004 | Too Much Chocolate

Who: Everyone!
What: Passing out chocolates
When: All day March 15, 2016
Where: Throughout Japan
Summary: There is so much leftover chocolate from White Day that the Heavens have asked Far Shore residents to pass out the remaining candies to Near Shore residents.
Warnings: Content warning for: emetophobia and suicide mentions/ideation.

It is the day after White Day and, for some reason, there is a mass of chocolates left over. Oddly enough, these chocolates all appear to have been produced by the same small company: Fujisaki Confectioneries. The Heavens hate to see all of this chocolate that was meant to spread joy to the Near Shore go to waste, so they have asked residents of the Far Shore - specifically all you lovely gods and shinki - to go about Japan and pass out chocolates to unsuspecting humans, who will obviously be grateful for such a thoughtful gift, even from a stranger.

There are two problems, though, both stemming from the fact that the chocolates are 'cursed':

First, gods and shinki are prohibited from eating the chocolate and will face dire consequences if they indulge in the goodies, though the Heavens failed to mention what those consequences might be. Second, Near Shore residents are susceptible to the actual 'curse' that has been placed upon the chocolates, which turns out to actually be small ayakashi who want nothing more than to lead any Near Shore resident that they can to their death.

All gods and shinki have been tasked with this errand, including the group that have just arrived as of today. They will find themselves informed of their situation and then promptly handed a large box of chocolates and told to be on their way to pass them out.

Please remember: The only thing the Heavens have said to the gods and shinki is that they are to hand out chocolates and not eat any themselves. There is no IC information about the chocolates being 'cursed' and they seem like perfectly normal chocolates.

Chocolate Giving

Giving out chocolates might seem like a perfectly easy task, but the people of the Far Shore have always had a hard time being noticed by residents of the Near Shore. It might be difficult to catch someone's attention long enough to actually even pass them a bar of chocolate. In fact, you might have to resort to desperate measures, like stepping directly in front of them or grabbing their hand to stop them from continuing onward. How you catch their attention to give them their treat is entirely up to you, but most Near Shore residents don't particularly like being manhandled.

Dire Consequences

Unfortunately, some shinki and gods will likely give in to temptation and take a bite or more of the chocolates they've been given. Any Far Shore resident who eats the chocolates will find themselves suddenly and violently ill. They might come down with an instant fever, find that they can't control their bowels, or be overcome by intense and overwhelming nausea. The way that the sickness hits will be different for each person. Additionally, any shinki that eats the chocolate will find that they have stung their god, blighting themselves and their god in the process.

Ayakashi

The small ayakashi that were hiding out in the chocolate bars are freed the moment that a Near Shore resident takes a bite of the chocolate. These ayakashi may be small, but they are far from weak. As soon as they are free, they will take up residence on the shoulder of the person they are attached to and begin whispering ideas of death in their ears. All Near Shore residents under this influence will instantly find themselves too depressed to go on and will take immediate action to try and end their own suffering. It's best to kill the ayakashi quickly to stop the inevitable from happening.

Noisy Ayakashi

Oddly enough, some of the chocolate bars do not have the depressing ayakashi hanging out in them, but instead a different kind of ayakashi which seem to be completely alright with leaving the Near Shore residents alone. However, the moment that they lay eyes on a Far Shore resident - be it shinki or god - they will attack with a vicious fervor, obviously intending to do as much harm as possible. These Noisy ayakashi will range in size and shape from bugs all the way to small birds. Thank goodness they're not much larger, because they are harder and it seems they can only be taken down when solid teamwork is involved.

In Summary:
  • Pass out chocolate
  • Don't eat it or you'll get sick
  • Save the people you just gave chocolate to
  • Hope you have friends nearby to kill the Noisy ayakashi with
  • Try not to let anyone die
  • Have fun~

Chocolate Giving | OTA

[He just got here, he has to deal with the fact he just watched his childhood friend die and these people really want him to hand off all this chocolate to the living. The people who barely acknowledge that he's there.

The day has barely started and it's already incredibly trying. But if that's what they want from him, than he's gonna try.]

Excuse me?

[The mortal sure doesn't seem like they're aware of him.]

Ayakashi | Kacchan

[CHOCOLATE WAS A TERRIBLE MISTAKE.

In a way, the ayakashi on the person's shoulder was his fault, so it's his responsibility to get rid of it as quickly as possible. The faster it's dispatched the less damage it could possibly do.]

