Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

Arrival/Equipment

[ Nanako shows up bright and early at Bishamon's Templ and ready to train! Although from her outfit, it might appear that she's a little confused about what she's training for. But she's going to give it her best anyway!

Although there's a slight complication in that she hasn't figured out quite what her god power is yet. So the little girl is currently standing in front of one of the training dummies concentrating very hard. Although... not much seems to be happening? ]

God Training

[ Regardless of what her solo practicing accomplishes, Nanako's been told about Bishamon before, so at some point she's going to go searching through the assembled gods in hopes of finding the woman Shun had described to her. But that doesn't mean she might not be ocasionally distracted by the sight of other gods practicing or showing off their abilities, stopping in her search to watch with an awed fascination. ]

Shinki Training

[ So Nanako's obviously not taking part in this half of the training, but as her own very first Shinki is here practicing somewhere, she slips away from the gods at some point to creep closer as a spectator, spying (not-so-subtly) on how things might be going with all the shinki gathered here. ]

[ Later in the day, Nanako can be found in the shade under one of the trees, curled up quite contentedly to munch on a snack and drink some juice. She looks a little tired and maybe a little preoccupied, a very studious frown on her face that might seem a little out-of-place on the normally cheerful god.

...Although if left to her own thoughts long enough, Nanako might just show how tired out she really is by curling up under the tree and dozing off. ]

[Hello, Nanako, have an Izumo.

There's a faint look of concern masking his face upon seeing a child alone, particularly looking so tired.

So, he walks over to her, peering at her curiously.]

Are you all right?

[ She glances up, surprised out of very deep thoughts (for Nanako) at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, although she turns a little shy under the weight of his gaze. ]

Me? Yes! I am okay, Mister. I was just... [ She trails off, trying to think how to phrase it before giving a slight shrug.

When she confesses, her voice has dropped a little, her tone a hint disappointed. ] I'm not sure I'm very good at this.

Arrival

[Oona's a little confused--this is a child, right? A human child? She spends far too much time looking this way and that, as if some caretaker will magically appear and explain everything, but when none does the mermaid decides to get answers the old-fashioned way.]

Ehh... [She trails off a little as she approaches, hands resting on her hips and her brow furrowed slightly.] You are... [How does she phrase this.]

What doing?

[ Nanako starts at the unfamiliar voice, her concentration dropping away as she turns to see who's speaking to her. But the woman standing there doesn't seem to be upset so hopefully Nanako's not in trouble. Or doing something wrong.

....not that she's very sure that she's doing this right, either. So have an exasperated six-year-old. ]

It's not working!

[Homura doesn't actually wake her up when she notices her sleeping.

But she does settle next to her with two plates of snacks and some lemonade. Whenever she's ready to wake up, Homura's right there like there's nothing odd about it at all.]

[ It's not Homura that wakes her up but nonetheless a short while later, Nanako startles awake with a soft gasp, disoriented for a moment until she spots the other girl nearby. Looking sheepish, she sleepily rubs her eyes and sits up. ]

Oops. Did I fall asleep?

You don't have to stay the whole day if it's wearing on you.

[Shun might've caught Nanako just on the cusp of falling asleep, but he crouches down to talk to her, and the remark is still a little softer than he usually allows to people he's only met once before. It's enough that Nanako showed up to train at all when she's this young, as far as he's concerned.

He was right about one thing, though - Bishamon did have a much better chance of training someone as young as her than he did.]

I'm not sleepy!

[ The familiar voice nearby startles her upright again just as she'd started to nod off, the protest probably coming too late, but she looks a little sheepish at having been caught. Liftin a hand, she rubs at her eyes. ]

I can do it, too!

[ Unfortunately, she'd been a little busy to greet everyone the minute they got in so she hadn't quite seen the child until she'd dismissed her briefing and started making rounds.

But she does however stop when she notices Nanako just watching the crowd.

....what exactly is this kid wearing?

Either way, she's headed over there anyway. As good a time as any to make sure she's not going to get in the way of anyone who decides to be a bit too vigorous with a bamboo sword. ]

They're new... but some of them show a lot of potential.

[ Nanako doesn't jump, but it's a near thing, having been deeply immersed in watching the other gods train. When she glances up to look at the speaker, her mouth drops open in surprise and she points. ]

Oh! It's you! Are you Bishi...Bishamon?

Shinki Training

[And it's as she's trying to spy on the shinki that Chikusa, with all the stealth of a professional assassin, slips into place behind her, crouching down with his arms resting on his knees.]

[He won't tell her he's there. He'll just wait to see how long it takes for her to notice herself.]

[ With all the skill of a six-year-old who knows absolutely nothing about assassins.... she has no idea he's there until she takes a step back to slip away and promptly bumps into him.

Which is enough to startle a quiet little shriek of surprise from her as she spins around in alarm. ]

[Niles notices her under the trees almost immediately. It's been quite the busy day here, and he's impressed she can keep up. It's rather charming, in a way.

