014 | A Whole New World
Who: Everyone!
What: Exploring the world
When: All day June 26
Where: The Near Shore (All Over)
Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!

The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.
Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.

Meeting Hall
- The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.
Locals
- Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.
Flyers
- They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.
Destruction
- Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.
Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

In Summary:
- Explore the world
- Get to know your homelands
- Investigate insurgents
- Deal with a riot
- Save Amaterasu
- Have fun~

He'll definitely do what he can to help the shinki.]
Ah, it's—different. There's still a lot to take in.
no subject
[Well, it's not like all things don't have their own dangers. ...Probably.]
Sometimes things can get hectic. [Fubuki you already said that]
... Sometimes not in the way you'd think!
no subject
[How is that any reassuring?
Though, Johan likes to think this place is infinitely better than having get possessed and sent to a world where there's hardly any life around.]
You sound like you've gone through a bit of stuff yourself.
no subject
But more like...my god disappeared, even though I knew that was a possibility. Not knowing what happened to them is...
[He doesn't finish that thought.]
That happens a lot here, from what I gather. Not just gods, either.
no subject
So that's--] Do you have a god now?
[Johan blinks, turning his head to the side as if he's listening to something before he looks back at Fubuki.]
So shinki disappears, too.
no subject
[He side-glances...and then glances over for real.] Did something happen?
[He has no idea what that gesture was about, but following it up with the question about shinki means it's related?] ... Did I worry you?
no subject
Johan smiles at him while Ruby curls up against his neck.] No, my friend was just telling me something.
[The smile turns a bit wry, little less cheery.]
No, you didn't. I'm still trying to find my footing here.
no subject
[There was something kind of familiar in that gesture, though...]
[Aaand pursuing that thought that gives him that bad feeling that's become far too familiar lately, so he stops, and hastily thinks of something else.]
I've started carrying shrine water lately. [Er, what does that have to do with—] For ayakashi. It might help. Haven't tested it myself, though.
no subject
You can use that for blight, right?
no subject
[Avoid looking at Johan and maybe he won't be reminded of the feeling of familiarity...]
Throw then run, is how he put it. [More or less.]
[But MORE IMPORTANTLY] We're here! [Because reaching the summit deserves a dramatic exclamation like that, yes. Cue rushing around getting a shot from every edge.]
no subject
[So this is what it's like to see a friend and not have them remember you.]
Sounds like a good strategy.
[But Johan watches Fubuki and laughs at the sight. At least he's content that Fubuki seems to be the same regardless.]
i'm sorry
[The sense that it isn't a weird gesture might be the culprit. Like he's used to seeing it. Some...one...]
fubuki ;;
He's heard before that shinki shouldn't be too close to anything or anyone that remind them of their former lives, but--Fubuki's the one who had approached him first and Johan couldn't very well leave him alone.
It's something he owes to Judai since he's not here, to Asuka who must have been devastated, and even to Ryou.]
...Are you okay?
[Johan's careful not to say his name, in case it might trigger something.]
I'M SORRY
Sorry... I...
[He knows he shouldn't.]
Were you waiting on me? [It's entirely hypocritical for Fubuki to be asking that when he gives Shun so much grief for blowing it off when people show concern for him, but Fubuki mostly wants to gloss over what (almost) happened.]
[But...] ...What friend were you talking to earlier?
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS
How can he answer that without possibly triggering more memories? The last thing Johan wants to do is make him remember anything that will be detrimental, and it's just.
Just not okay.]
You can't see her. [That. Should be vague enough, right?]
i couldn't hold it in i have failed my people
[He knows a dismissal when he hears it, though. Besides which...that was a question he shouldn't have asked to begin with. He'd been hoping it would settle the issue, but it looks like it backfired.]
[For a second he doesn't say anything, a moment he takes to sort himself out. Then he looks away.] Sorry. I'm...not normally like this.
you make me wanna hug fubuki--and apologize to his god for this
He'll have to be careful.
But even so, he smiles at him, friendly.] It's alright.
But--you are okay, right?
meanwhile i just wanted to torment them both fufu
[As long as he thinks of something else. Didn't work before, but that just means he has to think of something...stronger...]
... My god's temple was infiltrated once. Or, no... That's the wrong word. [He wasn't going to tell anyone about this, but it's the only thing he can think of since he's been worrying about it.] I have no evidence that it was meant as a danger to shinki. But I can't help thinking... Ayakashi-controlling masks. There's a connection, isn't there?
[He's just babbling. He's aware he's just babbling.] And...that's why I had to ask you. About shinki.
you're so evil
Ayakashi-controlling masks?
Johan glances off to the side, feeling something almost like anger swelling up in his chest but he squashes it down. This isn't something he can show to the older man.]
Can I ask why - no, how - your god's temple was infiltrated? [Or rather--no.
Johan can't show anything in regards to that, to show Fubuki how concerned he is other than general concern because that's just who Johan is.]
...You don't think I had something to do with that, did you?
:V
... I wanted to make sure nothing had happened to the shinki, I guess. [Not that he would be able to know, but he couldn't leave it alone.]
[He exhales slowly before getting to the other question.] Someone went into the garden. I guess it wasn't infiltration so much... [But considering Shun actually works on that garden, it was still...private property. Or something.]
[And while he's been talking about this stuff to get his mind off other things, he hasn't forgotten that it still might be dangerous for him to reveal too much. If anyone found out what happened here and had an interest in bringing him to this state...] ...Hey. You're...
[... UM. Don't ask him who he is don't ask him who he is...] ...Trustworthy, right?
no subject
I...don't think you'll have to be worried about that. [Not unless Fubuki thinks something has happened to his shinki, but then that's--
This whole thing is confusing. Where's Ryou, Manjoume, or even Shou to make things simpler for him?
But he's quiet, listening and he frowns.]
The gardens?
[Ah.
Johan gives him a smile.] I am. Don't worry, you can trust me. [Because seeing what's happening to Fubuki, seeing that even just the smallest familiarity is enough to get him to make such an expression is enough for Johan to do what he can for the older man.
He might have to apologize to his god somewhere down the road though.]
no subject
... Sorry. I didn't want to worry you when you've just arrived. [Referring more to the temple thing than to Fubuki's state.]
no subject
He'll make sure to get to know him better this time around. Even if he doesn't remember.]
No need to apologize. But maybe we should head down the temple now. I don't know about you, but I haven't really eaten anything and it might be good to check out the local area.
no subject
[Pictures. He has all of them. Even if they don't end up being useful to Shun, at least he has some nice pictures (his ability to frame nice shots being an entirely separate issue...)]
Uh—hey. Did you get to take a look at the view?
no subject
It was nice, breathtaking even. But even so, there's something about it that doesn't necessarily make him feel at home. Then again, nothing ever feels right to him, given how this is supposed to be the god's temple he was named after, after all.
Johan gives a nod.]
Yeah, I did. It has a nice view up here.