We need to get rid of it now!

Noisy Ayakashi | OTA

[Maybe it was just that one chocolate bar. Maybe. Hopefully-- no, doesn't seem like it. But this crow-like ayakashi doesn't care a bit for the Near Shore types, instead going straight for Deku the moment they laid eyes on him.

And normally he'd just fight it, but he doesn't know nearly enough about these kinds of threats, and at the moment it's only after him.

So he stands there, taking a few hits and learning about the Noisy Ayakashi's attack pattern]

1) Chocolate Giving [OTA]

[Going unnoticed by regular residents isn’t unusual for Hajime. It reminded her of the Amnesia Effect of her Note. Only it was always activated. Simple ‘hello’s and ‘hey can you wait a second’ didn’t work at all. But that was okay! Having to get into some people’s personal space wasn’t that difficult. She goes to work quickly, stepping in front of various people. They’re clearly startled at first until she starts shoving a free box of chocolate at their chest and rambling about it being a gift and for them to have a great rest of the day.]

Take it to your friends! There’s plenty! So much chocolate! Mmmm~!

[Other people she’s just pushing the chocolates into their hands or giving them a light bop on the head with the box before smiling and offering them. Some of the people are clearly annoyed by her behavior but accepted the chocolate all the same because, well, its free. Being a super upbeat cute highschool girl has its perks and gives her a bit of an advantage of instantly winning someone’s trust over some other gods or shinki.

But upon noticing other gods or shinki nearby she’ll casual wander over with a friendly smile]

How’s it going? Have you passed out a lot? They look super tasty, right?

2) Ayakashi [OTA]

Gatcha...!
[Hajime pants softly, one of her hands are on her knees as leans a bit to catches her breath. Idly she wipes away the sweat that drips down her face while her other hand is extended towards the mess.

The Goddess hadn’t had time to go find either of her shinki. The Ayakashi were too fast and acted to quickly. There were also so many of them that leaving would probably end up in at least a few casualties. No way! As a hero she had to save everyone. Especially since it was the chocolate they came from! So instead of going for help that section of street is glistening brightly.

The small ayakashi of various appearances are suspended a few feet in the air and bound tightly. Looking closely, it’s clear that around the multiple ayakashi is glowing shiny threads. The threads are twisted around the creatures and other objects as if Hajime had ran around with one large strand and skated all around. They go around light posts, stop signs and a number of other objects like one big cat’s cradle game.
It’s quite a sight. The people are safe though, but the ayakashi aren’t destroyed. Just bound and there's so many. She can’t hold them forever.]

3) Noisy Ayakashi --- GATCHA![OTA]

Biiiiiiird, go!

[A flash of light and there stands G-101. She made be a goddess now, but in heart she’ll always be a Gatchaman! The ability is extremely handy when dealing with Ayakashi that want to directly attack her. These ayakashi are different! Super aggressive! Hajime barely has time to zoom out of the way as multiple leap at her just seconds after her transformation.]

Over here! Over here! You’ll have to do better then that~!

[She giggles and skates off, trying to get as many as she can to follow. While they may not be looking at the Far Shore residents she doesn’t want to chance it. Zooming down the street, she zips a corner as she glances back which inevitably causes her to slam into anyone in her path. It’s a hard hit sending Hajime and the causality rolling.]

Ow… ah! Sorry! Are you okay?

[Just as soon as she sits up, Hajime looks over apologetically. Though it’s easier to tell by her tone rather than her face due to her suit masking her features.

[ You know, it's terribly rude to give someone such a large quantity of chocolate and not offer any to them! Pippa's looking none too happy at the task, actually, and she's a bit huffy as she passes out the chocolate.

Unfortunately, she also gets snubbed more than once. Yikes. ]

Excuse you! It is proper manners to accept chocolates from a lady!

[ ... Someone should probably inform her that she's being a little... um. Unladylike. ]
Ayakashi
Be quiet!

[ Pippa's yell cuts through the air, and she swats at the little menace on her shoulder. It's hard to resist, though, and-- ugh, Pippa's already died once, and it was hardly pleasant. Of course... these little ayakashi make the idea of death oh so tempting.