He makes his way over to her, taking water for himself.]

Do you mind if I sit with you again?

[She's a polite young girl. It only feels right that he extends the same kindness she showed him before.]

nanako honey what are you trying with the equipment?

[Aymeric knows that look. It's the same one he had when he first tried to learn more about his metal manipulation powers but even so, he has to ask.]

What exactly are you trying to do, young one?

[ Much like Nanako, Lux was at the temple bright and early. Not only were first impressions very important, but there was something about getting up and moving about that felt rewarding.

Seeing the young girl there in such a strange outfit, staring down the training dummies as she was, the blond stood there to watch in surprise and curiosity. One, because wasn't she quite young? And two...

Was something supposed to happen? Should she say something? She should probably say something. ]

Excuse me.

[ Offering Nanako a bright smile, she tilted her head slightly. ]

Is there enough room here for me as well?

[ Eric sighs, tired and a bit toasty since he never took off his sweater and the training was pretty difficult.

With a water bottle in hand, he spots a little girl he knew and all by herself to boot. He steers over to her and kneels a bit beside her. ]

Training's pretty hard huh?

[Oh no... a small, cute child napping under a tree. Natsuru just couldn't ignore something like that! She ends up taking a seat nearby, if only so the girl won't wake up all alone in what might be a less than familiar place.

And she's still there when Nanako's eyes open again.]

Hey...

[Her voice is as soft and gentle as the smile she offers the girl.]

Did you have a good nap? You must have really been tired.

God Training

[Don't look now, Nanako, but it seems a dog somehow got into the arenas where the gods are training. Ammy scratches at her neck and gives a shake of her body, seeming to be waiting on a counter that was signaling...something. The wait is the worst part of this, and she's never been a patient mutt. And, to be fair, she doesn't usually train - Ammy is far too lazy - but...why not? May as well, since she's here. And try to discover that new skill she was given upon coming to this world, apparently.

When the counter sounds off with a beep, the wolf's ears perk up and she stands at attention. A medium-sized ball is shot out from a little sling, and she chases after it...but doesn't catch it. No, instead, Ammy swings her head and the flaming disc on her back (which Nanako may or may not be able to see depending on her perception of gods and her level of faith in them and Amaterasu herself) turns and strikes the ball like a bat. The ball goes flying in another direction, and Ammy gives chase again, barking and wagging her tail. She strikes at it again and again, and a counter keeps record of how many times the ball is hit. She's really racking up numbers, but one hard smack makes the ball curve toward the ground, and Ammy has to dive to try and get to it, coming close, but--

The Ball pops when it just brushes the ground, and she growls, wrinkling her nose. Bah! Well, at least she got further than before. Now to wait for it to reload again...]

[Ayumu still hasn't quite captured the precise timing she needs in order to perfectly integrate her new fire manipulation abilities into melee combat but she's getting there. But right now, she needs to cool down so she heads to a tree with a bottle of water in hand, intending to relax a bit before getting back to her training.

Her steps stop short when she sees what appears to be a child lying in the grass up ahead. Before she can stop herself, she teleports instantly to her side, quickly kneeling down to put a hand on her shoulder to shake her awake. She tries to be gentle but between the adrenaline boost she got from practicing and her own maternal instincts, there's slightly irrational, rough urgency to it.]

[Ah. A god as old as one of his shinki. He spies his random assignment being a little girl and quickly teleports back to his temple to get his big white jacket on. He hadn't planned on wearing it at all so that he could train at his fullest potential, but with such a young girl... ah... yeah he's not gonna go at his full potential anyway. He has a plan though! Beyond putting his jacket back on.

He approaches Nanako without a weapon and clears his throat. He still doesn't have a hat on so she's going to see clear as day he's not human.]

Hey there - I was assigned to train with you. I had an idea - what do you say to teleporting training? Like... a game of tag?

[Hakkai has been working on borderlines and the Bind spell, but he took a short break to set out the refreshments he brought along -- and now, on his way back to restart his practice session, he's startled to see a little girl sneaking over to observe. He pauses behind her and clears his throat.]

Why, good morning! I thought you were a god.

[Nyanta stepped away from the training to get some water when he noticed Nanako watching from afar. The well-dressed werecat quietly walks over to her.]

Why, hello there little lady. Are mew looking for someone?

[Look at his PERFECT, PRECIOUS GOD. She's so cute, spying on him and all the other shinki. Sumio really can't help himself, he sneaks up behind her and leans over her shoulder to surprise her.]

Looking for someone in particular, Nanako-chan?

[..............So Zeno is also shamelessly attempting to spy on this. Seeing Nanako doing the same just gives him an excuse; he can say he's looking after the little girl and not being an overprotective husband god.

He kneels next to Nanako, making sure some grass crunches so that she can hear him come up behind her, and whispers:]
