Prayer #34 Write-in for Tanabata:
Forseti temple in Heligoland got wreaked by a small gang of teenagers. It's completely trashed much to the dismay of the fisherman that visits often. After having his fish saved he doesn't want the island to lose Forseti's blessing. It's too much work for one old man to handle. His granddaughter, that has come all the way from Japan to visit, suggests making a tanabata wish and to hang it up in the temple. So, with his granddaughter's help, he wishes for the temple to be cleaned up back to it's respectable state.
Prayer #36 Follow-up to 34:
The ayakashi that is causing all of the ruckus around Heligoland looks like a ram with one broken horn, and runs around with several groups of teenagers encouraging them to wreck any sort of building with a bit of prestige to it, which included Forseti's temple. They will need to track the ayakashi down by the trail of damage it's leaving in its wake.
Prayer #35:
Forseti is also the god that "stills all strife" in people's bonds! Unbeknownst to Aymeric, the temple-trashing teens actually started their messy activities because of a misunderstanding between one of the boys and a friend who didn't participate. That friend saw the fisherman's Tanabata wish and asked about it, wishing on the same paper that Forseti might repair the misunderstanding. The prayer was thus literally buried by the trashing of the temple. Time to set things right!
Prayer #37 Follow-up to 35:
With the advice given a success, the teenagers and the wishmaker seem to be at peace with each other! However, there's still something lurking around. Turns out it's a slippery naga ayakashi; time to track it downAND HIT IT WITH A FRIENDSHIP BEAMand ensure no more misunderstandings happen this time around!
Prayer #38 Follow-up to 36 and 37:
Our favorite fisherman, Frisch Singer, has gone out for his normal work and then a storm kicked up all of a sudden! Unbeknownst to the trio in Heligoland, it is a Draugen - the ghost of a man that died at sea - style ayakashi. The granddaugter makes a second wish, that her grandfather will come home safely! Little does she realize it will take the trio fighting a monster to bring him home.
/third after pulling her head out of Stormblood
[It's not like he hasn't been through worse but then again, dragons are not the type to make others poisoned by mere touch. Unless you're Nidhogg. Seriously, fuck that guy.]
Let us not dally any longer; come Chinki!

Kayonaga is being Suijin's eyes, carefully keeping a lookout in all directions for anything that would disturb his god's work.]

Unfortunately, now she can't speak, but she and Roxas clear a spot near the water. Then, they have enough space for Roxas to drop down on one knee and dip Kairi's hand in the swamp water. Knowing what she's doing this for, it doesn't bother her, the slightly weird smell and texture by comparison to the ocean.
Ebbing out from where her glove is touching the water, a sweeter smell and clearer color starts to spread. Surely it will bother the ayakashi, even though it won't outright destroy all of them. Anything to distract them.]

Familiar light pillars pop in and out, some may remember it as Circle of Scorn followed by another light based attack, Flash. Well that's certainly enough to get their attention off the others, right?]
no subject
Just that series of attacks from Aymeric seems to be enough to provoke the ayakashi in their direction, leaving Kairi and Suijin free to move for the moment. Flashy moving targets seem appealing to them.]
no subject
Aymeric's lure is quite effective, especially when it comes to the ayakashi's choice between fighting a ready target, or wading through blessed water.
It is impossible to count them as they dart to-and-fro to begin their attacks on Aymeric, but there seem to be a good twenty or so otter-like ayakashi swarming towards them. In the rear a large ayakashi with elk-like antlers is lumbering nearer, unheeding of the ayakashi it may crush beneath its feet. The ayakashi making up the dam are stirring, but making no movement yet. That may change once the blessed water spreads far enough.
Wary of the large one, Kayonaga sends a borderline to stop it from advancing, so that the otters can be dealt with first. He then sends cutting borderlines into the crowd of ayakashi, wounding the otter-like ones with arrow-like accuracy that prevents them from swarming Aymeric all at once.
The rest is up to the god and his shinki.]

