[Back from the Forest of Doom, which she'd wandered into with Sora, she's starting to both get more confident in what she can do as a shinki and more aware of the danger that the world around her poses. This hasn't diminished the light in her heart, but tempered it into a willingness to become the kind of person that neither Roxas nor Sora worries about if she wants to go wherever she pleases.]

[Kairi is mostly available to wave at anyone she doesn't know and chat up casually, just from walking around the grounds with the two ghost dogs. She'll be practicing Borderlines on her own as well as some very simple swordsmanship positions that Sora's shown her.]

[Kairi has become an avid texter and phone converser, so if you're someone she's had previous contact with, you can handwave a brief conversation that she initiated and concluded with directions to the temple to find her.]

[ She points to the first temple again. ]

Artemis is my god - he's actually a blond boy named Roxas. He can be shy around strangers, but he's nice. Baldr is a boy named Sora, with brunet hair. He's the type of person you could run right up to and hug as soon as you meet him.

[ Which she doesn't have a problem telling Nanako because she's so young. Sora might mind of someone older, but not from Nanako, she'd bet her whole allowance. ]

[ Nanako's expression lights up with recognition. ]

I know Roxas, he's really nice! And I think I met Sora, too. And Wan? He's very cute.

[ Look, Nanako had been really impressed with the affectionate dream eater. She might have been too distracted hugging him to notice whether or not Sora was very huggable. ]

[ Oh, that's good! She remembers Nanako having trouble remembering full names, but Roxas and Sora at least are pretty simple... and then Wan comes up. ]

Wan?

[ She doesn't think that either Roxas or Sora nicknamed any of their shinki Wan, or got new shinki named Wan, or used symbols calling their shinki Wan... WAIT. ]

Oh, Sora's pet! Yes, of course.

[ That thing is... possibly bigger than Nanako, isn't it? ]

[ It totally is, but Nanako doesn't seem at all bothered by that. ]

Yes! He's cuddly and gives kisses. Sora said he likes me. [ Which had probably made her entire week. ]

[ She nods at Nanako. ]

Well, Sora would know best. Do you want to see if we can find Wan again while you're here?

[ Hey if she'd been that excited about it before... ]

No, it's okay. I'm sure I will see them again. I'm exploring today!

[ It's a very important mission. ]

Oh, exploring? Just everywhere in the Far Shore, like the different temples?

[ It sounds very important, that's for sure. ]

Yeah! [ Nanako grins. ] There's looots of different ones. And lots of different gods, too.

What's the coolest one you've seen so far? Temple, I mean.

[ That's a hard question, Kairi! ]

I don't know. There's a really old one up on a cliff that was really neat! And there was one with a really pretty garden and loooots of flowers. And one was a biiiiig library with maybe every book ever! But I like my big brother's temple, too. It reminds me of home.

[ She really is listening to all of those things Nanako says and nods vigorously about how interesting each of them sound, but then the last one hits her a little hard. She knows Nanako doesn't mean it, so she tries to find a way to express herself without saying Nanako was rude. ]

You know, I don't know your big brother... but I'd encourage you to think that no matter where you are, being with him could feel like home. I think that's more important than what a building may look like or remind you of, Nanako.

[ Her expression falls a little as she drops her gaze and nods. ]

I know. And it does. I'm glad he's here. But I'm worried my dad is sad. Or lonely. If both me and Souji are here, who is taking care of him? I miss him. Although sometimes I pretend he's just at work and I'm really still at home when I get sad, that's all.

[Kairi nods in understanding. She can't grasp missing a parent, and she's not sure that it's because of being a shinki either. She doesn't know what that means, but she doesn't want to think more on it either.]

I get what you mean, Nanako. I guess if you're the only two there it makes sense. I want to believe that... somehow he might know. That the people who brought us all here would leave a note or something, telling our friends and family what happened. Or at least that they might know they'll see us again. It's not easy being apart from the ones we love, but you can find something in common anyway, I think.

Like... sitting on your porch and looking up at the night sky. Wherever he is, he's looking at the same sky.

[ She's not sure her dad takes much time to look at the sky, but Nanako takes the encouragement for what it's worth and smiles up at Kairi hopefully. ]

I hope so. Thank you, Kairi. I'm sure he'll be okay. And I'm going to try and do my best while I'm here, too. I want to help people, just like he does.

[ She smiles down at Nanako and gives her a big hug. ]

[ Nanako giggles and hugs her back. ]
