Pomegranates

Where: Near Shore, Hades Temple
Warnings: Ceberus is a curious puppy with three chompers.


Hades pomegranates seem to have a will of their own and purposely jump ship whenever he isn't looking. You may have found a stray pomegranate either by the beach, near the forest, or even better had the the courage to pick them off the two trees flanking the entrance to Hades Temple. Either way, the fruit seems to be in good shape and the seeds inside are pristine and look rather delicious. Picking up the fruit won't have any negative effects, but if you decide to eat theam... well then. You're in for a treat. You get a free night in the Underworld, free of charge! Your hosts will be the Kiryuu twins and their dog. You will be compelled to enter Hades Temple and stay the night. Only then will the compulsion leave you.


i. The Trees

One of the twins is on his way out of Hades Temple when he see's someone near the pomegranate trees and immediately goes to investigate.

"What are you doing?"


ii. Cerberus

The three-headed Hound of Hell is Hades first defense against intruders and will alert him to any and all visitors. Better hope Hades or Ichiru gets to you before Cerberus decides he wants to play. Be nice, he's still a pup the twins have a soft spot for him.

iii. Dinner Time

After Zero figures out what's happened - and after an extensive lecture about eating things off the ground or stealing fruits - Zero finally settles down and gets to work making dinner while Cerberus settles down watches in the background. You may explore your room for the night one of the twins pointed out earlier, but be aware Cerberus won’t like that and will be following you all the way. Conversely, you may decided it's better to stay by Hades side who doesn't seem to understand that a 10 ft three-headed dog made from silver rose vines is not in any way a goddamn puppy! You can help him or settle down on the dining room table.


iv. Night Explorations

Having trouble sleeping? Feel free to go exploring or try your chances at an escape. Who knows maybe the curse has worn off! Either way, Cerberus is a light sleeper and he has your scent. Hades won't be far behind once he finds out his favorite puppy is gone, and Ichiru tends to wander the hallways at night, so better hope you run across one of them before the Hellhound.

Open to any shenanigans you'd like to try so feel free to put up your own starter!


[ OOC: Characters are free to make up any symptoms for the "compulsion" to stay. For example: They can get the sudden urge to visit Hades Temple, or their feet will magically take them their without their consent. Or they might just start feeling pain the longer they ignore the compulsion. How many nights they stay is up to you! Eating three seeds can mean one night or three nights, whatever you want! ]

There's a hand on his back, lending him support while light eyes flick up in search of a foe. An attack? He expands his senses but when he finds no one, his eyes fill with worry as he looks down at the shinki with concern.

"What happened?"

Thanks to Zero's assistance he's abe to get back on his feet. He looks up at the much taller man.

"I'm unsure. It felt as if I had run into a wall." Itachi took a cautious step forward. He held his hands out in front of him this time, moving forward.

His hands hit a wall, and there was a ripple, then a small shock that cause him to yank his hands back. He moved back to the two twins.

"...Ah..." He looked down at his hands. They were covered in black soot, as if just for show. He looked back up to the entrance.

"Am... I....?"

Unlike Zero, Ichiru remained calm throughout the situation, just crossing his arms briefly as he scanned for foes. It wasn't uncommon for people to hurt each other from a distance, really.

Ichiru tilted his head when he saw the ripple-- a barrier?

"Ehhh, this is certainly strange. Did you perhaps erected a barrier, Zero?"

He turns to the taller male giving him a look before speaking to Itachi, "That's quite a question I don't know the answer to."

His face falls at the blackened hand and Zero is hauling Itachi into his arms and moving into the temple, as a sense of dread slowly crawls down his back.

"No," he answers Ichiru as he descends into the mouth of the Underworld.

And then he was hauled into the temple. He didn't say anything to try and counteract the motion, yet. He was dusting off his hands.

"...Where are you taking me, exactly?" And what was going on?

"This is certainly a development."

