[OPEN] You sing the same old verse
Who: Everyone who's interested!
What: Karoake!
When: May 17th
Where: The Karoake Bar, Happy Beats!
Summary: Masaki has invited the residents of the Far Shore to Karoake, in the name of fun!
You might have seen the signs, or got the instructions on the text. It was just up a few blocks away of Cat Cafe, the Happy Beats Karoake bar. So pay the small fee (or don't!) and come on in for the party inside!
There's some finger foods inside, along with water, juice, and all sorts of liquor sold inside the lobby, where people can meet up and greet!
But don't worry. No one is singing in the lobby! Not with a screen anyway.
People can go off in groups, or find a group to sing with within the private rooms!
So sing your hearts out, or watch other people sing, poke at the touch screen selection board-or just mingle in the lobby proper. Everyone is here to (hopefully) have a good time!
This is an open mingle log, so feel free to post wherever, whenever!

Masaki was all over the place, trying to make sure that the Far Shore residents found the right place, and were situated. Seeing someone come through the front door, Masaki's eyes would light up, and she would bounce over to the newest would be karoake-er.
"Hello! Got the message?" She's all grins, rather happy to have someone join in on the mingle.
Karaoke
In the private singing areas, Masaki was a little more energetic-as in, a little more nervous then she was before. But she had the mike offered to her (or taken up) and was laughing a little about it all.
"I don't even know what I'm singing!" She didn't know most of the songs, but as the music started, she waved to one of the people, giggling. "Hey, do you know this one? Want to sing it with me?"
Wild card
If you have an idea, message me! If you're not sure let me know and we'll work with it. Can reply in any format!
Karaoke
The fact that he'd been drinking a little probably helped. His face was red and he was in a rather giddy mood, a smile spread wide across his face as he sidled up next to Masaki. "Yeah, sure", he responded, wriggling in place. "If you don't know it, just follow my lead, it's easy to follow~" He's never been to a place like this, but it was fun! He'd let Masaki keep the mic though, thinking that perhaps she'd be more steady than himself.
And yeah, he might have chosen the first song.

But she did like seeing him in an excitable mood; he seemed...happy? And that was how she liked her partner to be.
"Okay! I'll do that!" She was pretty sure whatever song he chose, she wouldn't know. But that was be all right, she was certain. She didn't know this one. It was...vague? Like she'd heard it before? But well, she couldn't remember all the words.
"Here, maybe I should stand on the couch." She was half laughing, even as she tried to get onto one so he could sing into the mike with her. Ah, what a time to notice their height difference, even as the song was starting.
no subject
It wasn't the end of the world if they missed out on the beginning of this song. They'd be able to choose another, after all, and if they found a comfortable way to share a mic, then all the better for it. "I don't want you to fall over!"
no subject
Not too much anyway. Ah well.
"I don't want you to fall over either! Okay, you sit, I'll lean, and we'll sing this together." She giggled, and leaned over, patting the couch after getting off of it. "Here, here. You can see the screen easily from here, I think!"
no subject
He was drunk, after all.
"Yeah, yeah... you got it!" He responded, taking a spot on the couch and wriggling his hips a little. "Now you can lean on me. I can take it~" Even with drinking, he was steady enough... probably.
no subject
Even if it would be a little hard to get him back home, maybe.
"Lean on you...like this?" She leaned in enough that she had one foot slightly off the ground, making her laugh. "It's not too much~?"
Were they flirting? They might have been flirting.
no subject
"No, no, never too much", he responded, chuckling and showing off by reaching around and grabbing her with one arm and lifting her up just a little before setting her down.
He was definitely flirting. "I can support you, no problem."
no subject
"Well-wah!" She jolted, and found herself plunked onto Dio's lap. Masaki found her face burning and she peered up at him. Drinking, she realized, made her god very flirty.
"Yeah, that...you can really do that." Don't think about his thighs don't think about his thighs don't think about his thighs. "The song?"

