[Closed] Every Dog
Who: Lance & Keith
What: Prayer answerin'
When: June 14
Where: Back alleys and streets in Tokyo
Warnings: Teenage boys being jerks mostly.
[It's taken a lot of convincing, but somehow Lance was able to get Keith to agree to answer a prayer with him. He's pretty grateful to get to spend some time with his teammate, honestly, and he can't help the delight that's oozing from him as a result, even as they start the search for a lost dog.]
Hey Keith, what was that guy's name again? Something... weird, I know.
[All pets have weird names usually. Lance knows that. But this one just keeps slipping his mind for some reason.]

Awww, you wanna go home, don't you? Keith's a big meanie slave-driving shinki, yes he is...! What a good girl!
no subject
So
are you going to teleport us there or what?
no subject
Right, right, sorry. Grab my shoulder, would you?
[And the moment Keith does so, Lance will teleport them to the dog's house.]
no subject
Now that they're at the drop-off point,] Should one of us... knock? Or something?
[The owners might not even know they're there, but it's probably a good idea to get the dog inside post-haste.]
no subject
[Lance addresses the dog.]
You be a good girl now, okay?
[Before directing her in front of the door, knocking, grabbing Keith's hand, and RUNNING.]
no subject
[And there they go, off and away, hopefully the owner comes and grabs their dog before she tries to follow them instead, or anything.]
You don't have to be so rough.
[But, hey, at least there's not a whole lot of bite to his tone. Maybe actually working together is already softening him up. Maybe.]
no subject
Oh zip it. I had to make sure you'd run away with me.
no subject
[He's the one that wanted to come back, after all.]
Come on, let's go find this thing again.
[And, hey, look at that, he's not trying to lead the charge this time. Instead, he's aiming to go at this thing side-by-side as an attack plan.]
no subject
[He waves his hands around all crazy.]
...you!
[A fair assessment.]
no subject
Whatever.
[The subject effectively dropped, Keith puts his guard up as he focuses his attention on tracking that... thing, back down. Hand up, ready to cast a borderline if needed, he proceeds forward.]
no subject
Maybe it went away...
[He whispers the words, hopeful.]
no subject
[He whispers it back, just to be safe.]
We just gotta stick together, don't worry.
[The two of them can definitely handle this probably. For now, he really just wants to keep quiet and keep an ear out for that thing.]
no subject
WAIT!!
Lance smacks Keith's shoulder several times, quickly.]
Keith, Keith!! You can be a weapon!
[He forgot...]
no subject
Don't you want an extra pair of eyes looking out for that thing until we find it?
[He'll comply if that's not the case, but he figured, you know, it might be what someone so jumpy would want.]
no subject
[He's just panicking a little, okay?! He doesn't handle 'haunting' well.]
Maaaan, this is way too reminiscent of the haunted castle...
[He mumbles the last bit to himself, crossing his arms like he's trying to keep warm.]
no subject
If you see anything move, call me into my weapon form, got it?
[Which, uh, might be sooner than expected, since a low, rumbly noise can be heard from further down in the alley almost directly after he says that. There is absolutely something there...!!]
no subject
And then that noise and Lance jumps and he lets out a tiny screech.]
O-okay. When we can see it, I'll call you. So just... s-stay close, okay?
[Shinki work against ghosts, right? RIGHT?!
He slooooowly starts creeping towards the noise despite his protests, though. He's a Paladin of Voltron, after all!]
no subject
It's close.
[His voice is low, hoping not to draw any extra attention from the growling, creeping, encroaching danger.]
no subject
Lance stays close behind Keith, though. There's something about being behind the leader that fills him with a lot more courage.
He takes in a deep breath.
And then yells when he sees the abomination coming around the corner.]
Quiznak! Keith!
[He holds his hand on, hoping that Keith will come to him, aaaah]
no subject
The name you gave me, idiot!
[THAT ONE'S NOT GOING TO WORK!!!!!!]
no subject
The thing is large and gloopy - for lack of a better word - seeming to ooze towards them. And Lance suddenly has to wrack his brain for that name!!]
Ughhhh!!! What was it?!
[He smacks his fists against his head a couple of times... and then brightens.]
Kanki!
no subject
Quick as a flash, Keith is gone, and in his stead is a blue bayard settled nicely in Lance's hand. Then, shortly after that, the bayard changes shape into a more combat-ready form, and Lance will find himself with a blue and white sniper rifle ready to face off against the splooshy goopy ayakashi sliming its way toward them.]
Let's get this thing.
no subject
Holy crow, Keith! This feels just like home!
[And he wastes no time in taking a shot before hopping back to try and put some distance between them.]
no subject
Regardless, the shot that fires out of the rifle bursts with a splash, ice crystals forming at the area of impact. The ayakashi hesitates in its advancements, though just one shot isn't enough to get it to stop or turn away completely.]
Don't ease up on it! Keep it up!
