014 | A Whole New World
Who: Everyone!
What: Exploring the world
When: All day June 26
Where: The Near Shore (All Over)
Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!

The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.
Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.

Meeting Hall
- The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.
Locals
- Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.
Flyers
- They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.
Destruction
- Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.
Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

In Summary:
- Explore the world
- Get to know your homelands
- Investigate insurgents
- Deal with a riot
- Save Amaterasu
- Have fun~

[Sora looks a little disappointed ... ]
I'm helping with a mission from the heavens with Kairi and Goten where they need us to get some more information about what happened on White Day. Do you know if anything bad happened that day? I wasn't here till the end of March.
no subject
The event you're talking about did stem from something that occurred on the 14th, but it wasn't until the next day that anything came of it. So yes, I know what happened. I should still have some samples from it, in fact.
no subject
Samples? Samples of what? What happened, Add? Can you tell me?
1/2
[He pauses, folding his arms and looking very thoughtful for a moment. Well, of course he'd want to help his good pal Sora...]
2/2
I don't know, I've answered a lot of your questions already today. Didn't you say that was the last one?
no subject
[Sora looks exasperated and offended.]
Come on, this is important! It could help answer some other questions about what's going on around here!
no subject
You think I don't keep track of current events myself? I probably know more than you do, so there's no point in asking a question like that, kukukuku.
You asked me all kinds of questions about my past, but you haven't told me anything about yourself. Why don't we start with that?
no subject
If you know more than I do then you gotta tell me!
[Is this pay back for the sunlight jokes?]
Okay, I guess that's fair. What do you want to know about me then?
no subject
Hmm. [What does he want to know about Sora, though? He's not exactly the most enigmatic person out there...]
I've told you plenty about Elrios, so tell me more about the world you came from. What sort of place was it?
no subject
[Sora crosses his arms. He's still a light god on a mission here.]
My world is a place called Destiny Islands. It's mostly water but has a bunch of small islands clustered together to make our town. Tropical weather all year long and lots of fishing and swimming.
It's nowhere near the size of what Elrios probably is, but it's home. A lot of the other worlds I've been too are a little more big and exciting.
no subject
You said you did a lot of dimensional traveling before, correct? A small tropical island town doesn't really sound like the kind of place that would have such technological advancements. Is dimensional travel common where you're from, or is there some other reason...?
no subject
Well for a long time our world's door was locked and no one left or came much. When I left it was because my two best friends had a gummi ship, I think I told you about those once.
I can just dive between worlds on my own sometimes but it's a little rocky and not as safe.
[Poor Sora doesn't have cool keyblade armor like Terra, Ventus and Aqua yet. Please KH3. Please.]
I think it's pretty common? At least I know a lot of people who do it? There were a bunch of worlds that were in danger so we had to hop worlds to try and help them all out.
no subject
He frowns at Sora's comment about diving between worlds directly. He definitely has experience with that kind of thing, but—] Vessels such as your gummi ship were created for a reason, I'd hope you're at least wearing a protective suit or something if you're jumping between dimensions on your own. There are energies in those timespace gaps that humans shouldn't be exposed to, you can get yourself sick or killed that way. Once you get infected by something like that it's not a simple task to cure it. Not to mention that you could get lost or trapped, without any kind of protection you wouldn't survive more than a few minutes...
[Not that he's concerned or anything (he might be trying to run a subtle bioscan from his dynamos to check if Sora has any weird timespace mutations, just don't pay attention to any of those weird lights they're giving off).]
no subject
They usually are all separated. But since a lot of them were attacked by creatures called Heartless the worlds opened up and me and my friends had to travel between each one.
[Sora laughs and smiles. If he's guessing right, Add's worried about him doing dives.]
I've only done it a couple of times, promise! I'm not really supposed to- [Sora pauses at those weird lighty things.] Hey- What are your cubes doing?
no subject
A small purple holoscreen opens up next to him, so instead of answering Sora's question he scrolls through the information readout.] Hmmm, there don't appear to be any high readings of spatiotemporal radiation... you should consider yourself lucky. Even a small amount of exposure can develop into something deadly if left unchecked.
Don't do that anymore. [and he points at Sora sternly just to drive that scolding in.]
no subject
You really think I could get sick or lost? [Sora has to lean over to try and peek and read everything on the holoscreen. A lot of it is mumbo jumbo to him, though.] I never felt any different after I landed though? Still the same ol' me! Maybe I'm immune to spatio...tempo... rations.
no subject
It's not something you'd notice right away, it can take months to manifest into something visible. Anyway, you still shouldn't be doing it. If you need to move between dimensions that desperately, get a proper protective suit. [He taps the crystal on his chest lightly. Y'know, like the weird getup Add always wears.]
no subject
How am I supposed to get a suit for that, though? [He really needs that keyblade armor gosh darn it.] Well... I guess if I start feeling sick or start growing extra limbs or something I'll let you know.
[Then he grins at Add and pokes him in the shoulder.]
My turn now?
no subject
[Correction: he is definitely running some extra scans now, since apparently he might want to have Sora's measurements on hand. Just in case.
He makes a bit of a face at being poked, but there's not much point in continuing this line of conversation right now anyway.] Fine. You wanted to know more about White Day, right? Was there anything specific you wanted to know?
no subject
Yeah, yeah. Don't do it again unless I get a protective suit, it could take a while before I know if I'm sick from it or not. I got it. It's not like I can dive right now, anyway.
[He's being dismissive but he really will think twice about it if he does have to dive again. Don't worry so much, Add. It'll make your hair turn... oh wait.]
I heard that the White Day chocolates had something wrong with it. What was bad about it?
no subject
The chocolates were filled with ayakashi. Any gods or shinki who ate them became immediately ill, and the humans who accepted them would unknowingly release the ayakashi and be driven to suicide by them. It was a complete mess. There was no doubt a mortal body count by the end of it as well.
And the reason why the Heavens should know enough about it is because they were the ones who asked everyone to distribute the chocolates. Apparently their security is so lax that anyone can just bring in a bunch of contaminated chocolates from a fake business and no one knows how to check if they're dangerous or not. It's a wonder they can get anything done with that kind of stupidity.
no subject
As much as Add's comment about the heavens is harsh, Sora has to somehow agree.]
I didn't know it was that bad. I just thought maybe it was something like the Cherry Tree Festival, then again that festival went badly in the end too. [A pause.] Did you eat any of the chocolates, Add?? Did you get sick?
[Since he knows how much his friend likes chocolate.]
no subject
Well... there's no point in pretending he didn't eat the chocolates. He sighs.]
Of course I ate them. What kind of scientist would I be if I did experiment with the materials I was given? [yeah, that's right, he ate them for science and not because he is weak willed against the power of chocolate!!] The nausea lasted for almost an entire day. Highly unpleasant. Though it's not too surprising now that I know the reason why. [ayakashi don't look very edible under normal conditions, after all...]
Anyway, I should still have a few boxes left. I think I saw them somewhere after everything was moved to the new temple...
no subject
[Sora likes the Heavens. He knows they've been making a lot of mistakes and how upset everyone is but he has to take the high road and be optimistic. They're here for a reason, aren't they?
Then Sora gapes at Add before he grabs his shoulders and shakes him.]
You still have some left? Add, if they're full of ayakashi you shouldn't keep them! You should give them to Ammy's advisers to study! And don't eat any more of them!!
[Of course Add didn't eat more of them but Sora has to be sure, okay?]
