Pomegranates

Where: Near Shore, Hades Temple
Warnings: Ceberus is a curious puppy with three chompers.


Hades pomegranates seem to have a will of their own and purposely jump ship whenever he isn't looking. You may have found a stray pomegranate either by the beach, near the forest, or even better had the the courage to pick them off the two trees flanking the entrance to Hades Temple. Either way, the fruit seems to be in good shape and the seeds inside are pristine and look rather delicious. Picking up the fruit won't have any negative effects, but if you decide to eat theam... well then. You're in for a treat. You get a free night in the Underworld, free of charge! Your hosts will be the Kiryuu twins and their dog. You will be compelled to enter Hades Temple and stay the night. Only then will the compulsion leave you.


i. The Trees

One of the twins is on his way out of Hades Temple when he see's someone near the pomegranate trees and immediately goes to investigate.

"What are you doing?"


ii. Cerberus

The three-headed Hound of Hell is Hades first defense against intruders and will alert him to any and all visitors. Better hope Hades or Ichiru gets to you before Cerberus decides he wants to play. Be nice, he's still a pup the twins have a soft spot for him.

iii. Dinner Time

After Zero figures out what's happened - and after an extensive lecture about eating things off the ground or stealing fruits - Zero finally settles down and gets to work making dinner while Cerberus settles down watches in the background. You may explore your room for the night one of the twins pointed out earlier, but be aware Cerberus won’t like that and will be following you all the way. Conversely, you may decided it's better to stay by Hades side who doesn't seem to understand that a 10 ft three-headed dog made from silver rose vines is not in any way a goddamn puppy! You can help him or settle down on the dining room table.


iv. Night Explorations

Having trouble sleeping? Feel free to go exploring or try your chances at an escape. Who knows maybe the curse has worn off! Either way, Cerberus is a light sleeper and he has your scent. Hades won't be far behind once he finds out his favorite puppy is gone, and Ichiru tends to wander the hallways at night, so better hope you run across one of them before the Hellhound.


v. Wildcard

Open to any shenanigans you'd like to try so feel free to put up your own starter!


[ OOC: Characters are free to make up any symptoms for the "compulsion" to stay. For example: They can get the sudden urge to visit Hades Temple, or their feet will magically take them their without their consent. Or they might just start feeling pain the longer they ignore the compulsion. How many nights they stay is up to you! Eating three seeds can mean one night or three nights, whatever you want! ]

[ He pauses in his qest to open this damn thing, still not looking over ar Izumo. He growls lightly before shrugging, defeated. ]

...fine...

[ He peels the bloody, sticky sleeve off of his arm, showing the cut Ichiru's sword had made. It wasn't super deep but it was long, about a palm's length across. ]

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo eyes it for a moment before he settles down into a chair near Eric, but not too close to make him entirely uncomfortable.]

Bear with me.

[Because he's going to grab an antiseptic wipe first to sanitize the cut and wipe off any excess blood that didn't stain Eric's sleeve.]

[redstray]

[ The pain comes and he almost jerks his hand away, kick Izumo in the chest and run off somewhere else.

But he doesn't, all he does is shut his eyes, biting his lip and shaking as that hurt almost more then the cut did. ]

[toremainbehind]

[The jerking is expected and he gives Eric a slightly apologetic glance.

However, Izumo keeps working, making sure the cut was properly cleaned before he wraps it up once he was sure the bleeding had stopped for the most part.

A light tightening on the bandages as Izumo gives Eric a questioning look.]

Is it too tight?

[redstray]

[ As soon as the bandage is finished, Eric retrieves his arm back, giving it a small flex to test it out. He shakes his head. ]

It's fine...

[toremainbehind]

Good to hear.

[He cleans up and puts away the first aid kit back where he found it.

Izumo hopes Zero doesn't mind as he fetches Eric a glass of water, handing it to the younger man.]

Do you want to tell me what happened between you and Ichiru?

