Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!



The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.



Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Destruction

Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.

Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

[SIGH sora please...] Did you listen to anything I just said?

[Correction: he is definitely running some extra scans now, since apparently he might want to have Sora's measurements on hand. Just in case.

He makes a bit of a face at being poked, but there's not much point in continuing this line of conversation right now anyway.] Fine. You wanted to know more about White Day, right? Was there anything specific you wanted to know?

[Obviously Add is much more concerned than Sora is about space travel and its side effects. Diving seemed fine at the time and he's not falling over from spatiotemporal radiation so he's probably good for now. Right? Right.]

Yeah, yeah. Don't do it again unless I get a protective suit, it could take a while before I know if I'm sick from it or not. I got it. It's not like I can dive right now, anyway.

[He's being dismissive but he really will think twice about it if he does have to dive again. Don't worry so much, Add. It'll make your hair turn... oh wait.]

I heard that the White Day chocolates had something wrong with it. What was bad about it?

[He's not worried!! He's just angry about how irresponsible Sora is, that's all!!!!]

The chocolates were filled with ayakashi. Any gods or shinki who ate them became immediately ill, and the humans who accepted them would unknowingly release the ayakashi and be driven to suicide by them. It was a complete mess. There was no doubt a mortal body count by the end of it as well.

And the reason why the Heavens should know enough about it is because they were the ones who asked everyone to distribute the chocolates. Apparently their security is so lax that anyone can just bring in a bunch of contaminated chocolates from a fake business and no one knows how to check if they're dangerous or not. It's a wonder they can get anything done with that kind of stupidity.

[Sora's expression falls at Add's explanation. Well, that's a lot darker than what he'd been expecting. People being driven to kill themselves? Gods and shinki getting sick? How awful...

As much as Add's comment about the heavens is harsh, Sora has to somehow agree.]

I didn't know it was that bad. I just thought maybe it was something like the Cherry Tree Festival, then again that festival went badly in the end too. [A pause.] Did you eat any of the chocolates, Add?? Did you get sick?

[Since he knows how much his friend likes chocolate.]

They keep claiming that they've increased their security, but I've yet to see any results of that. What happened at the cherry festival is further proof of their incompetence. [Add really isn't fond of the Heavens.

Well... there's no point in pretending he didn't eat the chocolates. He sighs.]

Of course I ate them. What kind of scientist would I be if I did experiment with the materials I was given? [yeah, that's right, he ate them for science and not because he is weak willed against the power of chocolate!!] The nausea lasted for almost an entire day. Highly unpleasant. Though it's not too surprising now that I know the reason why. [ayakashi don't look very edible under normal conditions, after all...]

Anyway, I should still have a few boxes left. I think I saw them somewhere after everything was moved to the new temple...

[oathkeeper]

I wonder if there is any way we can help with the security. I mean, there are a lot of strong gods around here and shinki too. Maybe Ammy just doesn't know how to ask or set us up to help her out.

[Sora likes the Heavens. He knows they've been making a lot of mistakes and how upset everyone is but he has to take the high road and be optimistic. They're here for a reason, aren't they?

Then Sora gapes at Add before he grabs his shoulders and shakes him.]

You still have some left? Add, if they're full of ayakashi you shouldn't keep them! You should give them to Ammy's advisers to study! And don't eat any more of them!!

[Of course Add didn't eat more of them but Sora has to be sure, okay?]

[subtract]

[Add makes a displeased squawk at the sudden and unexpected shaking. He grabs at Sora's wrists to try and free himself.]

Would you stop that?! I was studying them myself! Amaterasu's advisor's couldn't figure them out when they got them the first time, why would I trust them to do a proper examination? And of course I didn't eat them, I'm not stupid!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora stops shaking Add but he doesn't let go. He droops his head and sighs in relief.]

Just making sure.

[Then he looks back up, a little concerned still.]

You should get rid of them, what if the ayakashi in them somehow get out and hurt you or Jakob?

[subtract]

[He's still a bit dizzy even after the shaking stops, maintaining his counter-grip on Sora's wrists both to stabilize himself and to continue making a sad attempt at freeing himself. It's hard to tell, though, considering his physical strength...

He scowls, slightly annoyed at this attitude.] They're perfectly safe where they are! This is hardly the first time I've stored dangerous materials, you know. I know what I'm doing.

[... and he'll just conveniently forget about that time his storage lab had a breach that nearly unleashed a genetically altered hyper-aggressive parasite on the world. yep. that's definitely not important or relevant right now, for sure.]

Do you want to see them or not?

[add do you have wet noodles for arms Add keeps trying to do something to Sora's wrists and Sora looks a little puzzled. But eventually Sora does let go of Add because of his sudden exasperation for Add storing dangerous materials in general.]

Add, one of these days I better not get a call about needing a hand with something bad that got loose, okay?

[He's more than be willing to come save his friend, but still. If Add is allowed to be fussy about Sora's space travel habits then Sora's allowed to be fussy about Add keeping dangerous materials around. It's only fair.]

I do want to see!

[subtract]

[wet noodles would be stronger He sighs when he's finally released, pausing to straighten out his jacket before answering Sora with a scoff.] Of course not, Jakob and I could handle a few measly ayakashi. [let's also not think about how much trouble he had hitting a stationary target at near point-blank range before, or how he's yet to actually fight any ayakashi since becoming a god...

But anyway, he did put off studying those samples for quite some time. Maybe it's worth taking another look into if the Heavens are interested now. Hmmmm.]

I'll have to dig them up later, then. If there are enough pieces left in good condition you can have some. I'm sure the Heavens would appreciate having some samples to work with since they're likely too incompetent to have saved their own.

[oathkeeper]

[Oh... Add.... Just... Oh, Add.

He still doesn't know exactly why the heavens seem suddenly interested in the events that happened on White Day again. Sora had taken up this job to help Goten and Kairi. But the answers he's found out makes him think he should do a little poking around himself.]

I guess you're kind of right. But thanks, it'll be good to have some of them to pass along.

[Now that that's over with Sora stands up suddenly and stretches.]

Well? Are you gonna show me around this place, or what?

[subtract]

[He stares up at Sora with a slight frown, remaining on the steps for now.]

There's not that much to see. Yours probably looks about the same... [and his assigned god is obscure here, so it feels pretty generic. The Norse weren't big on building temples, either.]

... although, I suppose you haven't seen the real temple yet. [If you can count a bunch of illusions as "real".]
