Summary: They're nerds...

[Waking up this morning had been a surprise far from the usual ones. There's no jolting upright, no disturbing Hazel in his sleep, and for once, no sad feelings. He remembers Gi-Gan. Everything about her, from the moment she took him in to the moment he parted, and so much more makes sense now. It makes for a good start to the morning, filling Jae-Ha with hope and energy, and he practically floats around in his morning routine. He has other plans for today, after all, and it's perfect timing!

The next surprise comes when he's watering all of the flowers inside of the house and notices that they've all bloomed enough to look wonderfully beautiful. It's much different than the little sprouts that he'd shown Hazel before, and he delicately touches one of the petals as he considers.

He'd already jumped all around getting things sorted, from little gifts to cute cupcakes waiting in the fridge, so why not start things now before Hazel notices? So, with everything perfectly set in place and the watering can now out of the way...]

Hazel! [He calls out as loud as he can manage in a cheery voice.] Come take a look at this!

There's no way I could forget.

[Hmm, he remembers that whole time perfectly clearly. With so much revealed about him being a dragon, Hazel was accepting, and there was this feeling in the air that was so difficult to ignore. Jae-Ha is practically buzzing with how happy he looks about it now, keeping their arms joined as he leads them down the stairs. A nice walk. That means more time... He can certainly do that.]

You won't be too warm in that jacket, will you?

[Jae-Ha laughs, bumping their shoulders together in a playful little nudge as he reaches the bottom of the stairs. And then it's to the door, opening it and heading on out.] Though you do look stunning in it.

You're crazy if ya think I'm not gonna wear my new jacket out on the town.

[Or out to the lake... Same thing. He hooks his arm through Jae-Ha's the moment they're out of the house, and their stroll down to this lake is cute and fun, but Hazel definitely has taken the jacket off by the time they get there. It's hotter than even his Texas genes were prepared for...

He'll put it in a nice shaded patch of grass before standing back to survey the lake. Hmm!!]

I'll be honest—I'm gonna try pushin' ya in at least once. [isn't he a treasure]

[It's a cute and fun stroll, indeed. Jae-Ha enjoys every minute of it, slowly walking with Hazel and pausing to pull his arm away as he removes his jacket. They link their arms again, continue, and it feels so light. He's tried many times to describe the way his heart feelings just existing beside Hazel, but he still gets that urge to keep trying. He thinks he hasn't quite nailed it yet.

But there's no need for sap right now, and so he keeps his mouth shut on that part, just talking casually until Hazel makes such a rude admission.]

You must want to be thrown in yourself, if you plan on trying that. Should I get a head start? [He laughs, moving closer to place hands on either side of Hazel's hips, standing just behind him.]

I wanted to admire this view, first.

On my pretend half birthday? Ya wouldn't dare. [Would he... Hazel is quick, he's certain he could get out of the way in time!! He's confident enough in not getting thrown in the lake to lean back against Jae-Ha, reaching for Jae-Ha's hands to tug them all the way around himself. Give him a dang hug.]

Seems like it'll be hot around here for a while. [Perhaps three times as long as usual,] I think it looks better'n the last time somehow, don't ya think?

[Jae-Ha just laughs, like maybe he would, but he won't. Not now, at least. Hazel is too comfortable in his arms, and he gladly pulls him close, watching the lake from over Hazel's head.]

It certainly does. [This heat is going to last forever, too, but that's not so bad. He likes this feeling of each day drawing out and him getting to spend time with Hazel. Something eventful only happens every so often, and usually it's nothing bad, and never lasting.]

And I'm much happier than before, too. [He sways left and then right, just to have a playful motion to do with Hazel wrapped up in his arms like this.] Though you did make me very happy that day. We should come here more often.

[That day, the day of dragonkin... and realizing he's been a horrible person in the past... Hazel thinks about it and says nothing, but hums and squeezes Jae-Ha's arms in this backwards hug. At least Jae-Ha was happy—he's happier with that than bringing up anything he feels less than great about.

So that's fine.]

Ya say that about every place we go to. Then it's that we gotta see more places. We're never gonna have time to rest, except for when ya insist we gotta stay in more.

[Just listen to all of that!!] I think you're agin' backwards and that's how you're gettin' all this energy.

It's amazing how pleasant times will boost my energy. I don't feel so old like this. [He chuckles, squeezing Hazel a little closer still. Honestly, they're so close, he gets more afraid every day, but things seem to be okay. He can't focus on fear. If he runs away from Hazel like he had thought about doing with the pirates, where could he go? What would he do? He can't bring himself to pull away from this. He'd better stop thinking about it before his inner emotional rollercoaster becomes noticeable.]

You're not getting tired of it, are you? [He smirks, nudging at Hazel to take a few steps closer to the water, even as they are.]

[Oh, are they going to wobble down to the water like this... That's fine, he can do that.]

Of your carryin' on? I can't imagine gettin' tired of that. [He's tired of more or less everything besides that, but that's a mood killer of epic proportions, so he'll keep that to himself for now, too. And he's literally tired, always... Whatever, it's lake day!!]

It'd be powerfully borin' without ya.

[Hazel, share these things... Or maybe not. Jae-Ha is always worried about how little Hazel seems to get Real Sleep, but he's very aware that there doesn't seem to be much he can do to help. There's a lot to worry about, a lot that could be better, but they're stuck here, like this.

Either way, it's still a relief to hear Hazel say those words. As they waddle forward slowly, he ducks his head enough to press their cheeks together.]