She puts her hands firmly over her ears, trying to block out the noise. ]

I said, be quiet! This is not the treatment I expect from you little demons, now go away!
Noisy Ayakashi
[ Okay. Well. Pippa's used to using magic, sure, and illusion conjuration is nothing new to her, per se. Unfortunately, Pippa's also never been in any sort of battle, and as a proper English lady, she's at a loss for what, exactly, to do. She definitely looks overwhelmed by the creatures, and she flaps her hands in front of her. Here and there, an illusion flickers: a knight; a young lady with golden hair and an arrow pulled tight right at the beasts; a company of goblins, poised for attack. ]

Ugh, can't you get the picture that I don't want to deal with any of you?! Away with you, now!

[ Oh. That's probably making them angrier. Please help her. ]

A: Chocolates For All

[Mikleo looks around him with open puzzlement. He has no idea where he is, how he got here, or...anything, really. All he remembers is his name, which is at least something. There are other things he remembers, but nothing about his life. It troubles him. However, for the time being, Mikleo decides to shelve his feelings and focus on the situation at hand.

Thennn he's handed a box of chocolate and given instructions to pass them out to residents of the Near Shore, but not to eat them himself. Simple enough, though Mikleo isn't too sure about getting handed a job so soon after arriving here. At least it's something to do...?

It's after trying to get someone's attention and give them one stupid bar of chocolate that Mikleo just looks at the sweets in disgust. Normally, he won't do such a thing to delicious sweets, but he feels justified in this situation.]

Honestly, what kind of job is this?

B: That Escalated Quickly

[It's weird how Mikleo feels relaxed in the face of dealing with spirits trying to kill humans through impure emotions. Then again, perhaps he can attribute it to having done combat before when he'd been alive. Either way, it doesn't really matter. He needs to help these people.

At least he doesn't have the chocolate hindering him. It's not great using a staff one-handed.

He doesn't want to hurt the people being influenced by the ayakashi. So, Mikleo decides to shoot out a well-aimed jet of water from his palm to dislodge them from the human. After doing so, he doesn't waste time in swiftly killing the spirit. He frowns slightly, absently putting a hand to his head. It feels like he's got a headache coming on, and he feels...off, somehow. He's not sure where to put his finger on what, though.

Mikleo shakes his head. Well, he'll figure it out later. Right now, he's got to focus on helping these people.]

Chocolate Giving - ota

[Unfortunately for Elsa, her natural grace and elegance no longer draw people's looks. Short of grabbing someone and dancing with them, she's not really sure what to do. Bumping into someone seems so overplayed, and tripping someone could result in injury. There seems to be no way to get people's attention that doesn't involve invading their personal space, which is rude and therefore not something she wants to do, but...

She can't exactly eat the chocolates herself. Not that she would anyway, having had her fill of Hakkai's delicious cookies before coming here.]

I guess we have no other choice. [she murmurs.

Then, shrugging, she starts walking, aiming for a head-on collision with the man coming in her direction, the same man another Far Shore resident has decided deserves some chocolates today.

It's her fellow Far Shore dweller she bumps into, which is apparently enough of a visual disturbance that the man notices them and just walks around them.

Elsa huffs and shakes her head.]
Sorry about that. Maybe we should call dibs?

Ayakashi - ota

[Oooooh this is not good. Not good at all.

Elsa can hear the ayakashi's shrill, warped voice as it talks to the girl who stopped to wait to cross the street. Her mood changes almost visibly, her shoulders slumping and her slight smile turning into a sad frown. She glances at the street light, then at the next car that zooms over the crosswalk. The ayakashi whispers to her, and her eyes fill with tears.

She's going to walk into traffic, and all Elsa can do to help her is yank her back. And even then, there's still an ayakashi on the girl's shoulder!

There's still a little time, a little hesitation in the way the girl shifts her weight. Maybe Elsa can just pluck the ayakashi off her shoulder. What's a little blight if it saves a life? Holy water isn't hard to come by, anyway...

Time to act. Elsa goes for it, reaching out to snatch the little monster off the human girl's shoulder before it's too late.]

Noisy Ayakashi - Hakkai

[Lucky she's with Hakkai when a bird-like ayakashi takes a swoop at her. Elsa dodges it, follows its flight path to make sure it isn't off to attack any humans, and shoots Hakkai a look that says she means business.]

Gouki!

[She's ready to go the moment he's a sword in her hand, but first she watches as the ayakashi screeches in the second before it begins its decent towards them.]

Now we'll get to try your new finishing line.

[The ayakashi draws near, and Elsa slashes at it with a battle cry.]

[Chocolate Giving]

[WELL HERE'S A THING SHE CAN THROW HERSELF WHOLEHEARTEDLY INTO.