She'd only actually spoken with Masaki over text, but that's enough for her to guess who's approaching her so enthusiastically.]
Ah, hey! ... Masaki-san?
[It'd be rude to just assume!]
no subject
[She glances over, smiling. The clothing is different-she's certainly not a booth or sample or whatever girl today. But cute nonetheless, and Masaki stops (thankfully) not doing anything like pull her into a hug.
She's excited but not that excited.]
Glad you made it! Sorry, I'm not sure who you are, and I don't want to assume.
no subject
[Which means she should probably introduce herself. She smiles and bows slightly to the shorter girl.]
I'm Natsuru Senou, Lightning-sama's shinki. Nice to meet you...
no subject
[She bows back, bouncing up after a few moments.]
Your temple sounds so interesting, but~ I want to learn more about you!
no subject
Still, the comment makes her blush a little.]
Ah, well, I'm still figuring some of that out myself! I know I like music, and I'm decent at cooking, and I don't know computers very well...
[She knows more than that, of course. She's just mentioning a few things she's learned about herself these past few days.]
I think I've probably even done this before. I can't really be sure, but stuff like singing and dancing feels pretty familiar.
[Which naturally happens when a majority of your history in other worlds involves being a member of what was basically an idol group.]
no subject
Oh, neither do I! I don't even know the shortened chat speak that some people use!
[It's a comfort, to know she's not alone with that. But...huh. She's not sure if the familiarity is a good thing but...]
But that might mean you know some of the songs, maybe? Even if you don't, that's okay. I just hope you have a really fun time today.
no subject
Me either! My, um... [What does she call Pidge? Sister? Roommate? They just happen to be shinki for the same god, they don't really have much of a relationship of their own yet.] ... Lightning-sama's other shinki builds computers and robots and stuff. It's all way too much for me.
[Yeah... this is nice. She could see herself becoming friends with Masaki, if they end up spending enough time together.]
Oh, and I already picked up a bunch of music here! Especially songs by female idol groups, so I... might know some of those already.
[For some reason, she blushes a little as she says that.]
sorry for the late reply!
Whoa, computers and...robots? Robots, really?
[That's cool! And...intimidating...sorry Pidge.]
Whoa. But! Hey, great! If we play a song from one of those groups, we should be able to sing it right!
[She bounces a little on her feet, though she isn't sure why Natsuru is blushing. Strange, that.]
Did you want to pick out a few songs for us to sing together then? And maybe a few random? It might be fun!
[As in really fun. Or at least, that's the hope.]

Dio had come along with his shinki, having dressed up for the occassion, though he only half expected to meet a few more people. It was strange for him, attending something like this that Masaki had coordinated. Usually, he would be attached to her hip, but he needed to give her room to be around others. No doubt she has made many friends already, the girl being as social as she was, and Dio wasn't going to interfere with that.
Instead, he was going to check out what was no doubt a colorful selection of alcohols, choosing something sparkly with a nice color to it to start drinking. He won't be sociable until he got a good buzz going, but once his face started heating up, he was ready to chat someone up. Anyone, really.
"So", he started, leaning over to the unfortunate victim of Dio's attentions. "You already know Masaki, or are you just meeting her now?"
A Private Room
Somehow, Dio had convinced someone to join him in a private room for karaoke. They were supposed to be singing, and Dio was going to attempt to do that, even though a private, insulated room that sound couldn't really penetrate past was a very enticing thing for the inebriated vampire.
Still, he was trying to find something out, so he was planning on behaving as much as he could. And anyway, whoever had gotten roped into this with him was probably not on the same page, so he was going to just suggest some singing.
"Okay, first song is your pick. Keep in mind that I haven't been around since 1989, so I don't know this new shit", he said, as articulate as ever. Not really, he was slurring a little, but who really cares???
Lobby
"Eh? Oh... no, we've spoken before! This is the first time we've met in person, though."
Her cheeks quickly flushed, but she offered a friendly smile once she'd gotten over the initial surprise of being spoken to so suddenly.
no subject
He'd noticed her flinching at his voice, but supposed it wasn't at him as much as his voice surprising her. He could probably be quite intimidating, but he was being friendly and therefore no one could possibly be afraid of him, right? Right. That's totally how this worked.
That might be the alcohol talking. The alcohol which was a rich purple with a shimmer in a small martini glass. Somehow he hadn't spilled it on himself yet, but he also took a sip as he leaned nearer to the woman. "Ah, yes. The network! Masaki is my shinki", he bragged. Yes, he was very proud of Masaki, even if they haven't done anything yet. He knew that whatever task they had, she would rise to the occasion. "I know that you will get on with her. She is a very good young woman."
no subject
Aside from his appearance, though, he didn't seem particularly intimidating. A little friendlier than she'd like in a stranger, perhaps, but there was a light of recognition in her eyes when he mentioned being Masaki's god.
"Oh! You're... Dio-san, then?" She smiled, starting to look at least a little more relaxed. "She seems really nice, yeah."
no subject
"She is exactly as nice as she seems, though", he warned. He knew her far more than she knew him at this point, due to his memories remaining intact, but he could only build on that for now.
"And you are...?" He realized then that he hadn't gotten her name yet. How disrespectful of him.
no subject
"I see..."
She would get used to it, she just needed a moment. For now, there was another question to answer.
"Oh, I'm Natsuru! It's nice to meet you... Dio."
That still felt weird! Both because he was a stranger, and a god. Even though he wasn't her god, and most gods didn't seem to require any sort of formality as far as she'd seen.
Lobby
"I talked to her a little over the network, but this is the first time I'm meeting her in person. Do you know her well? Are you guys friends?"
