Who: OPEN OPEN OPEN
What: People teaming up to check out a giant abandoned temple and look for hidden treasure, clues or just want to get into some trouble
Where: An abandoned temple ruin in the heavens
When: June 13

[ Outside the Temple ]
The temple is located deep inside a heavily forested part of the heavens. Outside of the temple is littered with overgrown plants and roots and crumbling rocks and rubble. Most of it seems undisturbed and serene like no one has been this way in hundreds of years. Occasionally monkey and spider spirits can be seen crawling over cracked pillars or hiding in dark corners. Looking around you might find pictures of nameless faces etched into stone or old brass and copper coins under rocks or in the dirt. Beware of pitfalls.
[ Outer Sanctum ]
Immediately inside the temple is the Outer Sanctum which is filled with spots of sunlight. The place glitters with light from the sun trickling in from the broken and cracked roof. Pillars and walls gleam with jewels and precious stones ripe for the taking. If certain gems are disturbed you might hear slight rumblings in the distance or the floor might shake but nothing else of interest happens.
If you stay here long enough you might hear the chirping of bird spirits but there are none in sight. The birds will chatter and whisper in your ear with sing song tunes. Call back to them and they might just swoop and attack you. If killed they turn into sapphires.
[ Left Wing ]
The left wing is dark and many doors are locked or set with traps. Broken furniture litters the wing like a massive fight happened here. Dust settles on everything like a thick fog. If you enter some of the rooms you will find libraries and study halls. Most of the books crumble into dust when you touch them. There are tapestries all along the walls of a young Amaterasu. They can be taken off the walls and do not crumble like the books do. The ones that might catch your eye are the ones depicting her hiding in a cave from dark looming figures.
Dig enough through these rooms and you might find some strange trinkets:
- A branch that shakes when it is going to rain soon
- A jar of yellow ink that slowly turns black over several days
- A small leather book with several names of hafuri shinki inside
- A brass lamp engraved with a map of the heavens in ancient times when lit
- A leather bracer that gives you monstrous claws when worn
- A ring which if you put on you can’t remove but your godly power seems slightly enhanced
[ Right Wing ]
The right wing makes it hard for you to breathe inside. Some sort of shade or haze fills these halls and your head starts to hurt the longer you stay in this wing. The rooms that you find are all open and no door is locked but there are several puzzles to be found. You will find abandoned weaponry rooms and storage rooms. The strangest room you might find is the room filled with opened and empty human caskets. Many jars and old boxes scatter the halls in which some of them are broken some of them are intact.
Dig enough through these rooms and you might find some strange trinkets:
- A necklace with red jewels that seems to slightly enhance shinki borderlines
- An amulet set with a carved carnelian that makes you feel warm when you wear it
- A sealed box with no openings that sounds like there might be bugs crawling around inside
- A pouch with several mix matched diamond and gold earrings inside
- A golden statue in the shape of a praying Amaterasu
- A katana with no sheath that is broken and chipped but has a gold chain wrapped around it
[ Inner Sanctum ]
First you are met with a giant set of sealed doors that seem nearly impossible to open. The doors are covered with ancient characters that are unreadable unless you have a way to decipher it. The doors seem immovable by normal strength or magic and only by god or shinki powers once you are lucky enough to stumble on this fact or have a way to read the doors. Once you find this fact or have a way to read the messages, use a god or shinki power (of any sort) and the doors will slowly crack open to a dark Inner Sanctum.
The Inner Sanctum is one large chamber with several chairs and a large table in the center. There are melted down candles everywhere. Inside you find absolutely nothing else of interest. Hope you didn’t spend too much time trying to get the doors open, Wanderer. But does this mean someone got here before you?
Someone with a keen eye might notice the small box tucked away somewhere. Inside the box is a large glowing amethyst. If it is removed the monkey spirits outside the temple will attack everyone on sight.

He blinks slowly and looks to Yukine, then the cut wire hanging loose and then back to Yukine.]
....!
[Goten's eyes widen as his face lights up. He wasn't worried but there is a big relief in seeing Yukine able to free him of at least one of the wires. If he can do one, then the rest should be easy too right? There's a small gasp of delight as he grins. It's taking all his willpower not to kick his legs in excitement.]
It did! You did it! It's a good thing you brought that thing. I donno what I'd do without you Yukine!

[Guiltily Yukine turns his face away from that bright smile under the pretext of looking for the next wire to cut.]
I'm sorry. I'm the one who pointed out this door.
[Yukine pauses speaking for a beat as he cuts the next wire, but continues right on,]
I should have warned you at the start that there might be traps, or bad air...
[He cuts another wire, and winces slightly as the end snaps sharply against his leg.]
But now you're hurt because of me.