Gods and shinki alike may spot Yuuki zooming past with a pile of chocolate boxes in her arms. Sometimes she's on foot, and sometimes she's using her wings, but either way she'll call out as she passes them.
]

Heeeey! Wanna come help? I've got a great idea!

[BONUS: Chocolate Retrieval!]

[This was a terrible idea.

At some point she's made aware of the actual effects of the chocolate, and. Well. There's no way she can let people eat that stuff!

Which is why,
this time, she can be found peering at an apartment complex from behind a wall, watching people go in and out. It had been easy enough to slip in there to put the chocolates in the mailboxes, but is she going to be able to get them all out okay? And what if some of them are gone-?

Ahhh, no, she can't worry about that right now. One step at a time! She'll grab the chocolates still in there and figure out which ones were taken so she can retrieve those, too!

Needless to say, if someone wants to help this highly suspicious shinki glued to the wall, it would be appreciated.
]

[Noisy Ayakashi]

What the--?!

[There's something really weird about these ayakashi! They're small, but tough-looking, and she doesn't actually have her goddess around to help her. As a result, the best she can do is take to the air, though that doesn't help a whole lot when the ayakashi can fly, too.

Darn it... She doesn't even have a sword she can distract them with!

Chocolate Giving

[Look, he tried, all right? He handed them out, he stuffed them violently into people's hands and purses, and sometimes he was forced by expediency to trip people and leave a box on them while they were down.

It's fine. They all got back up.

Axel's got a large stack of these stupid chocolate hearts left to distribute, though, and he's sick of playing the game. He's found a park bench, stacked the entire collection on it, and is hard at work on a sign reading "FREE CHOCOLATE."]

Ayakashi

[On one hand, it's not like he knows or cares that much about the kid who'd opened up her chocolate box and taken a bite right in front of him.

On the other hand, it spat out a little creature that climbed her shoulder in a flash, sank its tiny claws in, and that's got to have something to do with the fact that she went all blank-faced, turned around, and headed straight for traffic.

So it's really just because he doesn't want to get into trouble that Axel drops his armload of leftover chocolates and bolts after her.]

Dire Consequences

[They'd given Tsuzuki boxes and boxes of chocolate. Sure, he wasn't supposed to eat it, but out of that much, who'd miss one or two?

And as the god of confections, it's his duty to make sure he's not passing out any bad chocolates to anyone. That'd be a terrible fate. So he's just sneaking one box out of the huge stack, pulling out a bonbon, and -- while his shinki aren't looking -- tossing it into his mouth.

Mmm. Delicious.]

Ugh--

[--except that right after he swallows, nausea and weakness hit him like a freight train. Tsuzuki staggers, drops the box, and falls to his knees in the middle of a scattering of chocolates rolling in every direction. Oh man, he's freezing all of a sudden.

And about to lose his lunch. He swallows back bile, trying and failing to get back up to his feet.]

A. "I CALL IT CHOCOLATE LOVE"
[ Bakugou doesn't know what he died for, but is almost definitely sure he didn't die to become an errand boy and pass out chocolates. Almost definitely sure.

So he's not the most enthusiastic about this task, to say the least. Add on top of that the fact that the Near Shore residents can barely see him to begin with, and you get one (1) teenager who is thoroughly done with all of this.

Whenever he realizes somebody else is a Far Shore resident, he will prompt attempt to begin passing his chocolates onto you because no. He doesn't want to do this. You can't make him. ]

Here, take these. I don't want them.

[ And then he'll shove a box (just one, so it's not like he's passing off all his work!!) into your unsuspecting hands before attempting to make a fast retreat. ]

B. "THIS NEW SENSATION"
[ The normal ayakashi are weird looking enough, but the Noisy ayakashi are... particularly obvious in looking like bad, bad news. Plus, they actually actively attack, which is really annoying.

There's a pair of small, bird-sized ones tailing him as he darts through a neighborhood, looking for a more open area, because he has a bad feeling about starting anything on a busy street — seeing a relatively empty park, he stakes that as the time and place to suddenly turn around and declare: ]

AAAHHHHH WOULD YOU JUST SCREW OFF!!

[ ... and then he goes all or nothing and draws a line, like how he was vaguely told to earlier, and since he's going big or going home, the borderline is almost blindingly strong for a moment before dying down to a more normal level. They seem contained for now, but being brand new, he's not sure what else to do except keep a line between him and them. bakugou needs saving yet again it's just like canon ]

[Chocolate Giving - OTA]

[The problem with being someone who didn't speak much is that it was a lot harder to hand out chocolates. Even the few words that were said seemed to be falling on deaf ears. Grabbing hands was the most useful tactic for Ludger.

