Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Various Temples!

[Souma hasn't really grasped what's going on, but the best way for him to handle stress is to overwork himself! So, with the chance of cleaning laid out right before him, he jumps on it easily. It's a great way to keep his hands busy so his mind doesn't have to panic, and so with a newly serious air about him, he ties his apron and adjusts the white bandana he's put on over his hair, grabs a bucket of cleaning supplies and a mop and runs out the doors.

He knows no bounds, so be it old abandoned temples with danger or the very-inhabited temple that your god or shinki may happen to be lounging in right now, Souma bursts in and immediately begins to clean.

On top of his home invader cleaning, he's not exactly quiet.]

Hyah! Kyaaahhh! Take that! [He's defeating dust and smudge and grime alike with such enthusiasm that he hasn't noticed anyone else in the room. Watch out, you might get a mop handle waved a little too close to your face!]

Dinner time!

[Souma's hard work doesn't stop at dinner. There's so much food, but he's managed to find Heaven's kitchen to help out as well! The great news is he's a wonderful cook, so as he tiredly brings out another dish to your character, it's guaranteed to be delicious, so long as they like Japanese cuisine!

He does look a little flushed, though. Is he pushing himself too hard? Probably.]

H-here you are! Please, help yourself! Allow me to clean away these empty dishes cluttering the table...

[As he picks up the stack, he balances and manages them quite well until it all becomes too much and he falls over himself a few feet away, sending dishes flying.] Uwah!

[ What the hell bro, she was cleaning here first?! IS THIS SOME WEIRD GOD/SHINKI RITUAL AND NOW THEY MUST DUEL OVER THE TERRITORY TO CLEAN?!

IS THIS BATTLE ROYALE WITH BLEACH AND WINDEX?!

So many questions, so little time. And now she has a mop in her face. ] E--- excuse me--!? [ She's more baffled than upset though. She doesn't know what just happened. ]

[kendont]

—Ah!

[Souma pauses in brandishing his mop weapon to pull it back towards himself, startled. A bit of color flushes into his cheeks, and he quickly bows his head in apology.] Please forgive me! I was so determined to fight off the filth in every room I could find that I did not think someone could possibly be here fighting this battle with me!

Are you hurt?

[miraculo]

[ ...Ah. Now she understands. It's a battle not between them, but against all that is dirty and soiled! ] --No, not at all.

In fact-- quite the opposite! [ She grins, putting a hand on her hip proudly. And with her other one, she points confidently at him. ] Because you and I-- we think alike. Tackling each and every room to ensure that the heavens are cleaned, ensureing that each and every spot is-- er, spotless! Polishing every corner, sweeping up every inch of dust, and organizing everything alphabetically and by color in each room...! [ Okay maybe that last bit is a bit excessive, but she continues: ]

If you will join me-- [ She holds out her broom to him. ] Together, we will fight against this dirt! This is a battle of the gods...! [ Sanae might have missed the entire memo. ]

[His shoulders relax considerably when he realizes that he hasn't harmed this girl. In fact, she goes on to speak with such confidence that he's completely captivated, in a way...! Slowly, a determined grin falls into place on his own face.]

Such words are truly inspiring! Yes, it is true that I am doing my best to play my part in this war against dust and dirt. While I may not understand much, I believe that this much is clear!

[He reaches out to grab the end of that broom, even if he's still holding a mop in his other hand.] This enemy must be defeated!

[Guess who isn't doing any cleaning and is taking selfies with her phone instead? Sheryl.

She happens to be sitting on a full box, one leg crossing over the other, while Souma is busy with his enthusiastic cleaning when suddenly there's an incoming mop handle near her face! Thankfully she looks away from her phone just in time to notice the handle and duck her head down, shielding it with her arm.]

What is wrong with you?! Watch where you're aiming!

[Time to glare daggers at Souma while she's in this position, yup.]

[He's so startled by someone else's voice that the mop whips back around, nearly hitting her on the way back, as well. He misses, thankfully, and he's left dropping it in a clatter to the ground as he scrambles over towards her.]

Ahh! I had been so involved in my cleaning that I hadn't noticed— please, forgive me! No! To ask for forgiveness after nearly hitting a woman twice is insolence! I will atone for my sin by committing seppuku—!

[He even reaches for his katana as he desperately apologizes. HE'S SORRY!!!]

[Sheryl quickly gets up from the box to take several steps back because like hell she's going to keep that seat when that guy keeps swinging his mop around.

So he scrambles over to her, dramatic apologies out of himself, and suddenly— is that a katana?]

[Wait, he's reaching for it. IS HE GOING TO STAB HIMSELF WITH IT? WHAT]

KYAAAA!

[Guess who's screaming in horror right now? Guess.]

Don't you dare harm yourself in front of my presence, you idiot! YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!

[ Luckily for the both of them, Reiji isn't jumpy enough to kick Souma out of Izanagi's temple immediately. The sound of the door opening has him descending the stairs in case it's Souji who had come back - but it isn't, so he just stands on the stairs to watch. He's donning a pair of earphones plugged into an old iPhone, and he slowly approaches with slight curiosity while bobbing a little to the music being piped into his ears. ]

Hey, Uh... did Souji invite you here?

Hyah! Seeeiiyah!