And here I thought you might be able to relax. [More joking, this time accompanied by a kiss to his cheek before he stands up straight again and squeezes Hazel. He'll stop waddling them forward just before the water, since they're both still in their shoes.

Aside from that, he's quiet. He wants Hazel to enjoy this day however he'd like, so when he wants to do something else, he's sure he'll say. Until then, they can stand in an embrace and enjoy the view. That's not bad at all.]

I'm a lil bit relaxed. [See, he's fine... Today. He is, really, it's a nice day and Jae-Ha is here, and he got him those nice things, and the lake is here...

No complaints!! He's even content to stand here in this backwards hug for a while, watching the water without fidgeting or anything. Or at least for a few minutes, until he wiggles just enough to look up at Jae-Ha. Hello.]

Since it's my pretend half-birthday, I think I oughta be allowed to toss ya in the lake. [hazel,]

[What the fuck, don't look at him like that... Jae-Ha laughs in that sort of way where he's going to lose this no matter what, squeezing Hazel a little extra before loosening his arms to hold them out to the side a little. It's an invitation. Go ahead, toss him.]

Can you even lift me?

[Wow, check this attitude. Hazel raises an eyebrow at him, as it seems that Jae-Ha is the one who has forgotten, this time, that Hazel can teleport him around and not just in the shinki way.

So he'll just teleport Jae-Ha into the lake, that's cool. Bye, lover.] I think I've got it all figured out.

[Eh? Eh? Hazel? Oh, he's already gone, and splashing into the water with a brief yell. There are only a few bubbles of his flailing surfacing before he pops his head back up. His shirt was tight enough without having it wet, too, honestly.]

Ah, I forgot you could do that. [That's mostly mumbled to himself. Good job, him... Forgetting this one time it matters the most.]

Won't you join me?

[Ah, he should have teleported him out of his nice pants first, oh well... Hazel takes a little step closer to the edge of the water, hands on his hips, looking at Jae-Ha in serious thought. Hmm.

In all my finery? [his tshirt and pants,] I dunno if that's a good idea, sir.

[What a little brat. Jae-Ha laughs even as he swims over, and once his feet hit dirt again, he reaches up to pull the ribbon free from his hair.]

I see, I get it. You just want to watch me emerge from the water like a beautiful beast, right? But you know, I'll pull you in if you let me get too close.

[Brazen brat accusations... he is innocent. He hums, still considering very seriously.]

I guess that's fair, if ya can make it here. Maybe I'll get prepared in the meantime.

[His pants. He means he's taking off his pants. Right now.]

[ Oh, goodbye pants. Jae-Ha's smile widens as he wades towards the edge of the lake, eyes fixed on Hazel. ]

Since it's your half birthday, I can allow that much. [ If every day were a half birthday of jumping in the lake, it'd be more and more like heaven. He steps closer with his hands up in surrender to show he's not yanking anyone in yet. But he does press closer with his own soaking wet body to tie his ribbon loosely around Hazel's wrist. ]

Your shirt? [ Does he get the full show?? ]

[With much less care than he had for his brand new cool guy leather jacket, Hazel tosses his pants to the side - away from the water, at least - in time for Jae-Ha to come at him with this ribbon. He looks away from his discarded pants curiously, amused—what is this silly man doing??]

Am I bein' kidnapped? Kind of an odd party game, darlin'. Hold on. [So yes, he will take his shirt off, and he will even keep the ribbon on.]

I gave it to you for safe keeping.

[And it looks cute, tied in a bow at his wrist. Jae-Ha laughs, reaching to take Hazel's hand the moment he's done removing his clothes. Jae-Ha is already a soaking mess, so there's no use taking his off now.]

Come here! [Playfully, he tugs him towards the water, turning to walk backwards at a point and reach to grab Hazel's other hand as well.] It's cold, isn't it? And you dumped me in so suddenly.

[The (half) birthday boy becomes the present, he sees what's going on here. Jae-Ha, kink pushing again... Or: he'll gladly go a little bit into the water, but only a little bit, because it is cold.]

In my humble defense, ya did challenge me a bit. How was I meant to know it was so chilly?

I did challenge you a bit! I couldn't help myself. You should have the most fun possible on a day like today, so I wouldn't be mad even if you sent me in again.

[He's having so much fun goofing around. And of course, when Hazel only goes a little bit in, Jae-Ha releases his hands to step closer and scoop him off his feet. He's already soaking and cold himself, there's no escape!! He's walking into the water more, slowly.]

[Nooo, he's cold and wet, how terrible. Hazel whaps a hand against his shoulder in a pathetic and only half-serious objection to being carried further into the water.]

You're askin' for it with talk like that— [Aaa, the water is so cold... Watch in wonder as he tries to hold himself above the water for as long as possible, fidgeting in Jae-Ha's arms to do it. He looks like a fool. It's fine.]

[That's so cute. Jae-Ha takes the opportunity when Hazel is close enough, fidgeting away from the water, to kiss him with a chuckle. Then, he ducks, Hazel still in his arms, to bring both of them under the water completely. Revenge!!]

[What the fuck is this fake out cute kiss?? He wants a refund, he was too distracted by kisses to fidget away!! He makes a stupid noise of surprise just before getting pulled under, retaliating by swatting against Jae-Ha with both hands now and probably calling him a rude name underwater. Angry bubbles!!]

[What a perfect reaction! It's too much, it's too great! Jae-Ha was holding it together until angry bubbles make his own air come out in a laugh, a flood of bubbles joining Hazel's. Pulling Hazel closer against his chest, he stands up again, bringing both of them to the surface of the water while his laugh continues. His hair is all in his face, he's a mess, but Hazel is pure.]