It didn't always end well if the handprint on his cheek was any indication.

At least most of the chocolates he had were handed out. Ludger hangs his head in semi-defeat. He might just need some assistance.]

[Ayakashi - OTA]

[The biggest indication that maybe giving out chocolate was a bad idea was the ayakashi he notices as soon as the treat was eaten. This would be easily solved if he just shot them, yet he's hesitant to do so. What if he accidentally shot the person instead of his intended target? Ludger was a good shot, but this was harder. He doesn't know much about suicidal people so this is new territory for him.

He's clearly frustrated at this point, guns in hand as Ludger weighs his option. Anyone who passes by will be stopped by him walking right in front of them.]

( i. A MEETING- OR IS THIS A REUNION? / CLOSED TO MIKLEO )

[ He has so many questions. Certainly most of them got answered but- there's just a lot more he wants to ask. However, he still has to meet with his newly shinki first.

Though, he has to wonder about himself.. who was he exactly? Was he Apollo? Or was he Sorey? Sorey feels more like- him. But he's a God, so shouldn't he technically be Apollo? Arms have crossed and a concentrated look has taken place while he waits for the arrival of his shinki. He can't really remember much. His memories.. they're far too hazy. Like looking through a window clouded by fog- he squints and tries to see, but it's too hard to distinguish.

It's a bit troubling. But, he easily has an optimistic outlook of it- when needed, he's sure he'll remember.

The sound of footsteps breaks him from thought and he turns to face the newly arrival. ]
Oh! You must be--

[ Yet, the moment Sorey turns to look to the shinki, he's frozen in place. He remembers him. Well, more like.. more than anything that Sorey has ever been certain of so far, he knows him. This person before him- it's someone he remembers so distinctively. A memory dear to him that no matter what he could never forget him. And yet the words are choked up in his throat. He can't bring himself to say it- to say anything concerning it. "I remember you." "I know you."

Instead, he's left standing there with a dumbfound look with wide eyes. He's gonna get flies in his mouth at this point. ]

( ii. MUCH NOISY COMPANY / OTA )

[ Fortunately, the sickness hasn't hit him too hard at this point. He does feel a bit hot and under the weather- quickly falling out of breath more easily than normal while he struggles to rid of the ayakashi. But, it isn't like he can relax and do nothing! If he wasn't careful- the people here.. they could seriously get hurt.

It's hard to tell whether it's the effects of the chocolate or the thought of something happening to these innocent people that makes him feel sick. He shakes it off, ceremonial sword in hand while he bats away any ayakashi he finds on sight. Fighting to rid of them.

Eyes are trained and fixed around, looking for Mikleo- his shinki. Splitting up simply to hand out chocolate was a good idea before but now he's worried he too has gotten into some trouble. However for now, with any ayakashi bothering any nearby Gods or shinki- Sorey will step in and rid of one easily, with a look of light concern to them. ]
You alright?

( iii. DIRE END TO SWEETS / OTA, tw: emetophobia )

[ It's gotten a lot worse.

The sickness that plagues him at this point is too much for even Sorey to try to fight through or cover up. His face is flush with his high fever, sweating while he struggles to lean straight up against the nearest wall. His other hand grips onto his weapon tightly- still wanting to help fight.

A sudden rush of nausea hits him and it hits him hard. His gloved hand is now clamping over his mouth with a choking gagged sound muffled through fingers. It helps for a split moment but his body collapses onto his knees and his throat locks up. His vision instantly blurs, suddenly dark as his eyes squeeze shut with the sudden sensation. He can't breathe- something about this is way too familiar to him, and that's what makes this a lot more harder.

Sorey struggles on his breath a few more times before the sickness overcomes him and spilling past lips. He doesn't fight it this time as he vomits out what he can. He heaves a few times after, and once he's sure he won't puke right after, does he have a hand wiping at his mouth. It's a good thing he doesn't really care for first impressions as a newly God. Taking only a moment to ensure he isn't going to be sick again, he finally pushes back onto his feet. ]
The chocolates-- guh.. [ Heaven hadn't warned anything about them about the chocolates being bad though- if they were, they wouldn't have given it to them in the first place, right?