Out of a some concern for Itachi, Ichiru follows Zero as he hauls Itachi to the Underworld. Ichiru never really asked Zero about all the things that were surrounding him as a God and what would happen to people who ate that fruit. Perhaps, he should have stopped Itachi when he caught him eating.

"To Charon."

Is all he says as he descends down and into the Underworld where a river blocks his path. Charon is already waiting for him there and Zero quickly walks up to him and in an even voice -

"Explain."

He shows him Itachi's hand and the black cloak that covers his profile shifts down seemingly to take a look at the wound. A few seconds pass in silence before Charon raises his hood and raises a bony finger - the only solid detail of the figure beneath the robe - to the god. He communicates without words but Zero somehow understands him.

"The pomegranates."

Charon nods and Zero grows taunt, though his hold on Itachi remains gentle.

"Thank you."

He tells the ghost before setting Itachi on the boat. He turns to Ichiru then, and gestures him inside.

"Come on." He steps inside, next to Itachi. "We have a dinner guest."

And now he's on a boat, wonderful. He just remained quiet, letting Zero manipulate him about, mainly because he felt bad for causing trouble. He glanced around, not entirely sure how to feel about the entire situation and exactly what was taking place. Itachi watched as the two brothers gathered into the boat along with him. He looked towards Zero.

"...Am I stuck here, Zero-san?" He finally asked. It was the only conclusion he could come up with.

"From the way he spoke with Charon-- it's more than likely."

Ichiru responds as he casually joins the twosome in the boat. He seemed rather indifferent on having the dinner guest, seeing he didn't harbor any dislike for Itachi in general-- other than letting him eat the pomegranates. Now he knew what would happen to people if they ate it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't change his view very much in terms of him continuing to watch people succumb to their own curiosities. Ichiru had a pleasant look on his face-- like he partially entertained by the situation.

"For the time being.

He settles them in for the short boat ride to his Inner Temple. Once the boat lands, Zero picks up the ninja and heads into the Throne Room filled with trees at every corner while the ground was heavy with grass. Zero bypassed the Throne in the middle without giving it a glance and headed straight through for the assortment of bedchambers.

The throne room was impressive. There was a certain beauty to it that the rest of the dreary temple was lacking. He wondered if Zero ever sat there. Probably not.

"Zero-san," He replied after a few more steps towards the destination. "There's no need to carry me. I wasn't injured."

Come on Ichiru help him out here.

"If I'm staying here," He let out. "Can I have something to eat? Other than pomegranates."

Ichiru was the first to get off as he turned back to watch the other two get settled in some way or form. It's not like he had anything to say for the most part except chuckle at what zero was doing. Itachi was still being carried and the other was probably looking at him to assist with that matter.

He only gave the other a small almost amused smile before speaking, "I would assist you but it doesn't seem like he'll listen to me even if I asked."

He stated. There Itachi, that's your help.

"Not likely."

A blunt answer as he continues on, with Itachi in his arms, turning right instead of left which has them ending up in the kitchen instead of the bedchamber. Here, he deposits Itachi on a chair before moving to pick up an apron to get started on dinner.

Well at least he's not getting carted around everywhere.

Itachi watched as Zero picked up an apron to get started on cooking. He looked at Zero for a moment, before turning back to Ichiru.

"...Are you two... brothers?" He asked. Somehow related, but he wasn't sure in what sense. Brothers seemed most likely, but it occurred to him that if Ichiru was a shinki... maybe he didn't know. But then Zero would know, right?

Ah, the kitchen. Zero was always so kind of guests for whatever reason. He found it tedious but he didn't have to do anything so it wasn't his business. When Zero did drop Itachi in the chair, Ichiru was by the doorway, leaning against the wall silently in his own thoughts until Itachi asked him a question.

He looked at Itachi, "Do we look like brothers?" he answered the question with a question instead of really answering it. He's definitely a Shinki and he's clearly interested in Zero's answer. When he finished giving Itachi the question he turned to Zero. There were several ideas that ran through his mind and the possibility of being brothers wasn't that far off.

However, Zero could be a brother, a relative, or something else all together.