[redstray]

[ He sheugged, there was a lot that happened, but it wasn't really this guys business. ]

He called me a dog....I called him weak. We fought, Zero got in the way and I...burned him.

[ A very short summary, he shrugged again. The only part he felt bad about was burning Zero and it was scary for some reason to think about it.]

Nothing else

[toremainbehind]

[A slow blink.]

Well, I wouldn't worry about Zero. He seems to be able to handle being burned well enough.

[He would know. He's burnt Zero twice now.]

At the very least, none of you three were too seriously harmed.

[There was an afterthought to check on Zero, though, but he'd probably get hit if he even offers his help.]

[redstray]

Doesn't matter if he can handle it. But when he decides to return the favour he said he would.

[ That's what he said at the beach. So all he can do was wait. ]

How nice.

[toremainbehind]

You two seem to get along well.

[Izumo slides over that glass of water over to Eric, a silent gesture to get him to drink it.]

[redstray]

[ He looks at the glass and slowly takes it, sipping a bit. He shrugs. ]

I guess.

[toremainbehind]

[There's a light sound of amusement from Izumo.

Once he's sure Eric's fine though and not completely withdrawing into himself, he'll take out a cigarette and light it with a snap of his fingers.]

[redstray]

[ Eric watches him as he lights his cigarette, like he had lit the sparkler on the beach. Eric looks down at the water glass, he can't think about it. Don't think about it. ]

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo notices that and he takes a drag.]

Eric, are you afraid of fire?

[redstray]

No.

[toremainbehind]

I'd believe you more if you didn't answer me so quickly.

[Leaning away from Eric, he allows a small flame to appear and lets it dance between his fingertips.

Then it disperses.]

How well can you control it?

[redstray]

[ He tensed as he watched the fire come out. Just like the tattoo...Can't think about it. Not suppose to worry. He looks away, clenching his hands to fists on his legs. He winced as his arm hurt. ]

It's just something generic, something common.

[toremainbehind]

[A hint of a frown, but otherwise, Izumo looks as passive as ever.]

It is a generic ability, but you haven't answered my question: how well can you control it?

[He breathes out smoke.]

I'm not saying I'll help you, but if your god knows, then perhaps he or she can help you control it better.

[redstray]

[ He takes a while longer to answer. There wasn't any point of hiding it anymore. ]

Not well, it just...comes out without me thinking. It's more...feeling I guess...

[ He frowns, if he knew more he would not have injured Zero]

He knows about...the other thing. Not this.

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo listens patiently, nodding once.]

It was the same for me. Mine's came out as an instinctive nature than anything.

[A head tilt, curious, but he won't pry.]

If you want me to help you, I will, but I'll leave the choice to you since the two of us aren't that close enough.

[redstray]

[ He listens intently, surprised he had the same trouble. To get some help, so this wouldn't happen again, would be great.

But first... ]

I lied to you...before...

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo regards Eric with something akin to curiosity.]

Did you? About what?

[redstray]

[ Eric shuffles a bit as he tries to unzip his sweater with one hand. He zips it only partially before using his bandage hand to show the other his bare shoulder. On it, the tattoo Izumo had broadcasted before.]

I knew, what you were talking about back then, but to know things are connected is bad so...

[ He shrugged. ]

But, I want to learn to control this. Even if...I am scared of fire but I don't know why. So, showing this could be...payment, or...or something. Now you know...

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo's eyes flicker over to the tattoo on Eric's shoulder.

He studies it briefly, but he doesn't let his eyes linger on it for too long. The last thing he wanted was to start something that could set both of them in trouble.]

It's fine.

[Moving on:]

You showing me your tattoo doesn't have to be payment, Eric. I'm content enough to teach you to control it without any sort of payment.

[redstray]

[ He zips back up. He knows it was bad, but at least coming clean meant he didn't have to hide it anymore. ]

Ah...well...still...thank you. I hope I can learn a lot...