He grows dizzy for a moment and stops thinking for the moment. He could use any lending hand willing to offer him help. ]

Here. Want some chocolate? [ The old woman brushes past Saitama without even glancing back at him. ]

Oi, you! Take this! [ Another person completely ignores his attempts to get their attention. ]

What the hell?

[ Saitama is exasperated and tucks the box of chocolates under his arm for the time being. He only got here (whatever here actually is) recently, and was already given some ridiculous task. How the hell was he supposed to hand out chocolates if no one would even glance at him? ]

Just take this crap already! [ Saitama takes a chocolate and throws it into the crowd of people. ]

Dire Consequences | OTA

[ Saitama sits on an empty bench with the box of chocolates in his lap. He had little to no luck in passing them out and was wondering what would happen if he just gave up. His stomach rumbles and he looks down at the chocolates on his lap. He hadn’t eaten since… when? ]

[ Slowly, he unwraps a chocolate and takes a bite. Tastes pretty good actually. ]

Hey. Wan’ a pief? [ He holds out a chocolate bar to a person nearby his bench. Mouth full of chocolate. His other hand idly scratches at the rash starting to grow on his shoulder. ]

Meeting Genos (again)

[ He looks at the scenery around him absent-mindedly. Saitama barely paid attention to the welcome message he got, so he was at a bit of a loss now. ]

Crap… how do I get outta this place?

[ He remembers them mentioning some new duties, rules, something about him being a god (what a load of crap), but it’s all a bit fuzzy. One clear memory he has was a particularly gruesome vision involving his disciple, but he shakes it off and continues wandering. ]

[ By some stroke of luck he runs in to exactly that disciple. ]

Oh! Genos! Have you found a way outta here yet? This place is full of weirdos.

A Chocolate Giving

[ When given a task, Genos commits to it. Even if it's stupid and silly one, like, well giving out chocolates. One could think that being dead, and promoted to some sort of supernatural being would mean responsible missions not sharing sweets... still someone on the team has to take the duties seriously.

So he stands there, right in the middle of the market square, and asks, and nags, and calls out, waving the stupid boxes around. It slowly dawns on him that yes, it's true, the living are not noticing him. He should stand out in this crowd like a sore thumb, but people simply not register his presence. Unless he tries really hard.

That's the point where he stop nagging and asking, and instead resorts to shoving the chocolates into random people faces, then walking away. ]

Here, have a chocolate.

[ Well, that seems to work ]

B Ayakashi

[ This isn't going as planned!! Why there are these little buggers around? At least they shouldn't be hard to dispatch them given their size, yes? He can take care of this, yes.

Genos raises his arm, and the opening on his palm starts to glow as he aims at the ayakashi on the nearest person shoulder ]

Disappear.

C Choose your own adventure?

[ If there is any prompt you want, or you want me to hit you with. Genos isn't going to eat the chocolates, but he can berate those who do. ]

[Chocolate Handouts]

[Handing out chocolate didn't sound like a particularly difficult task at the outset. But given Flynn's tendency to being unobtrusive it was proving to be hard for him. Plus people didn't notice him unless he got right in front of them which he had come to learn over the course of his attempts to complete the task given to him.

He had ended up just placing the boxes right beside people who were sitting down, mostly ones who were sitting by themselves. But if there were others he would put down the appropriate amount of boxes to match the number of people sitting on the bench.]

[Ayakashi Attack]

[This was a complete mess.

Flynn's mouth is set into a thin line as he runs to stop people from ending their lives because of the ayakashi's influence. People died, it was just a fact of life. But not like this. None of these people deserved to die because of this.

He reaches out to yank back a woman who was trying to climb over the railing of a bridge.]

Chocolate Giving

[It's a bizarre thing for them to be asked to do, but Hakkai supposes he can throw himself into chocolate distribution if the Heavens so desire.

He's wearing an apron, and he's supplemented the chocolates with several plates filled with his extra White Day cookies: plain sugar, iced neatly in glossy white, and sparkling with decorative sugar crystals. The scent of freshly baked cookies ought to draw in even the mortals who can't quite remember that he's there.

He considers the place where he's set up -- just a street corner, with a convenient retaining wall at waist height to hold the extra chocolates and cookie plates -- and wonders if he should head back to the Far Shore to pick up a tablecloth. It just doesn't look very sanitary.

A passing person catches his eye, though, and he turns, speaking before he gets a good look.]

