[A. Who wants to see Duel Monsters?]

[Anyone who’s walking around may stumble upon an interesting sight of a certain teenager with blue hair surrounded by a large pink cat with a jewel attached to its chest and a purple-colored cat-like creature with a ruby attached to its tail. Although, anyone who can see card spirits or able to see supernatural such as ghosts may be able to see more of these creatures surrounding Johan.

Johan himself is seated on a patch of grass, Ruby seated on his shoulder as he looks through what appears to be a deck of cards.]

I know, I know. I’m getting better!

[Amethyst Cat gives a small snort. ”Two is your limit at best. Don’t push yourself, Johan.”

Johan pouts, sullenly continuing to go through his deck.]

[B. Exploration]

[Johan is out exploring today, so he might end up wandering into somewhere he shouldn’t.

Or somewhere that may be oddly convenient for someone to get his attention and possibly request his help.

Either way, Johan can be seen or found either on the Near Shore or Far Shore. Don’t hesitate to flag him down if you wanna chat.]

Oh, what a pair of adorable cats! Are they yours?

[Luna has a soft spot for cute animals.]

[The new voice has Amethyst Cat tensing and Ruby Carbuncle scrambling a bit to hide against Johan's neck.

He looks at up Lunafreya, surprised, before he smiles brightly.]

They are. [He lifts up a hand, touching Ruby's head.] This little one is Ruby. [He gestures to Amethyst, silently reassuring it that it's alright.] This is Amethyst Cat.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle her!

[She laughs a little as she reaches a hand out.]

Are they friendly?

[rainbowmaster]

[Reaching out, Johan gently touches Amethyst Cat's neck, calming her.

He smiles a bit.]

They are. Ruby, Amethyst, say hello.

[Ruby greets Luna happily, scrambling to sit on Johan's head to look at Lunafreya better.

On the other hand, Amethyst Cat bows her head. "Hello."]

It's nice to meet you, Ruby and Amethyst.

[She turns her hand over to present her palm. Luna's got plenty of experience with magical talking animals, after all.]

A, let's say the 3rd

[Spotting people doing various bizarre things on his patrols is a regular enough experience for Shun by this point that he doesn't tend to do much more than let it divert him slightly to make sure whatever they're doing isn't a threat. So when he sees someone with a few strange-looking creatures around them from behind, he starts heading a little that way to give them a closer look.

However, it's that which lets him get close enough to spot the faces of the cards in the deck the boy is going through, and he hesitates as he recognises the distinctive design of Duel Monsters cards. Particularly, as a few of the monster cards are sorted through, and the origin of these monsters becomes much more obvious as he notices one that definitely looks like that cat that just spoke.

He doesn't see a duel disk anywhere, and talking definitely isn't a normal function of those anyway, so only one thing comes to mind - and it's something he hasn't even believed in before now.]

Are those...duel spirits? [Though there's a very faint uncertainty to the voice that comes from behind Johan, it's still very serious in tone, and on the edges of brusque.]

[Other than Fubuki, Johan doesn't know if anyone would recognize Duel Monsters cards. It hadn't taken him very long to discover that the people on the Near Shore aren't at all familiar with what it is, so he's just allowed himself to keep to the company of his Duel Monsters.

Though, there's a small tension that is quick to arrive upon hearing Shun behind him and Amethyst Cat tenses, glaring at the stranger.

Johan, however, blinks as the question registers in his mind and he looks back at Shun.]

They are. [He visibly brightens.] You know what they are? [He'd ask if Shun can see the rest of his Duel Monsters, but since Amethyst Cat and Ruby Carbuncle are the only ones with solid form at the moment, he won't.]

[At the glaring from Amethyst Cat, Shun glares right back, giving the spirit a calculating look up and down before shifting his attention to Johan and doing the same. It's a habitual motion, one he doesn't even really have to think about.

What little curiosity had been in his expression at the question clears away when it's confirmed, something more thoughtful but also definitely more closed and not particularly friendly replacing it. He wouldn't have really considered the notion that much if he hadn't talked to Ren about that sort of thing before, but it's certainly a strange thought that the rumours he'd heard might be real. Given his history, though, he's also not much inclined to immediately trust any duelist he happens to run across.]

You're the first other duelist I've met here. [Technically true - the ones from his world, he'd already met, and he's definitely not playing his hand regarding Yuto.] I guessed. I didn't think they existed, but you don't have a duel disk on you, so there's not much else they could be.

[rainbowmaster]

[Johan reaches out, placing his hand on Amethyst Cat's back, calming her.

If this guy was a bad guy, he would've done something more than just inquire if they were Duel Spirits. Ruby, on the other hand, is looking at Shun curiously, head tilted to the side.

Upon hearing that he was the first duelist he's met, Johan has to hold back the urge to ask if he knows Fubuki and if he knew Fubuki is a duelist, but that's just causing more problems for his friend. A bit of a second as it fully registers, though.]

You're a Duelist, too?

[Johan's expression falls a bit at the reminder that he doesn't have his duel disk on him. If this guy really is a duelist, it would've been nice to have a Duel.]

So you don't normally see Duel Spirits then.

A, let's say the 6th

[Ren is out on one of his daily morning jogs (okay, so maybe it's almost too late for it to still be morning, but sleeping in sometimes is important too), when he comes across Johan and passes right by him.

