We are from distant worlds
Who: Johan and Open
What: Johan decides he wants to explore and possibly get to know everyone better
Where: Near, Far, Wherever you are~
When: All of July (IC)/April (OOC)
[A. Who wants to see Duel Monsters?]
[Anyone who’s walking around may stumble upon an interesting sight of a certain teenager with blue hair surrounded by a large pink cat with a jewel attached to its chest and a purple-colored cat-like creature with a ruby attached to its tail. Although, anyone who can see card spirits or able to see supernatural such as ghosts may be able to see more of these creatures surrounding Johan.
Johan himself is seated on a patch of grass, Ruby seated on his shoulder as he looks through what appears to be a deck of cards.]
I know, I know. I’m getting better!
[Amethyst Cat gives a small snort. ”Two is your limit at best. Don’t push yourself, Johan.”
Johan pouts, sullenly continuing to go through his deck.]
[B. Exploration]
[Johan is out exploring today, so he might end up wandering into somewhere he shouldn’t.
Or somewhere that may be oddly convenient for someone to get his attention and possibly request his help.
Either way, Johan can be seen or found either on the Near Shore or Far Shore. Don’t hesitate to flag him down if you wanna chat.]
[C. Wildcard]

Johan hums, undisturbed by the way Shun's eyes narrow as he leans back, head tilted to the side as he hears his own Duel Spirits talking amongst themselves. He knows that many of them were initially distrusting of strangers, particularly after what's happened.
His eyes shoots back to Shun, seeing the movement. Was he going to pull out a weapon or his Deck?
But at the question, Johan blinks once before seemingly looking at something over Shun's shoulder. He shakes his head.]
Nope. I see a spirit I don't know right behind you. [And it's glaring at him, only causing Johan to smile at it. It won't do anything to him, he knows, so he just smiles. Besides, he has a feeling his own Duel Spirits will react just as quick as Shun's if it ever attacks.] It's been glaring at me the moment we began talking.
no subject
While Shun probably could pull out his dagger from that angle if he wanted to, it seems that the "weapon" is the duel disk itself, held that way out of habit. Or at least, he makes no move to pull anything else out despite that bearing.
As Johan looks over Shun's shoulder, Shun glances back briefly as well, looking from his level to a little way up. Obviously, he can't actually see anything there, but he frowns slightly as he turns back towards Johan.]
It's not like they can change how they look at you. [All Shun's monsters are robots, so that does make anything but looking like they're glaring a little difficult.] What does it look like?
no subject
He tilts his head, looking at the duel disk. It certainly makes him curious, just to be able to see what kind of functions it has even without the Real Solid Function equipped into it.
However, he does manage to grin sheepishly at him.] No, but it's definitely giving off the feeling of glaring at me.
[He's been around Duel Spirits for so long, he can. Sort of tell how it feels. A pause before he describes Vanishing Lanius to him.]
no subject
Almost as soon as Johan starts describing the monster, Shun starts to recognise it - broadly, it shares some features with Rise Falcon, but there are certain others that make it much clearer which monster it actually is, and there's an almost complete lack of surprise in Shun's features as he nods understandingly.]
Vanishing Lanius, then. Would've been my first guess outside of the falcons. [And from the look of those monsters Johan had around him before, monsters the size of the falcon line would probably be a rare sight.
With a somewhat resigned expression crossing his face, Shun's grip on his duel disk shifts, and he holds it up to his chest as if in solidarity to his monsters.] If there's spirits here as well, then they've been through as much as I have. Don't act surprised if they're as mistrustful as I am.
no subject
Johan may look a little amused upon seeing the understanding masking Shun's face, his eyes once more glancing over his shoulder to look at Vanishing Lanius. The glare hasn't softened, but it doesn't seem to deepen either. It's a big monster, probably a bit bigger than Cobalt Eagle and Sapphire Pegasus, but definitely smaller than Rainbow Dragon. Though, Johan wouldn't be surprised if Shun has an even bigger monster lurking in his deck somewhere.]
Your deck is comprised of falcons?
[A smile, a little more strained this time.]
I won't be. They're your cards, right, and your friends? It's only natural that their first instinct would be to protect you and help you out.
no subject
Johan still seems to have missed the point a bit regardless, and Shun shakes his head at the question.]
The Raid Raptors are birds of different kinds, not just falcons - but my strongest monsters are an evolving line of falcons. My ace is one of those, which is why it's what I'd expect you to see if you hadn't said it was Vanishing Lanius.
[At the very least, Johan seems to understand where Shun considers his deck's loyalties to lie, and he inclines his head slightly.]
