[closed] Maybe you think that you can hide
Who: Youji & Hibari
When: [TBD]
Where: The Near Shore
What: Killing animals is not cool, dude.
"This is something that interests you, right?"
Youji points out a damaged animal pen as they approach the farmhouse where the prayer originated. Claw marks and blood spatters dot the posts and chicken wire is piled up all around after being dragged away. Life calling, things that give pleasure-- closely enough related for Hedone to get involved, Youji assumed.
Hibari seemed like he'd be well enough at home in a menagerie, so Youji was going to see if giving him a goal to fulfill or something to focus on helped. At all. In any way. Maybe this guy's own care for animals would strike some sort of human connection between them?
He pushed the door open, letting Hibari walk in first.
"I wonder what animals he was raising...?" he muttered. "Prayer wasn't that specific, though they can't have been too wild, if they weren't able to fight off whatever is in these woods..."
He wasn't expecting a prayer chosen to engage Hibari would also get his inner detective worked up, but it was what it was. He wasn't planning on going after the beast; having fought psychics, he thought that should be good for a lifetime exemption from animals with teeth and/or claws.

Youji would just get a poisonous glare for even presuming to talk to him in a slightly friendly manner; when he said going out on a prayer, he wanted to fight something, not talk to some asshole who couldn't even protect their animals.
"Clearly you aren't good at investigating if you can't even figure out that much." Hibari was folding his arms and glaring at the lady who came up to them, apparently the owner of the place. She did not look happy to see such a moody teenager.

The message was clear; look at me, not the teenager. He's not planning to help. Youji gestures toward the pens, "It's a lovely summer day, we might as well walk and talk," he says brightly.
She hesitates, before nodding. "I need to water the horses," she admits, "and make sure the dog isn't harassing the-- the animals that are left."
Her sadness was obvious, and Youji reached into his coat, thinking I should have stopped by a flowershop, but-- wait a moment-- all of a sudden he felt a fresh-cut-- and-- he frowns as he pulls the slightly-mussed, deep purple cattleya orchid from his coat. He offers it to the lady right as he recovers his smile.
"You wait here, and shame this flower for not looking as beautiful as it could," he says. Once she takes it (with a sweetly confused look on her face...), he picks up a bucket and walks quickly over to the water trough and pump. "I'll get the horses' water, and then we'll move on."

Recent events had left him jumpy and almost nervous around other people, but Hibari did his best to hide that by expelling constant annoyance. Hearing 'dog', the shinki had started walking around the farm, looking for it around the different structures.
He saw a white and black flash behind a fence, and in an instant Hibari was there, clicking his tongue softly to get the dog's attention. It seemed a bit skittish whether due to the recent attack or a new person, but Hibari just slowly sat down, holding his hand out slightly for the dog to crawl closer, sniffing at him.