It isn't until he's already a few dozen feet away that he realizes that the guy he just passed a) had some really cute but unusual cat friends with him and b) he was definitely shuffling through some cards. Ren's done that enough times to know what it looks like from a glance, even if he couldn't tell what they looked like otherwise.

That alone is enough for him to stop and backtrack so he can get a better look, and he waves a little at the smaller cat as he approaches.]

Your friends are too cute--I had to come back and say hello to them! Do they have names?

[Johan looks up at Ren before he looks back at his Duel Spirits.

A smile as he turns back to him.]

Amethyst Cat and Ruby Carbuncle.

[Amethyst Cat studies Ren before dipping her head a bit in greeting.]

[Ren doesn't quite bow back--Amethyst Cat gets a cheery wave of her own instead--but he does lean over a little just to get a better look at the cards Johan is holding. He's not expecting much...so he looks absolutely delighted when he sees that they're a design he recognizes.]

Oh, Kurosa-kki's cards are like that! [Excuse him while he just. sits down. So he can be excited at Johan's level instead of towering over him.] They're for Duel Monsters, right?

[Amethyst Cat doesn't seem to mind his presence much, turning back to Johan:

Johan, on the other hand, looks pleasantly surprised.] You know about Duel Monsters?

[Someone knows about Duel Monsters! That makes Johan visibly brighten.]

/crashes through the wall (B)

[Fubuki's intermittent search for sketchy teas isn't always on his mind, but when it is, he just goes around and blithely pops into whatever sketchy herbal shop catches his eye. There are some advantages to not being noticed easily on the Near Shore...]

[When he notices Johan a bit of a ways away, he stops in his tracks. He takes a moment to make sure he'll be alright, and...]

Hey! Fancy seeing you on solid ground! [Implying that temple from before wasn't...solid... okay maybe he could have thought that through a little more.] How've you been?

[Johan is surprised when he hears that familiar voice, having not seen Fubuki around lately, but he does give the shinki a bright smile.]

I'm pretty good. How about you?

[You're not going to go weird again, are you? Johan will really have to find Fubuki's god in that case and apologize.]

[blizzardrock]

Nothing will happen on my watch. [He means it in both senses, because while he is perfectly shameless most of the time, that-one-time-that-must-not-be-thought-about was actively dangerous in addition to embarrassing. He can't make himself incurious, but he can sort of...not think about things the way he not-thinks about other things. Which isn't very healthy on the whole, but the alternative is worse.]

[... Speaking of alternatives.] You wouldn't happen to know about medicinal teas, do you? [He is going to have an alternative on hand to knock out his god even if it kills him. (Which it probably will.) (But he is already dead.)]

[rainbowmaster]

[That gets a bit of a smile from him. He really doesn't want anything to Fubuki, so it's partially why he's never sought out the shinki again.

But that question gets him to blink, curious and maybe a little concerned.]

Um, a little bit. Why? [Because while Johan is familiar with teas, he's not exactly the best at seeking them out.

He probably should ask someone to teach him more about teas while he's here.]

[ On his way home from buying some spices (cinnamon in particular) but he pauses when he sees the cats. ]

You have really pretty kitties.

Ah, thank you.

[Johan smiles sheepishly, but gratefully at him. Although, Ruby Carbuncle and Amethyst Cat looks a bit insulted at being called 'kitties'.

He notices the spices.]

Were you out shopping?

[smilingbullet]

[ He's not insulting them, he's just a little silly. ]

Yeap, just a little bit. I'm D2. Does your friends have names? And do you?

[rainbowmaster]

[It's not that he sounded like he was insulting them; they just don't like the terms for. Reasons.

Johan nods.]

This is Ruby Carbuncle and Amethyst Cat. I'm Johan Anderson.

B, early in the month

Watch out...

[The lethargic warning comes from not too far from Johan, a certain lanky teen wearing a way too large knit hat. What he's warning about? Well, an incoming jellyfish ayakashi swarm from around a corner, it seems. At least they're jellyfish and not that fast.]

[Really, he just wanted to come and use the university's library and computers... But it looks like, as with so many other schools, this one is being plagued by certain types of ayakashi too. How troublesome.]

[rainbowmaster]

[Johan blinks at the warning, turning to give the person a curious look before he recognizes him.

He would greet him, but then he sees the swarm of jellyfish ayakashi and he jerks a bit in surprise.]

You attracted a group of ayakashi?

[There is some panic in Johan's voice because while they're not fast, they certainly are large in numbers.]

That's a rude accusation... I haven't done anything besides exist.

[Which is indeed something that gets an ayakashi's attention, when it's a lone soul on their own, but- ]

They're feeding off the athletes here, I had nothing to do with it.

[Even as he talks, he makes sure to keep a nice solid distance from the jellyfish.]

[rainbowmaster]

Doesn't that mean it's enough to get their attention on you?

[Johan may be concerned, but right now, his attention is mostly taken by the ayakashi.

A glance at him. They were feeding off of the athletes?]

Is your god around? [Because Johan himself doesn't have a shinki, but even so, he reaches for his deck, fingers brushing against the surface of a card and he concentrates.

Soon enough, Cobalt Eagle appears in front of them.]