[Hmm, he's so involved in cleaning that he hasn't noticed Reiji just yet. He swings his mop like a weapon, but still is somehow managing to clean the floors quite well? Just, as he turns to get ready to do this side, this man is right there, blocking his way!]

Uohh! [Looking startled, he quickly bows his head in apology before he resumes mopping a little more tamely.] My apologies, but I am not familiar with any Souji-dono. I am going temple to temple cleaning by order!

[heiring]

[ Cleaning by order... that's a little strange. But this guy seems to be so into it... ]

If you mean the Heavens' order, I think we were supposed to clean only the Heaven Hall? Or did someone else send you here?

[ There could be a mix-up and he didn't want to waste the other's time. ]

This is Izanagi's temple, by the way! What's your name?

[ Naruto was so bored. He had even given up on dust and he was now sitting on a tree, poking a cobweb with his feather duster. The spiders didn't even seem to mind this... In fact, they seemed to enjoy it, as if Naruto's feather duster was actually giving them a massage. At least someone was enjoying themselves with this!

So when Naruto hears a familiar voice yelling at something at the nearest temple, he perks up. That sounds... not boring?! He jumps quickly, ninja style, and lands on the rooftop. There seems to be an open window and the voice comes from there! So he peeks, upside-down. Wow ninja! Much sneaky! Who is this person who seems to be so excited? Are they doing something fun that obviously can't be cleaning? So many questions, but he's ready for answers. And his feather duster is, too! ]

[Souma is cleaning, but it may not look like it. The way he spins with his cleaning supplies seems more like a dance, or even combat! He continues to call out as he does.]

Seiyahh! Take that! [Along with the slowly growing smile on his face, it seems that Souma is filled with energy! One particular spin sends dust flying as he takes it down and finally his eyes catch something in the window.]

Who goes there? [He wipes his forehead with a free hand, leaning closer to try and see.]

[ Seeing Souma with such energy is great! Naruto himself was cranky because his true skills were being wasted in this mission and the work was the worst, but Souma... Souma doesn't seem to be working at all!! Why didn't he think of that? Ditching work to train while brandishing his feather duster as a weapon, as if he were cleaning in case someone came to check... Souma is a genius! ]

Heeey, Souma!! It's me, Naruto!

[ He's still upside down! Maybe he should do something about that, but Souma is leaning close and he can't really jump inside without kicking him in the face or bumping heads, can he? Well, he's not in a hurry to be with his feet on the floor anyway. Ninjas can take this much! ]

Dinner

[Barry loves Japanese cuisine. There's a big smile on his face as the food gets delivered.]

Hell yeah, miso ramen! Smells great!

[He's already slurping his noodles loudly by the time Souma's stack of dishes comes tumbling down.]

Hrk...!

[And yeah, now he's half-choking on a noodle caught partway down his throat.]

N-no! I have only created a mess where so many have worked hard to clean it!

[He'd help this poor stranger with his noodle conundrum if he knew any better. Sadly, he's in a pile of broken dishes and food on the floor, flushed and exhausted and still trying to pick up the pieces.]

This is unforgivable!

[And meanwhile, Barry is sputtering and coughing, trying to dislodge that piece of food. He turns toward the other man, pointing at his own throat.]

[why must he shout

It's very fortunate that this is an abandoned temple, because Souma's sudden arrival startles Kija, who has been innocently trying to wash the floor. He's not doing very well, he's mostly just pushing a sponge around and being confused about why the floor just refuses to be immaculate already. It's fortunate, because the moment he startles from the shouting, his big hand trying to sponge the floor gauges deep lines in the wood instead.

So, darn. Woops...]

Don't shout!!

Eh?

[There was a voice... and also the loud, distinct sound of floors being ruined in a temple he is trying to clean. He whirls in his surprise, smacking the handle of his mop into a shelf and quickly moving to hold a few pots so they don't crash over.]

By shouting that, are you not breaking your own suggestion? [Like, he's just saying... right before he notices those deep gauges.]

B-big brother?! More importantly, those lines there, in the wood...!

[bighand]

That's different! [Shh, don't call him out. There are more pressing matters to attend to anyway, such as how he just fucking destroyed the floor??]

Do you— do you see a rug to put over them?!

[Just so happens that Souma would end up at the temple Amane's at. Since she's tasked with cleaning, why not clean the temple of the god she's now serving?

However, there is an intruder. Only, well, Amane's still new and doesn't know anyone. A friend of her god, another shinki or...?]

Excuse me, who are—ah!

[WHY IS A MOP SO CLOSE TO HER FACE...?! Amane stops and take a step backward in surprise.]

Hyaa—ah?

[Thankfully, he stops short from actually hitting her, but the surprise on Souma's face is clear. Quickly, he flushes in shame and embarrassment and pulls the mop back to himself.]

My apologies! I was so involved in my work that I hadn't heard someone approaching, and so as excited as I was, I swung my cleaning tool...

[Why call it a cleaning tool...] If it were just a step closer, that would have been very unfortunate.

[Thank goodness for that. Otherwise, there would be much embarrassment for all. She blinks for a moment, before she looks at the young man before her. Ahem, time to regain her composure and stay Calm and in Control. Must represent her god nicely!]

It's alright, no one got hurt. [And that's important for her.] And I can see that you didn't mean to do that.

[You know, almost hitting her with a mop.]