Huh? But that's not your fault. We're exploring! Anything can happen, right? Maybe if I didn't find you I would have ran into a big monster I couldn't beat or other stuff like that.
[Yukine is helping him. It's not his fault at all. If anything, Goten would just be hanging here forever without his help. If it wasn't going to be this door, it probably would have been the next. He isn't worrying about it nor does he see how any of this is Yukine's fault.]
You shouldn't beat yourself up! I'm okay. I wanna keep exploring with you.

But when he says that he wants to keep exploring with him, he lifts his face back up in surprise.]
Are you serious? We should go back. You've been cut up pretty badly, after all.

[He cuts the final wires and breathes a huge sigh of relief. It feels like a mountain has left his shoulders when the final wire falls.]

[... It's hard to say no to a kid. Even though the blood on Goten's cheek scares him, he also doesn't want to let him down by turning back when he wants so much to continue on...]

All right. But let's get you cleaned up first.
[And folding up the knife he moves to put things back in his bag, while looking for the bottle of water and handkerchief he'd brought. Things got kind of all over the place when he'd dumped them out earlier.]

[Goten lights up at that, nodding his head quickly. They can continue their adventure! He practucally jumps up. Though his eyes do drift over to Yukine's backpack and all the stuff he's putting up.]
You have a lot of stuff in there! I didn't think to bring anything...
[But he moves to try and gather up some of the items that are a little out of Yukine's reach and brings them over to him.]

[Taking the things from Goten he fills his bag up again, minus the water and handkerchief.]
I don't have any bandages for cuts like this though... I'll just clean it up with this. [And dampening the cloth with the water he reaches out to start wiping the blood off Goten's cheek, but pauses before he touches him.]
Uh. Unless you wanted to do it yourself? [That might be better?]

More or less he's just scrubbing his face with it. It's just water at least so it doesn't sting! He holds the cloth to his face and rubs his cheek against it.]
What about you, Yukine? Are you okay? I saw some of the wires snap back at you too!

[Yukine is quick to answer, without even looking at the places on his body that are throbbing. He has a few welts under his clothes, but one is across his wrist and shows a red scratch as well as a dark bruise already forming.
Ignoring it he adds to Goten,]
Be sure to clean the cuts that got through your clothes, too.
[As Goten does that, Yukine puts on his work gloves and carefully starts gathering up the offending wire.]

[His attention mostly on coiling the wires up he shrugs slightly.]
It's just a scratch. You actually got cut.

[Goten frowns a bit more at that, his brow furrowing a bit. He walks over, picking up the water bottle and pouring some more water onto the cloth. He then goes over to Yukine.]
I wanna see. Hold up your hand. Even if it is just a scratch!

[Yukine is so surprised by Goten's demanding tone that he can hardly bring himself to debate it.]
It's nothing, really...
[But he puts down the wire and takes off his left glove. A scratch runs almost like a bracelet along the back of his wrist.]
See, there's hardly any blood.
[The bruise will be sore as heck though.]

But Goten perks up a bit when the older shinki takes off his glove and shows his hand. There really isn't any blood, he's right but that doesn't make it that much better. Goten lifts the handkerchief and pats the scratch lightly before trying to wrap the cloth around his wrist. Small fingers are good for some things. Never mind that the cloth is stained already with Goten's blood. He doesn't think about how that could be gross or anything. Goten doesn't know anything about first aid outside of putting on a band-aid. He wants to help though!]

[Yukine is still under Goten's ministrations, although he does mentally wince when the dirty cloth is wrapped around his wrist. ("You won't die again from it but-", part 413.)

There are. And it'd suck if they got hurt by this when we could prevent it.
[Looking down at his wrapped hand, he decides to let it go for the moment. (And it actually does feel nice.)
He then looks at the coil of wire.]
... If you want to give me a hand, do you want to try tying up the coil of wire so it doesn't unwind? You probably won't need the gloves if you go slow. [And he rummages around in his bag for some sort of string to use.]

[Goten chirps up almost instantly. He wants to help Yukine and everyone as much as he can. He grins a bit before stepping over to the wire, trying to gather it all up. But he does heed Yukine's advice this time and goes slow. The wire is sharp and Goten has had enough cuts from it without needing to add more.]

Not finding any string in his bag, he opts for cutting the ear bands off one of the masks. It'll work.]
That's looking good. Once you got it all coiled up hold it out towards me. I'll tie it with this.

[He proudly presents the coiled up wire after another minute or so to the older shinki. Helpful Goten is helpful---or trying to be! Plus, the sooner they get this stuff out of the way the more they can explore and find treasure---and maybe get food. Yeah food sounds really good!]
