking.