Hello there! Happy White Day! Please accept these chocolates, or a cookie, if you prefer--

Ayakashi

[Heaven had been tricked, or Heaven was playing a joke Hakkai didn't approve of. The tiny ayakashi might be cute enough, but the people they've selected are clearly distracted, with a wild look in their eyes that frightens him.

He's shouldering his way through the crowd in the park where he'd been passing out chocolates, looking back and forth for any sign of one of the tiny creatures latched onto a shoulder or a back. His hand is drawn up against his chest, fingers already poised and ready to cut the ayakashi away from its victim with a borderline.

He's been practicing.

He's almost sure he won't take off anyone's head or arm.]

Option 1

[After the third person he'd (successfully) given chocolate to made a beeline into traffic, adorable little ayakashi clinging to them all the way- Henry began to think that there was maybe something strange about this sweets-transporting quest. The tiny critters didn't seem like a prize, but who was he to question an order? 'Deliver all this' was all he could remember being told, and then folks started dying, so this was probably the intended outcome.

Slipping the 'gifts' into people's bags turned out to be an easier method of getting rid of the things than getting anyone's attention, even if that did mean missing out on the inevitable aftermath. Which was enough of a pity that he puts in extra effort for the next person and- yeah.

There went another one.

He'd gotten so used to being ignored though, that he thinks nothing of chatting up the nearest person come to gawk at the most recent carnage. Cars are stopped, skidded in their tracks along the street, their drivers milling about the nearest unfortunate. There's at least one truck involved; if nothing else, it looks to have been quick.

Henry's tone is entirely cheerful about it.]

Hey hey, did you see what happened to their head?

Option 2

[So he'd heard some of the basics. He was a book! He was dead! He could draw lines in the air to protect himself when he wasn't busy being a book!

The latter of which seemed to be the best option when Henry was beset with loud, aggressive monsters flying at him. And, somewhat to his surprise, it worked. Sort of. It didn't actually appear to cause them any real damage, but it gave him time to flee and try to think of something else.

Or not think of anything else, as the case was, since the answer to 'how can I turn myself into a book AND attack them with myself at the same time?' was 'I guess I can't.' Which was worth a hum of thoughtfulness during one of those pauses. Despite being unsure of what to do, Henry didn't look at all worried, even when one of the ayakashi makes it through another borderline, and he's only just managing to skitter away from it in time.]

Can you turn into a weapon? Don't worry, I can totally make do--

[Looks like Henry caught sight of you noticing what was going on, and is making a dash for your direction, angry ayakashi in tow. It's entirely possible that he expects you to either:

A. Turn into a weapon that he can stab things with
B. Hold still and allow him to shove you into those those things anyway]

Chocolate Giving
[Handing out chocolates? Did sound like much of a problem to her! Although Rise's trust in the Heavens isn't all that high after that boat fiasco, she really couldn't say no to working with Hajime and Yuuki again.

And aside from that, it's chocolate! And this seems like a pretty harmless request from them.

Now if only she could get their attention. Rise got the charm ramped up to an 11, winking and whistling at any cute person that walks by or even trying to come up with a sing-song jingle for anyone else. The problem is that she might be getting one head out of ten turned her way, and that was if she was lucky. More often than not, Rise's finding people just walking by her as if she wasn't even there.

She might be dead, but goddamnit, she's still here!]

Hey you! [Uh oh, she's starting to sound rather shrill, marching right up to the last person who just past her and reaching out to grab their hand.] Take these now!

[When in doubt, take the direct approach. Although she hasn't quite thought of the consequences of just grabbing someone like this.]

Dire Consequences
[It was just one chocolate. They wouldn't notice at all, right? Right?

Wrong. It's noticeable from the way Rise wobbles on her feet and holds her head. Is she allergic or something? She was feeling fine earlier in the day, so it had to be the chocolate.]

I'm-- Erk... [She's wobbling and sweating so much she needs to prop herself up against a lamp post before she feels like she needs to hurl again.] --swearing off chocolate for life.

[Unfortunately, she's so wrapped up in this illness that the teen fails to see a purple bruise-like mark forming on her inner wrist.]

Noisy Ayakashi
[Okay, it took a little while for the sickness to die down. Actually, it took longer than Rise would have liked, because feeling sick meant that she couldn't hand out any more chocolates.

...Not that she'd want to. Who knows what they would do to the Near Shore residents.