If they're anything like my other comrades, that would matter to them more than it would to most. But if you can prove yourself trustworthy, maybe you have some hope.
[There's something almost like a challenge in that statement. Shun's not averse to making friends or trusting people, but he does have somewhat strict standards as to what that entails.]
no subject
So birds in general — no, more like birds of prey. It seems...oddly fitting for him, and judging the way Vanishing Lanius is looking at him, he supposes it could be a lot worse.
At least there aren't any evil Duel Monsters around here.
At the almost challenge, Johan looks interested enough that he gives him a grin.] Guess I'll just have to prove my trustworthiness to you then. [Hey, if he can make friends with a challenge, why not?]
no subject
[Unless Johan runs some kind of deck revolving around low-levelled monsters. It's not universal, but it's still fairly rare to find high-levelled monsters that small.
The grin doesn't seem to reassure Shun any, especially considering he has a little too much experience with what certain upbeat kinds of people think will prove their trustworthiness or friendship or whatever else. As long as he's more like Ren than Hajime about it, though, there might be less of a problem.]
We'll see.
no subject
While they normally take after Johan in a happy demeanor, they were also fiercely protective, so it wasn't anything too surprising to Johan. He turns back to Shun.]
It's Rainbow Dragon.
[He's definitely not like Hajime - a lot more mellowed out than she is.]
no subject
Hearing the name of that monster does help put the names of the monsters he saw before into context, though - Ruby and Amethyst, so red and purple. Then there's at least five other monsters Shun hasn't seen yet, and that's assuming that's all that's in the deck monster-wise.]
Sounds showier than it needs to be, but it's not like plenty of Dragon-types aren't like that...and Light monsters, with a name like that. [He definitely sounds like he doesn't see the appeal, but he also doesn't sound dismissive so much as just not understanding. Given how he tends to react to people insulting his deck, he's not going to go out of his way to do it to someone else.]
no subject
There were more, of course, but Johan wouldn't tell him. With a deck like Johan's that depends on Field Spells, it was hard, but it was more often than worth it in the end.]
Maybe, but the guy who made it was the one who named it, after all. [Not true, but:] I hope there can be a day where we can Duel each other, though.
[Birds of prey versus Crystal beasts. It'd be an interesting duel for sure.]
no subject
As for the point of dueling, Shun gives Johan a somewhat critical look up and down. If he went abroad just to participate in a tournament, it can probably be safely assumed he's a serious player, but Shun's met a lot of so-called "serious players" who couldn't play their way out of a paper bag.]
Don't expect any mercy if it ever happens.
no subject
It depends on what he means by serious. Johan is considered one of the best duelists in his generation, though Judai definitely takes the title for reasons. He grins, though. It wasn't a rejection, so he'll take it.]
Wouldn't dream of it.
no subject
At that answer to his remark, Shun eyes Johan a moment or two longer. It at least sounds like he's prepared for a serious duel if it ever comes to that, so for now, he'll keep it in mind. It'll probably have to wait until this guy's duel disk ever shows up...if it does.
He doesn't really have anything more to say, though, so he shrugs slightly and half-turns back the way he came. His eye is still on Johan, though.]
Unless you have anything else to ask me, I have something to get back to. [Technically, the patrol isn't urgent, since he has nothing in his schedule directly after it that means he can't pause in the middle, but he is at least giving Johan the offer of asking any of the multitude of questions he might have after that exchange rather than just walking off.]
no subject
He hopes his disk shows up soon though.
There's a flicker of surprise at his words. He was half-expecting Shun to walk off; it wouldn't be surprising if he did, but for him to linger?]
Is it just you here who knows about Duel Monsters? [Safer topic than going into more about this place and shinki and what exactly it means for Johan to do.]
no subject
There's also no way in hell he's mentioning Yuto to someone he just met either, though, so there's a brief pause before he answers.]
Right now, yes. There's one god who'd know it by name and recognise the cards because I told him about it, but he's not a duelist himself, and any duelist shinki wouldn't remember it. So you might want to be cautious about who you tell.
[There's a note of warning in that which runs so deep as to almost be a threat. As vague as he's being, he also wants to make it clear it's not information Johan should be exchanging frivolously.]
no subject
The only shinki Johan knows here that's a duelist is Fubuki, but if Shun doesn't know it since Fubuki himself doesn't know, then it's best not to mention it. This way, Fubuki will be safe on the off chance Shun doesn't know about Fubuki.
He still needs to find Fubuki's god.]
I will.
[The warning us heard loud and clear.]
no subject
He still keeps the other in his peripherals until he gets out of sight, though. It's not in his nature to turn his back on someone so easily.]