Gripping his two keyblades in his hands, braced by Kairi's gloves, Roxas tears into one of the ayakashi with a Rend from Kairi following it up - although it takes a flat-palmed smack between the eyes to do it. That gets the attention of the other two, as one reaches out with froggy digits to try and get Roxas by the face. His keyblades disappear and his hands go up with Kairi's hands to brace, allowing her shinki power to protect him from getting blighted.
With a quick teleport out of the way, Roxas can get behind that one to Rend it with more of a chopping action that time. Still requires Kairi's glove to come in contact with the ayakashi. Reeling on the last one as it tries to get Roxas from behind, both of his hands come up to clap that one around the head like two cymbals in one of those cartoons. That's three more gone and he can dunk both of Kairi's gloves back in the water to get some more purification going.]

Running forward, he and Goten slash through a few more small ayakashi but have to wonder if destroying the elk one would cause the smaller ones to disperse.]

Seeing Aymeric making a move forward towards the elk-like ayakashi, he lets the god through his barrier and the otter-like ones that were focused on him are left behind, scratching frantically at the borderline. Whatever the god did to attract their attention was quite effective on them, and so long as there was his borderline between them and Aymeric, Kayonaga would let it stand like that.
Suijin looks up from the water for a moment to take in the situation. Seeing how things stand she calls out quickly,]
Once Aymeric has defeated the large ayakashi I shall disrupt the dam. Be ready! Roxas, move between the dam and I so that Kairi can purify all the water I send that direction.
no subject
Thankfully Roxas is very adept at navigating his way around a chaotic skirmish like the one Aymeric and Goten have gotten themselves into.]
'I'm ready!'
[She makes that promise where only her god can hear, but in her mind it's a promise to Suijin as well. Out of instinct, she stretches out her hands to match what Roxas is doing. His keyblade disappears and then it's just her gloves ready to connect with the rest of the water.]

...what? Shield Lob wouldn't really work without something to throw and since Aymeric doesn't carry a shield, he has to improvise. And it bonks the ayakashi upside the head and more than likely annoyed it besides it being a god in the area who happens to be killing a lot of them around. He's not even sorry. The lord commander begins his usual assault on the ayakashi and it can feel itself get a bit weaker strength wise when multiple slashes go through; Aymeric just calls it Rage of Halone and it'll only sap its strength for about 20 seconds. But he doesn't stop, continuing on with his attacks. But even so, he can't help but speak to Goten even while the boy is in vessel form.]
Are you feeling alright there?
[Yes they need to defeat the thing but it would be a bit hard if one of them was off balance. Saying a quick Rend spell, he is not sure if the beast is weakened enough to take the hit or not. But at least he can keep the focus on him and not the rest.]
no subject
[Faltering. Or whatever word Aymeric said earlier. But hopefully it gets the point across.
Goten is excited even with everything going on and Aymeric can probably feel that bubbling energy through their bond. It may be a serious mission and they have a job to do but Goten practically lives for this stuff. Being teamed up with Aymeric is the best and he's not about to slow down if his favorite god is. Teaming up with Aymeric and Kairi, there's no stopping them! Or that's what he believes. Suijin is amazing too!
The energy making up the translucent blade continues to shine bright as it tears anything Aymeric slashes through. It radiates bright blue, leaving fate trails after each swing. He does his best to keep his focus with Aymeric, trying to keep with him and not let his attention waver as they attack the large elk. With the the Rend Spell, it not difficult to slice through the ayakashi's front.]

