So it was finally time to do some more prayers. Seeing as how gung ho Kairi was about doing them, she’s the first one Roxas thinks of when deciding on what prayers to take. He chooses ones that he hopes won’t be too difficult after their battle with the ayakashi when they saved Donut’s butt.

Except one of these prayers… might not be like the other.]

[No borderlines made sense to her.

But thankfully Roxas clears up one of her confusion points.]

No way! That's crazy.
It better not hurt them.

[She's temporarily forgotten that it's after the elderly, and starts trying to get a glimpse of it, jogging around the park and trying to catch a glimpse of it.]

Can we corner it, maybe?

Kids can see ghosts and ayakshi easier than adults.

[It was rather crazy. When he sees a kid looking under a table, he drops to one knee and looks as well. He lets out a soft gasp as it takes off.]

We have to!
It looks like a squirrel!

OK!

[And then she throws her phone into her pocket to scramble around and- there!
She finds someone throwing out a dirty, plastic picnic blanket that she fishes out of the trash can and opens it wide.]

Roxas, you're faster, use this and I'll chase it.

[Yeah they were supposed to be texting but her hands are full now and this is quicker, right?]

[There's some hesitation before he takes the blanket. It was the only thing around, so... He nods.]

I'll try! Let's go!

[He'll get to a more open area.]

[Kairi nods and then gets down on her knees to look for where the squirrel-ayakashi went now. It's heading back towards a bench where an elderly couple is sitting.]

No you don't!

[She starts running after it, and it finally notices that someone sees it.]

Get out of here, shoo! Go on!

[And thankfully she starts bending it away towards a more open field, where there's just a few people playing with their dogs.]

[It's strangely comical to watch Kairi run after it. Roxas is distracted enough at the moment with watching her, and then almost realizes too late that she was coming up on him. He blinks and manages to use his super speed to intercept the ayakashi.]

Got yo-

[He gets the blanket over the ayakashi but not without tripping and landing almost on top of it.]

G-Got it!

[pure_radiantics]

Woo!

[Kairi throws her hands up in excitement, then looks back down again.]

Oh, do you need help?

[She kneels down, getting ready to jump on the blanket too.]

[Roxas can feel the ayakashi trying to escape.]

We have to rend it, but it might get away if I get up!

[pure_radiantics]

Okay, well....

[She thinks about it for a second...]

But you can call me and I'll just appear on your hands, right? And then- then we can rend it from inside the blanket, right? Just stick your hand under there and I won't rip the blanket - I'll just rend the ayakashi.

[He nods. The plan made sense.]

Okay! Gouki!

[Once he's got the gloves on properly, he manages to wrap an arm around the blanket in a way to pins the ayakashi. He mentally goes over the incantation again, moving his fingers across the gloves, barely managing to keep the ayakashi under the blanket.]

Ready?

[pure_radiantics]

[She's used to this now, turning back and forth from being a vessel, so she 'settles' into her gloves very quickly.]

'Ready!'

[As soon as he gives her an inch, she's ready to target her power very carefully and not hurt the people around them.]

[He takes a moment, then lifts the blanket enough to stick his hand under. Let's hope he's not going to hurt either of them as they attempt to rend this thing.]

T-This is so weird!

[pure_radiantics]

[Kairi feels some part of her extending outward, enveloping the people nearby almost like a seal to protect them. She knows that she doesn't want to hurt them, and only wants to purify the ayakashi itself. All of that happens in the span of a few heartbeats before she turns her mind briefly back to Roxas.]

'Now, Rend it!'

[missingache]

[He smacks the ayakashi enough to stun it for a moment. Lifting the blanket, he slashes at it, gritting his teeth.

Job done? Job done.]

Got it...

Done?

[pure_radiantics]

'Phew!'

[It was such a tiny Rend that time but it was carefully executed, so she's glad that's over with.]

'And now the people will be safer! From ayakashi, at least.'

Sure!

[missingache]

[He nods, tossing aside the blanket.]

Then let's get home, Kairi.

[He'll wait till she's back out of her vessel form before teleporting them both home. Time to rest!]
