Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!



The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.



Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Destruction

Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.

Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

[ Fortunately, it doesn't take too long for the spell to dissipate enough to allow him to move again. The chill still follows him, bone deep in its rampage through his body, but he knows he can't spend too much time whining about it at the moment, not when there are people who could be trapped inside the fire.

He starts to ready another flask in his grip before blinking over at the guy next to him, looking startled. ]

Pissed at the gods?

[ It's the first he's hearing of it, though he hasn't been around long enough to know much about the inner-workings of this world. Whatever he's learned so far has been scant and useless. ]

Don't tell me they blame us for everything wrong with them...

[ Maybe he should have paid attention to the lecture about answering prayers when he arrived here, instead of brushing it off. Okay, so he's been a little lax on his 'god' duties... ]

[cuteshit]

I don't think it's that, but when I got sent out to Egypt earlier today, I kept findin' these posters sayin' things like "Down with Amaterasu!" and "Don't trust the Heavens!"

[It might be his first day, but you didn't have to be a genius to know that kind of shit meant people were unhappy. He finally gets his other foot free, reeling backwards a little before regaining his balance and righting himself, spotting the flask in Noctis' hand.]

Ready to give that another shot?

[ Guess he has a point, but Noctis hadn't really investigated that in-depth, either. Instead, he'd shrugged off the posters as much as he'd shrugged off a lot of things, having figured it was just the usual here, especially since no one else had brought them up until now.

No point in worrying about it at the moment with people on the verge of being cooked alive. His next flask is ready in his hand as he gives the other guy a nod. ]

Better stay back. It's about to get heated ...er-cooled. It's about to get cooled down over here.

[ That really does sound very lame, but it's out of his mouth already. There's nothing he can do but cringe at himself before watching the frozen blast explode from the flask and freeze over the flames. This time, Noctis only experiences a bit of a chill, but nothing too debilitating as he motions to the blond to follow him. ]

Come on! There might be some survivors left inside.

[ As opposed to his dignity which has long since been dead. R.I.P. ]

[Lame or not, Kanji's heard worse. He's spent a hell of a lot of time with Teddie and his furrocious bear puns-- this is nothing. He jumps back half a foot as the flask explodes on contact, keeping the flames at bay, then nods in confirmation before pushing off, running forward towards the burning building. He doesn't need to be told a second time.]

Gotta get 'em out of there before the flames kick up again!

[Who knows what kind of damage has already been done.]

Nice work cooling it down!

You know what they say- second time's a charm.

[ Nobody says that, but Noctis is rolling with it. The point is, he finally got the flames to abate enough for him to step through, but he can't really see anything through all the billowing smoke trails flowing from the inner sanctuary of her temple. He waves his arm in front of him to try and clear it up as he moves deeper inside, unmindful of the danger. A prince he may be, but he's not about to let people get crushed or burn alive in here.

He manages to make it passed some of the fallen wreckage, but one of the roof beams starts to come apart. His eyes widen as it loosens and nearly takes out one of the servants left inside, and he has just enough time to grab the body and roll out of the way with it, shielding the servant from the debris and other pieces of fallen wood. ]

That was a close one...

[ He peers around, trying to catch sight of the blond guy from before, hoping he didn't get hit by that instead. ]

You okay over there?

[cuteshit]

Yeah--

[Kanji's voice comes from somewhere behind him, the beam having landed smack between the two of them, and Kanji raises an arm to keep more of the smoke from getting into his lungs as he coughs, feeling his eyes sting. Here he thought the heat would be the most annoying part of this.]

I'm fine! What about you-- you get 'em okay?

[He grimaces, looking to his left and down a hallway that leads further in.]

I hear voices that way, I think someone's trapped! I'll get 'em-- you guys get out of here so they can get some clean air!

[armigers]

Yeah, sweating bullets, though. Starting to think that ice barely took the edge off this fire.

[ Clearly, the only solution is to add more ice, but he'll make sure they get everyone out first, not wanting to freeze them up in the spell's hazardous effects. It would help if he could see in front of him, though, his vision thoroughly clouded by the billowing smoke. Only his ears guide him forward now, listening to more shouts before picking up the pace. ]

Yell if you need back-up in there!

[ Hopefully, he heard that. For now, Noctis drags out the servant he saved, placing them carefully on the ground before running back into the blazing heat to see if there are any more trapped. It sure would be nice to have one of those flame retardant suits the ladies from Lestallum wear, but in the absence of that, he's left to hold his arms up in front of his face while ignoring the way heat licks at his face and limbs while he tries to check on the other guy from before. ]

Hey, where'd you go?

[ The creaking from above makes it obvious that the roof isn't going to hold out very long with the wooden beams supporting it starting to get swallowed up in the flames. They'll have to completely abandon the inside of this place soon. ]

[Thankfully, Kanji's not so far off that he can't hear Noctis' return, but he's having trouble mobilizing, thanks to the fact that he'd found two survivors who were both unconscious, leaving him stranded. He lets out a sigh of relief when he hears Noctis' voice, though it gets cut off by his own coughing, having inhaled too much smoke.]

Over here! Shit--

[He hears another creak somewhere above him, and he knows that they don't have long. This is probably going to have to be the last trip in.]

I found two of 'em, but they ain't moving! [He's strong, but not strong enough to carry two unconscious bodies out by himself.] If we can each grab one of 'em and get clear, we should be okay, but we gotta move fast!