Ayakashi are powerful when they have the upper hand, but many small ones are cowards.
And sure enough, when the pure water crashes against the dam it shudders and begins to dissolve into a myrrad of small mantis-like ayakashi swarming about. But although they are in disarray, they still have the instinct to attack the delicious-smelling beings so near them.
Whether they attempt to flee or come to attack, Suijin has no intention of letting any ayakashi escape. Leaving the rod that is Saki in the ground, Suijin holds out her hand towards Kayonaga.]
Come, Tsuki!
[The kanji 通 flashes from him and her shinki flies to her hand, an elegant but deadly ko-naginata. Unhindered by the water that is more than ankle-deep in places, nor her sodden kimono, Suijin moves swiftly to engage the mantis-like dam ayakashi. Wherever the long blade of her polearm sweeps, akakashi are destroyed.
She calls out one last command:]
Finish them all!
I lied. 13/20 character comments orz
So even though they're in the middle of a battle, Kairi herself is kind of zen-ed out, to keep her energy up and not stress. They're going to do what Suijin asked and purify this place. They're going to get rid of the ayakashi in the area. It will happen, with her at Roxas's side throughout.
However, that also means she's close to her limit and Roxas can feel it. She's done a lot with him but it was always fighting the ayakashi, not her purification. After a brief private conversation with him, he decides she needs a break regardless of her own opinion on the matter.]
Kairi, revert!
[Ah!]
-- Wait!
[But Kairi's off on the side of the lake now, while Roxas returns to Aymeric's side as another distraction for some of the ayakashi while Aymeric can Rend and Roxas can't.
Kairi tries to stand but stays on her knees, exhaling sharply with the effort.]
14/20
At least these ayakashi are small enough for a decent Rend spell and he has Goten to thank as well. That child deserves a cake for this. Or something that won't causs a sugar crash.]
15/20
Before he can ask Aymeric about it, or rather get Aymeric to poke Roxas about it, the ayakashi are back on them. With his focus back on what they're doing the energy from the sword flares up once again with another Rend spell easily slicing through multiple ayakashi at a time. They manage to clear the area around them. It's a good thing because Goten is starting to get tired. Aymeric can probably feel a bit of that from the shinki.]
no subject
She does not see the wisdom in his leaving his shinki and himself vulnerable, and her eyes narrow.
Breaking from her assault on the ayakashi for a brief moment she calls out towards the rod in the ground,]
Return, Suna.
[Suijin need not give the old shinki any instruction- she knows to watch after the brash young ones.]
[Sunanaga backs her way towards Kairi, her fingers ready to slash or ward off any ayakashi that dare come close enough.]
Just because our task with the water is finished does not mean that everything is complete. [Sunanaga's tone is sharp, but she also knows where to turn her exasperation.]
What was that god of yours doing, releasing you into the midst of this?
[While the gods are making short work of the swarm of ayakashi, it is still far from safe yet.]
16/20
I- I'm not sure.
[From her perspective, Roxas is in very little danger as far as getting himself hurt, but now she feels pretty useless by comparison.]
Do I look strange?
[She looks to Sunanaga for confirmation, but tries to stand again.]
Oh, maybe... maybe that's why.
[It takes her an extra effort of pushing up on her knees as she gets her balance.]
Trying not to get dizzy - been awhile since this happened... getting sick around the ayakashi like this.
[Roxas certainly doesn't look like he's going to come back for her in the next few seconds either.]
17/20
[He calls out as he keeps trying to force any ayakashi back but he knows Goten cannot keep up his energy for very long. Aymeric is trying to use his own strength more to compensate, praying that this will soon be done.]
Just hang in there a bit more Goten. I won't let you fall.
18/20
[The words do come a bit a bit of effort. He's not hurt, just tired and he can feel his own energy depleting. They have fought ayakashi before but not this many or for this long. Goten isn't even sure how many times they've Rend now either. But he's still fueled by determination, stubbornness and the need to protect Aymeric. Roxas seemed to be aiding them too, though Goten doesn't understand why Kairi isn't with him.]
no subject
You're a delicate young thing, aren't you.
[Looking up, Sunanaga surveys the situation.]
It appears that our attack on this cursed stronghold of ayakashi was a success in the end.
--
[Indeed, instinctively realizing that they have lost, the remaining ayakashi are now trying to make a quick escape.
Suijin, of course, is having none of that and with one long sweep of her ko-naginata a borderline is formed that cuts off a group of fleeing ayakashi. She rends them quickly, then turns to see how the others are faring at the last.]
19/20
But on the other hand, this is also why she's training.]
I'm doing my best to get stronger - every day. That's why I can't turn away when I get sick around them - if I never face them, how can I push that feeling down long enough to help Roxas fight them?
[She's relieved they succeeded after all, in no small part to Aymeric and Goten taking on the other group, but she also wonders if either of them heard what Sunanaga said.]
Please, if you have any advice... now that they're gone - I'll listen, I promise. I just want to be the best shinki I can be for Roxas.
[Roxas certainly seems to acting like he can't hear them. Kairi assumes that means they'll be talking about this topic later, in private.]
20/20
That...should be the last of them.
