Who: Hazel and u
What: small priest is heckled by trees and literature
When: May 21~23 or so, flexible
Where: Far Shore places
Warnings: hazel and jae-ha have an active sex life
Summary: heckle
I. spooky trees
[It is what it sounds like: somewhere on the Far Shore, anywhere on the Far Shore, where Hazel is and where you, the witness, also happen to be, Hazel is making his waydowntown around minding his own business like a man being followed. Or: he keeps looking over his shoulder, or stopping abruptly to look suddenly off to one side, or do all manner of things that look very much like he's trying to catch someone sneaking up on him.
But there isn't anyone there, because of course there isn't. Eventually, exasperated, he just comes to a natural stop and announces to the air:] Even the dang trees're nosy.
[have you ever been stalked by a spooky forest]
II. what kind of dewey decimal is this
[There's a library and new gods are being invited to come. That's enough for Hazel to finally nose around in there, after staying very much away from anything involving being within spitting distance of the old gods before now. He's a sight to behold when any individual old god passes by and expects a greeting, all manners and flattery and unpleasant looks the moment their backs are turned. He'd give them a rude gesture for the road, but that's far too improper for him.
But when he's not making childish faces at other gods' backs, he's trying to find... anything at all worthwhile in this place. There's nothing in order. It's a wreck. He can't find a single thing, and for all his practicing there are still plenty of kanji he's never seen before, so the older books in particular are brutal...
He pauses, picks a book up off a shelf, and frowns at it.] I can't even remember lookin' for this, it was so long ago.
[He has been here for Hours.]
III. wildcard

But never mind that for now.]
They're not gonna have that one lyin' around in one of these dusty old books. Your spells'll work for a time, at least.
no subject
I wouldn't want to ever lose Lu Meng, and you wouldn't ever want to lose Jae Ha.
no subject
Ain't that the truth. Some folk around here don't seem to care what becomes of their shinki, but that's no way to live with somebody.
no subject
She's talking about Lu Meng. Not that Hazel even needs to bother with what Lu Meng looks like when he's angry, but it certainly shows that she's grown closer to Lu Meng. ] Or that he always leaves three text messages before he actually calls you, or--
[ He can stop her anytime. ]
no subject
Sounds like you're gettin' along powerfully well, is that right?
no subject
[ But it's not bad to get along with her shinki! They do a lot of things together! And she's promised to become more open with him, instead of keeping things to herself. (And getting into trouble by herself, whoops.) ] Er-- but we also argue a lot. [ It must be a generation type of thing. Ya know, the modern versus hey-I-am-from-the-2nd-century type of thing. ]
But...! I am trying to learn more about him. It's not like we know everything about our shinki just through their pasts alone...
no subject
Everybody argues. It's part of gettin' close to somebody, ain't it? [Hmm. Hmmmm.] Would ya say you're especially close?
[do you.........smooch!!!]
GURL I FORGOT THE REST OF THE TAG UR TOO FAST
[ She clears her throat. ] A stronger... [ Uh. ] b-bond means we'll be better at fighting ayakashi. [ Yes. That sounds about right. ]
I'M EAGER,,,,
I hope ya know I'm takin' that all as a firm yes. [She didn't exactly say yes, but it's implied. With all the blushing.]
It's not somethin' to get embarrassed about.
no subject
Also it's only one sided. Because Sanae is a loser and this happens. Yaaaaay, her life is full of unrequited dokis. ] Who-- who's embarrassed?
[ SHE'S NOT EMBARRASSED. Totally!! ] We're just learning more about each other, that's all.
no subject
But she is definitely embarrassed and Hazel Knows. He can feel it.]
Sure, sure, I know how it is. I'm always learnin' somethin' about Jae-Ha, myself.
no subject
He has a mysterious side to him, so there's probably lots of things to learn about him, right? [ Right??? Or is Sanae just oblivious to what a dork he is. ]
no subject
I dunno about mysterious, but I've never been bored with him around.
no subject
[ And does he carry you bridal style. ]
no subject
Oh, sure, all the time. We've got places to go, so...

[It's cute!! He doesn't even make a fuss about it for fuss's sake anymore.]
no subject
THEY WENT TO THE HOTSPRINGS TOGETHER ] Th-that is... quite a bond you have with your shinki....[ She says, coughing into her hand. Or maybe she's just jumping to conclusions. She tends to do that a lot. ] How did you two become so, um, close?
no subject
Well, I s'pose we were good enough friends before he changed hands, as it were, and it's real easy to get along with someone when you're livin' together. One thing led to another, so when he wanted to get a lil closer I didn't say no, and here we are.
[Tada, all mysteries solved.]

Does that mean-- ]

[ Must she shout this in a library is the better question. Thankfully she realizes her mistake, and she leans into whisper: ] Oh-- oh! That's amazing! And so cute! What's it like, having a boyfriend? Is it all like they say it is? Does he bring you presents and do you watch movies together until three AM--?
[ She seems to have quite an idea of what having a boyfriend might be like. ] You know, they say that shinki and gods shouldn't be together, but that's hogwash, and--
no subject
Jae-ha had said something of the sort to her before, about gods and shinki shouldn't being together, when she had crushed on him at the sakura viewing. At the time, unfortunately she actually believed that his compliments were genuine and showed an actual interest. Maybe he's a flirt, or maybe Sanae is that easily swooned, but back then it truly hurt her!!
Maybe Jae-ha changed his mind, then? Or maybe he was just using it as an excuse. It wasn't that long ago, so it's likely he might already have had feelings for Hazel. Which hurts just a little bit too. She wishes her friends were a little more honest with her. Maybe she should also go to Jae-ha and tell him to stop being a flirt and be 100% committed to Hazel!! If two of her friends are together, she won't tolerate any funny business!
Ugh, she doesn't completely like this line of thought because it threatens to open up an old wound. And it's confusing! And it's all in the past now, she's learned her lesson! Besides, two of her friends are now together, and that's the best thing she could ever wish for something to happen to friends! It's great, they're sticking it to the old gods who say shinki and gods can't be together, and since they are both of her friends that means she's absolutely, positively, happy for the both of them.
So besides the distinct pause as she's momentarily caught up in doubts, she continues on smiling with her questions. ]
