The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[Izuku's good at noticing things. That's always been true. Ever since he took up an interest in heroes he kept books about all the pros and the benefits and drawbacks to each of their quirks.

However, he's not sensitive to any shifts in the time continuum.

When he wakes up today he can tell a few things, mostly he's taller than he used to be and he feels... older?

He'll be around the Heavens checking on people.]

So... This is definitely not normal. Are you doing okay?

[Unfortunately, for everybody the next day brings a very stressed, lost child. He's doing his best to keep it together, but he looks like he's right on the brink of crying.]

Wh...Where are we...? How do I get home...?

[ The little girl nods. Strangers checking up on her doesn't seem especially strange. After all, the world revolves around her! ]

There's a castle here! And rides!

Do you want to come play?

[That's not how the world works, and maybe she should be a bit more warry of strangers.]

You found a castle?

[He shouldn't actually be surprised, there are so many different temples here. A castle isn't that weird.]

[ Oh boy.

Shouto is pretty sure he doesn't have much experience with people other than Izuku crying, so his responses tend to be tailored to his god/best friend/boyfriend more than anything else. But in this case, Izuku is. Small. Very small, actually. They're both the same age, but he's a tiny thing in comparison to even him, and he wasn't the biggest kid around until puberty started to kick in.

But his immediate instinct to Izuku's distress is to try and make it not happen, so he holds his hand out to him. ]

It'll be okay. I'll take you home. [ And hope you turn back to normal. ]

[Izuku has a lot of experience with people in distress, but he usually sees that when he's the one trying to fix things. Not to mention he doesn't remember any of that right now.

He rubs the back of his hand against his eyes like it'll do anything to stop him from crying. But he'll also take the offered hand.]

You promise...?

[The bright side that, while he's lost, Izuku happens to be lost by the school, and a small figure watching from one of the higher windows realizes that he's another lost kid.]

[So, as one does when they spot a kindred spirit, he opens the window and starts to throw rocks in his direction. His aim is pretty good, but he's just trying to get the other boy's attention, not beam him in the head.]

[Izuku's trying very hard not to cry but he notices the rocks being thrown at him and yelps.]

S-Sorry!!

17th

[Though Maria appears to be in her mid-teens at best right now, her hair much shorter and fluffier and in the kind of neatly designed dress a dancer might wear, her mind is intact, and she can't ignore the sight of a scared child.

With her soulless shinki, a young woman with dark hair in a bun and wearing a yukata, walking behind her at a respectful distance, Maria approaches the upset boy with a reassuring smile.]

We're in the Heavens. I'm afraid we're still working on how to get people home, but I'm sure it won't be a long wait.

[He's bunching up the bottom of his shirt like it'll help calm him down.

It doesn't.]

The Heavens? ... D-does that mean I'm dead?

July 16, also I'm not sorry

[ Who is that knocking on the church door so early in the morning? Still sleep addled, a blanket wrapped around her (a proper lady would never answer the door in her night clothes, after all), she cracks open one of the doors, looking out and looking up. ]

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure that we have any extra beds here. You may want to try somewhere else.

[ That nest of hair, he has to be some kind of squatter looking for a place to stay, right? Goodbye, friend, she's going to start closing the door.

She hasn't grown into being a morning person yet, but at least she's trying to be helpful? ]

He probably should've waited to do this until later in the day. Nobody runs on the same really morning nonsense that he usually does.]

[Where Izuku is tiny, Roxas, well, he's the opposite end of the spectrum. But even with how little this future superhero is, that green hair is recognizable.

Hope Izuku doesn't mind an kneeling down and smiling at him.]

Are you lost?

[He's a bit skittish, but he'll only take a few steps back before he speaks up.]

Uh..uhuh... I don't know where my mom is...

[Her investigation efforts not meeting with much success yesterday, Naoto tries again on the 17th. Today feeling a little more and comfortable than she had been yesterday. The initial shock and strangeness of her more adult body now having largely faded.]

[She spots the familiar looking child who appears distraught and on the verge of tears. Feeling sorry for the little boy, she approaches to try and help him out.]

Excuse me. Are you alright?

[She crouches down closer to the boy's eye level. Her smile is sympathetic and warm as she tries to comfort him.]

What's the matter?

[herofan]

[He's trying to wipe them away, but he can't help a few of them spilling. He's a very small child dropped in the middle of the Heavens and wondering how he gets home.

But Naoto looks like a nice police lady so he'll nod.]

I-I'm not hurt or anything, Miss!

But I don't know how to get home...

[This is clearly Barry Goodman speaking to you, Izuku. But he's seven years younger, forty pounds lighter, his hair is grown down to his shoulders, and he's wearing a heavy metal t-shirt instead of his usual magical girl branded gear.]

[Although Suijin is in a hurry, her ears are sensitive to the trembling words of a child near her. She is a god of motherhood, after all.
It takes her only a moment to find him, and only a moment more to recognize him. Not approaching too closely yet she crouches down and calls him by his common name, gently and calmly.]

Izuku. You are being very brave, trying to find the answers on your own. Please, won’t you come here and ask me your questions? I am Suijin, and although you may not remember it, we have met before.

[From beneath her long veil she extends one white-painted hand and she smiles at him kindly.]

[He does not recognise her in the least, but he does perk up when he uses his name. If she knows his name, even if he doesn't remember her right now, then that probably means they really have met. Maybe she's a friend of his mom's? He doesn't remember any hero friends around the house but maybe they're distant friends?

He'll make his way over, even if it's a bit slow.]

M-my name is Izuku and... I'm looking for my mom. Have you seen her?

You're lost?

[This is an eight year old child here looking at him with worry, before trying to reassure him.]

I was lost, too, but there's a lot of nice people here. They'll help! And I'll help you, too!

[She doesn't need his lift thread to recolonize the teeny tiny bitty Izuku. Nope. Not with that unmistakable curly mess up green hair.]

Dekukukuku-chan!

[She's there. Just suddenly there with little to no warning, smiling brightly with her cheeks practically glowing. What a cutie! Everyone is so cute but this little pre-hero bitty izuku practically takes the cake. The only thing that keeps her from grabbing him and smooshing him against her chest is the fact that he looks ready to cry]

ah, what's wrong Dekuku-chan?

[Kairi is skipping along with a few flowers in her hand when she sees him so upset. She wanders on up and offers him the little bouquet.]

Here you go. Don't cry.

[She smiles for him.]

July 16 - Adult Kairi

[She smiles at him when he approaches her. She's on her way back to Artemis temple just now from Lakshmi's.]

[Her mind was somewhere else completely just now. So maybe she wasn't smiling at him.]
