[ Sorey didn't want to ignore anyone's cry for help.
That's why he chose to answer the prayer that he did. He can't imagine what it's like - finding a parent in dire need of help as often as they were. He's not sure what words he can offer or what advice he can offer, but... he wants to try.
He looks to Mikleo, frowning a little. As of now, they're standing outside of their home, getting ready to meet with this person. ]
Thanks for coming with me for this. [ He offers quietly. ]
[ Given the situation, Mikleo wasn't much different from Sorey either in terms of wanting to help anyone he came across. It somehow seemed fitting that the two of them ended up as a pair for this prayer. It also must have been quite interesting to learn that the person you were engaging so easily with was someone you were supposed to work with.
Most people would seemed concerned or skeptical but Mikleo didn't feel all of that. Right now he was pretty okay with how things turned out. Slipping out of his thoughts he looks back at Sorey when he saw the other looking at him. ]
Huh? Oh, don't sweat it. Two heads are better than one right?
[ It's those words that prove to be comforting to Sorey. It was definitely true, and that was part of why he'd thought it was even better that Mikleo wanted to come with him. Hearing it just further reminded him of that. ]
Yeah, you're right. We have a better chance of figuring out something for them together like this.
[ He's been getting along with his God pretty well. Compared to the horror stories that he's heard about other Shinkis and their Gods, he had it pretty easy. He's definitely not going to take it for granted.
Strangely enough, the days were always rather exciting when it came to spending it with Sorey. ]
With that being said. Where do you suppose we start? There's quite a few things we'll have to look into.
[ It seemed like it was. Considering how delicate the situation was, he did agree with talking with the individuals first. Perhaps, there was something that the two of them could learn about the prayer so they could find a good a way to fulfill it. ]
Talking to them seems like the most logical choice for now. Perhaps after talking with them, we should engage with the neighbors? They might give us some insight as well.
Good idea. The more points of views we get on this- the more answers we can get for this person.
[ He offers a small smile. Mikleo sure was smart... And it seemed like they had the same ideas for this. Sorey thought that they made a rather good team together. ]
True. We'll be able to help them through their ordeal in no time if everything runs smoothly.
[ He thinks so too and with that being said, Mikleo walks casually ahead briefly to look around for anyone they could question on the way to the home. It seemed logical to gather the information as they go so that when they do reach the home of the person in question, they'll know something. ]
As of right now we know that the prayer was said because their parent was unwell.
[ Mikleo replies. It would be great if they were able to help the parent for the individual that was praying for their well being. First things first, finding out what exactly is wrong with the parent. They knew that the parent was unwell but not the specifics.
Mikleo takes a few strides ahead and engages quickly with a nearby neighbor. ]
[ The person straightens near instantly, looking to both Sorey and Mikleo with a rather pleasant smile. At the least, this person definitely seemed friendly... ]
We were wondering if you can tell us about the family that lives in that building. I heard that the individual's mother has been constantly ill. We were asked to give them a hand in the mean time but we're not certain what exactly has happened. If you could provide us with any insight at all, we'd appreciate it.
[ It might have been a mouthful but that was the best he got without sounding like he as some sort of creepy stalker. It seemed better to be honest about it than try to mask the truth. ]
[ Sorey awaits an answer before the person in question blinks a little, raising an eyebrow. ]
... Didn't you hear me? How can I help you?
[ Sorey looked at Mikleo for a moment before his expression turns apologetic, and then to the stranger again. ]
Sorry-- I was just wondering, could you tell me anything about the family that lives next door? The mother's been sick for a while, and I wanted to help in any sort of way I could. Can you tell me more about it?
[ Mikleo look a little confused. Did he note speak to him directly. The shinki opened his mouth to speak again but he stopped short and realized that Sorey was looking at him strangely.
He didn't expect that to happen, though it didn't make him feel bad or anything. He's used to being not seen This was a typical case of it. He supposed this was the limit of Shinkis. ]
Oh the family next door! [ The individual takes a moment to ponder before speaking. ]
The mom was a work-a-holic. She worked day and night to take care of her child. Due to some of the overworking she got sick. I heard that she wasn't always with good health to begin with. Now she's gone and gotten herself put in the hospital and hasn't woke up since.
[ Sorey's expression turns grim then. So, she'd overworked herself.... It makes sense if she had bad health, but at the same time, Sorey can't help but want to do more for this family than just this. ]
... I see. Does the family have any other means to earn their finances?
[ Mikleo seemed a little sad as well upon hearing the information. He crosses his arms and closed his eyes, trying to think of what else they can do to help this woman. She's not in good health so it means they can try to do something that will help her get better such as medication for her illness or any other remedies that might give her health back. ]
Not that I know of. I know that the child works hard but they're only so experienced they've been having a rough time as well due their mother being so bed ridden. It's never easy for a family with one parent. There's only so much we can do for them.
[ It's then that he looks to Mikleo, quietly nodding his head before looking to the stranger once more. He says good bye to the neighbor before making his way back to where they could talk privately. ]
[ The neighbor mused with a small gesture and a smile before they went on their way.
Mikleo looks back at him with a hand under his chin as the person continued to tell them what they knew. It seems like the situation is much more dire than the initial prayer.
Eventually he follows Sorey quietly over to the side. ]
[ So far what they got from the neighbor wasn't much at all so it made him ponder. ]
They're suffering financially because of the mother being hospitalized and unable to work. So that does make the living situations even harsher. I wonder if we can get donations or anything that might be given to the family.
[ Mikleo was really thinking aloud but it was something that came across his mind. ]
If we can get enough donations to cover her for her time in the hospital, we might be able to alleviate the stress. However, we're not certain how long she's going to remain there or how much in terms of donations we'll need.
Donations is a really good start! [ He compliments Mikleo easily. It's a good idea, really. He'd like to try it. He's sure if others knew the situation, than they'd be able to get donations with little problem. ]
And... it's likely the quickest way to get the funds that they need. But, you're right. we'll have to figure out a way to gather more money that they'll need in the future, too.
[ They could get jobs, but... that isn't exactly speedy, either. But, what about odd jobs? Small ones that could earn them money quickly. ]
[ He wasn't expecting Sorey to compliment him for that out of the blue so he's a bit embarrassed but he quickly covers it up for the more important conversation at hand. ][ Getting jobs would work but how long would they have to work and how would they go about doing that with their God and Shinki duties as well. Mikleo continues to ponder on it. ]
Small jobs? You mean like odd jobs that people require assistance for right? That can work. There are a lot of odd jobs we can do.
Exactly! [ Sorey nods his head with a wide smile. The more ideas they have, the better - and both of these ideas is likely to help out in the long run. ]
If we both take on some jobs like that, then it'll help us make even more money after we collect donations.
Though, we're not sure how much work we can get in the mean time. We should try to see how much work we can do. Such things like these aren't consistent. Some days we might have work and others we might not. Though, the challenge of finding work is motivating, don't you think?
[ Since such jobs are odd for that reason. Though, Sorey was very happy about being able to do something so he's happy as well but it still means that there will be hiccups and complications along the way but he wasn't the type to give up on a challenge so he was definitely on board. ]
