Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

[Add is busying himself looking for the throwing weapons when he hears a familiar voice nearby, asking a question to no one in particular. He looks up, squinting for a moment before the name clicks.]

... Ekko, isn't it? [Is he the same Ekko from before? Hard to say, but at least he was an interesting brat to talk to.]

Yeah? What's-

[He turns to the person addressing him and realizes he has no idea who this is.]

... How do you know me?

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-18 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Man, that'll make this the third person today he's had to reintroduce himself to. He frowns.]

God or shinki? [Safety first.]
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-18 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
God. Chronos, from what they told me.

Never heard of 'em before.

Greek pantheon, god and personification of time. Interesting choice. [He's been doing his research, so of course he'd look up all the other time gods. Something to keep in mind for later, perhaps.]

You were here before as a shinki. You don't remember, I take it?
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-18 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Fitting. ... Zil's probably the better choice but here I am.

Not a bit. It's all new to me. Or at least it feels like it.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0027)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-20 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hm, I don't remember seeing any Zil in my research... [maybe they're from an obscure pantheon?]

We met previously, that's all there is to it. You had a knack for mechanical work, if I'm remembering correctly. [too bad that drone project didn't get very far.]
chronobreak: (Cocky)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-20 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Zilean? He's the chronokeeper back home.

[He shrugs. He's met the guy once or twice, kind of old and weird but that sounds more up Chronos' alley than Ekko.]

I always have. Working parts might be hard to come by, if you look in the right places there's plenty to salvage.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0133)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-20 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [just a slight misunderstanding, unless a chronokeeper is also a kind of god. Though that title sounds rather curious...] I've never heard that term before. What does a chronokeeper do?

I'm sure that skill of yours will be more useful now that you have your memories. The technology here is a bit odd, but there's plenty of materials to work with on the Near Shore.
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-20 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Keep track of all possible timelines... or something like that? It's hard to get a straight answer out of the guy.

Haven't seen any hextech other than my own. Still shouldn't take too long to adjust.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0070)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-20 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
[Well then.] Sounds like someone I know. [in the flattest tone imaginable. He really shouldn't be surprised other universes have administrators like Glave.]

There's no Nasod tech in this world, either, but I've learned to deal with substitutes. The energy sources they use here are incredibly weak and inefficient, though. [they don't even use magic space crystals! what's up with that??]
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-20 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Zil's... Well. Ekko wouldn't call him an administrator of anything.]

How bad? [What do you mean no magic crystals?? But they're so useful!]
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0144)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-20 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Glave's "administrating" mostly involves bribing children to do his work for him while he watches, so... maybe not the most literal title.]

Hard to say. They seem to use a lot of liquid chemicals to produce energy for smaller objects, and there are various forms of power plants that produce energy in bulk, but they're so... bulky. And wasteful. But the surrounding El energy levels seem to be perfectly fine, so I have no idea why they struggle so much to make use of it.
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-20 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Zil knows time and is... old. So very old.]

Liquid chemicals... [The only person he can think of is Singed, and that guy is sketchy as all hell.] Liquid magic is way more effective. Maybe this world just doesn't have the more streamlined stuff.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0027)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-21 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
The Near Shore doesn't seem to use much magic at all, surprisingly. [and the Far Shore uses too much of it, in his opinion, but they are supposed to be gods so...] But I think you're right about them not having anything streamlined, at least in terms of energy usage. The technology itself can be quite impressive at times, considering how much of it they use and the limits they've imposed on themselves.
chronobreak: (Surprise)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-21 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
What? Seriously? How do they get anything done- or working, for that matter?

Can't wait to look at their stuff. [Because honestly, how?]
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0132)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-24 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
[He just shrugs. Even with the El Stone his world struggled to maintain advanced tech before burning out their energy supply, so hell if he knows how a civilization that doesn't even have that kind of power source can thrive like this.]

I'd be more interested in taking a look at yours. Hextech, was it? If it's worth my time, I wouldn't mind sharing some of my own in exchange.
chronobreak: (Cocky)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-25 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hah. [The Zero-Drive is his pride and joy.]

Let me look at yours first.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0098)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-02-25 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Unlikely. [The drones hovering around his feet recede a little closer. Well, okay, it was worth a shot.]

Fine, how about this—some of your codes in exchange for some of mine. That sounds more fair, doesn't it?
chronobreak: (Cocky)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-02-25 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
I can work with that.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0067)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-03-03 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent, kukuku. [and that way he can make sure he's not getting ripped off. It'd be annoying if their technology wasn't compatible, either...]

I'll prepare something to send to you, then. Of course, I won't send it until both sides are met. There will also be a need for a summary of how the technology functions—key materials and parts that are necessary for the device to function, especially things that might be exclusive to your own world. It's pointless to look at the instructions for something if you don't know what it looks like or how it fits together.
chronobreak: (Think)

[personal profile] chronobreak 2017-03-03 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm expecting the same in return, right?

[He could probably reverse engineer something like Vi's gloves. If electricity is a suitable enough replacement for hextech there shouldn't be a difference.]

I'll have to do some testing to find a compatible energy source if there's no hextech here. Which is seeming more likely.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0028)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-03-15 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. I can do at least that much for you. [though he'll probably skimp on a lot of the more fun details. He's not really expecting either side to give away all their best tricks, anyway.]

Mm, if you have any methods to siphon natural energy that might make it easier. Many types of Nasods can recharge themselves by absorbing energy from sunlight or other natural sources, for example. The only problem is that a true Nasod Core is needed to absorb and store that energy efficiently enough for an advanced machine to function on its own. A similar technology exists in this world, but it requires bulky devices and the energy return is pitiful. A Nasod powered by that technology would need to constantly return to a charging station to remain active, so it's not the most ideal solution.