What she doesn't notice as she drags her tired self back to Hajime's temple is the fact that she's being followed. There's an ayakashi the size of a small bird stalking her home, and it soon rushes forward to swipe at Rise's heels.

She's apologize to your ears in a moment or so, cause that is one very loud scream coming out of her mouth. Damnit, how is she supposed to get rid of this without her goddess?]

[Chocolate Giving - OTA]
[How...is he supposed to do this, exactly? Shirogane doesn't know that he's never really been a people person, but he's...never really been a people person. Trying to get people to just take this free chocolate isn't working, but he's got a mission...so he starts throwing it at people. Or, more accurately, their bags. If he can just make this shot, just land a piece of candy inside their bag...]

[Noisy Ayakashi - OTA]
[Shirogane has never been known for his ability to gauge when he needs help with anything. This is a little ayakashi, and he should be able to defeat it easily, just by crushing it, right?

Wrong. He's getting thrown back in a shower of sparks after simply trying to crush the little bug, and it really looks like he could use some help. Not that he would ever admit such a thing.]

Passing out the chocolates

[Yato has never, ever been one to pass up any paying job. And this one seems to be paying in 'gratitude from the Heavens' so that's good enough for him, no matter how much he doesn't like the way they handle things sometimes! He's also quite used to getting the attention of Near Shore residents, so he's easily sliding himself into their attention to hold out a chocolate bar to them.]

Here you go! A special delivery from your favorite god, Yato!

[Dude, no.]

What are those weird ass ayakashi?!

[It's less the regular ayakashi that catch Yato's attention and more the strange new kind that are literally nipping at his heels. Yukine isn't nearby either, so he's running away.]

HEY HEY, WHO HAS A SHINKI HANDY?! AHHHHH!!

[Help him.]

Reunion [CLOSED to Yukine]

[Having been gone for a while now, Yato definitely wants to seek out his prodigy of a guidepost! But he hasn't been able to due to the sudden job and then the persistent, weird ayakashi.

So when he does find Yukine, he slings an arm around his shinki's shoulders and grins at him.]

Heeeey Yukine! Miss me?

Chocolate giving? More like chocolate EATING

[That's right, this little fuckhead promptly ingested about five of the chocolate bars, and he immediately regrets that decision.

Find one (1) fluffy ex-assassin curled up in a ball on the ground covered in his own vomit and continuing to dry heave even though everything is already out of his system, hurk.]

Stop giving White Day chocolates to guys, everyone!

[Battler is very pleased to be giving White Day chocolates to all the cute girls he can come across, working hard to earn their attention to pass the chocolate off to them. But he keeps seeing people giving the chocolates to just ANYBODY and that is SO WRONG.

He stops the next person he sees giving chocolate to a guy.]

Hey hey! White Day is for GIRLS to receive chocolates! You're doing it wrong.

No, stop, pretty girls shouldn't want to die!

[It doesn't take long for Battler to realize that the girls who have been munching on the chocolate he gives them suddenly become extremely depressed. And then it only takes a few seconds longer for him to realize it's because of those ayakashi on their shoulders.

He can be found trying desperately to stop any young girl from offing herself on the spot, looking to whoever is nearby for help.]

H-hey, c'mon...! I can't ... I can't get this thing off of her...!

['Giving away' didn't feel like the sort of action Alluka was used to, at all. It's strange, for certain, but with no real way to figure out why this might be, it's a feeling that's quickly placed out of mind in favor of helping out with the assigned task! With, naturally, great enthusiasm!

Of course, with it being such an unusual concept, there's a little bit of a learning curve that Alluka is having trouble surmounting.]

Here! Do you want some? [To one passing set of ladies, and,] These are free! You should try them! [To an older man in a suit.

Of course, the difficulty is really only compounded by the fact that the residents of the Near Shore have a difficult time even perceiving the small shinki's presence in the first place. It doesn't feel like a slight, really, and for a while it isn't actually discouraging, but the longer Alluka tries to pass on the sweets, the more and more being ignored starts to feel like a total inevitability.

And, somehow, not unfamiliar...?

After a good, long time spent trying and failing to pass the chocolates off, timidity set in and Alluka felt the need to sort of... back off of the efforts. So, when not making valiant tries at passing off the chocolate, the young shinki can be found sitting next to a stack of them, more or less everything that had been dished out to give away at the start, looking rather contemplative. What to do, what to do...?

Better hit this one up while she's there, because after a while, Alluka will be, like Ging's son, gon, to help take care of Killua, what an idiot.]
