Prayer #34 Write-in for Tanabata:

Forseti temple in Heligoland got wreaked by a small gang of teenagers. It's completely trashed much to the dismay of the fisherman that visits often. After having his fish saved he doesn't want the island to lose Forseti's blessing. It's too much work for one old man to handle. His granddaughter, that has come all the way from Japan to visit, suggests making a tanabata wish and to hang it up in the temple. So, with his granddaughter's help, he wishes for the temple to be cleaned up back to it's respectable state.

Prayer #36 Follow-up to 34:

The ayakashi that is causing all of the ruckus around Heligoland looks like a ram with one broken horn, and runs around with several groups of teenagers encouraging them to wreck any sort of building with a bit of prestige to it, which included Forseti's temple. They will need to track the ayakashi down by the trail of damage it's leaving in its wake.

Prayer #35:

Forseti is also the god that "stills all strife" in people's bonds! Unbeknownst to Aymeric, the temple-trashing teens actually started their messy activities because of a misunderstanding between one of the boys and a friend who didn't participate. That friend saw the fisherman's Tanabata wish and asked about it, wishing on the same paper that Forseti might repair the misunderstanding. The prayer was thus literally buried by the trashing of the temple. Time to set things right!

Prayer #37 Follow-up to 35:

With the advice given a success, the teenagers and the wishmaker seem to be at peace with each other! However, there's still something lurking around. Turns out it's a slippery naga ayakashi; time to track it down AND HIT IT WITH A FRIENDSHIP BEAM and ensure no more misunderstandings happen this time around!

Prayer #38 Follow-up to 36 and 37:

Our favorite fisherman, Frisch Singer, has gone out for his normal work and then a storm kicked up all of a sudden! Unbeknownst to the trio in Heligoland, it is a Draugen - the ghost of a man that died at sea - style ayakashi. The granddaugter makes a second wish, that her grandfather will come home safely! Little does she realize it will take the trio fighting a monster to bring him home.

If it weren't about Heligoland, Goten and Aymeric probably wouldn't have thought to bring Kairi along on this prayer, but she knew the area as well as Goten did and since they were responsible for drawing Aymeric's attention to it - whoops - it seemed appropriate penance (to her) that she should help them literally clean up the nearest temple to where they'd previously defeated those ayakashi.

At least, that's what draws the trio there to begin with.

It doesn't take much to draw Aymeric to Heligoland, just the simple name gets the man to ask when they were ready to depart. It did not take long for Aymeric to enjoy the island not for the tourism but rather the kindness of the people living there. He found himself coming back just to look around and people watch, including the fisherman that they helped recently.

Ok, he may have a soft spot.

But it was strange to get a prayer in the style of Tanabata to come help with the temple there and how it became a mess. While there seems to be no fighting involved, Aymeric is glad for something simple. And let's be real, he'd do anything to thank the elder shinki for helping Goten out before and here.

"Tis not far from here." He speaks once they arrived. "I'm quite surprised from how quick the temple appeared that something happened. Hopefully the one who requested us is alright."

This is going to be his third trip to the island and certainly not the last. It's home to one of Aymeric's temples and seemed to already charmed his god. Goten enjoys it too. For how busy the docks are, the temple is a bit further into the island. There's more greenery and its not nearly as busy. Almost like its the hidden heart of the island. Still, getting a wish for cleaning or whatever sure didn't sound that interesting. Maybe between the three of them this could be at least a little fun.

"I'm sure they're okay, Aymeric. The temple is just dirty right?" Honestly, it sounds like a super boring job. Goten barely washes his own hair let alone a whole temple. Where do you even start?

But he follows along, taking the lead every so often before getting distracted by lizards and having to jog to catch back up.

Luckily for everyone, the temple really isn't that far and it soon comes into sight.

Kairi shakes her head, unconvinced. "I don't think rowdy little rebellious kids are the type to just track dirt everywhere, Goten..."

And she immediately understands why Aymeric wanted an extra pair of hands once they get to the temple. There's litter everywhere, and some of the status were knocked over - some broken, even. That's just what she can see from the entrance! "How awful! I didn't want to be right!"

"Aymeric... is this why you wondered if your follower was alright? Does he know who did all of this? I know I said rowdy kids, but this is kind of extreme... like they had it out for you - Forseti - personally or something."

Prayer #36

It's while they're cleaning up that Kairi notices the trail of debris that extends in a long line away from the temple. She's not too good with a compass, so she's not sure where it's heading, only that for sure this isn't part of the rest of the mess they've almost completely finished cleaning up. It's leading away from the temple too deliberately.

"Hey, Aymeric? Goten? Have you guys seen this?" Maybe she's just seeing things - like maybe they noticed this before and she didn't, or it's been here since the last time they were there?

Aymeric's grateful that there were cleaning supplies tucked away within the temple so he does take his time with picking up and sweeping any pieces that cannot be fixed. Again, these were just things that can be replaced. He's trying to think of things for Tanabata until Kairi calls out. He's about to ask what was going on until his eyes set on the trail in front of them.

"This was not here before our arrival." Which means the culprits knew they were here. "But some of this does not match the mess that was inside the temple."

Goten is a kid on a mission. If there's ever been a way to make him clean anything so eagerly, this is it. He actually doesn't do too bad at it, minus missing a few spots here and there. Grinning, he holds his fist up and gently bops Nimbus with it. Good Job!

It's Kairi calling out that catches Goten's attention next and he makes his way over quickly.

The trail is weird. Goten blinks at it, head tilting to the side. That's so weird...

"I didn't notice it before...hey, the temple is pretty much clean, right? Maybe this has something to do with what happened to it?" He points to the line. "We should check it out! C'mon!"

He's not waiting for a yes or a no, but already following the trail with or without the pair. Who knows where or who it leads too, but he's gonna find out.

Kairi turn to Aymeric and shrugs. "So much for wanting to win the game, I guess - and he can fly!" She calls out with both hands cupped around her mouth. "Goten, wait for us!"

As if that's going to work, but she's gotta try. "It's not even like it came from the temple, is it? It's... food wrappers and... I think someone lost a one of those sweatbands? And a napkin? A take-out box? Someone was trying to get somewhere fast and left their trash?"

It's her first guess, but she snickers a bit. "Sorry, didn't mean to rhyme."

Prayer #35

Once Aymeric and Goten have taken care of the ram ayakashi, Kairi descends back to the ground on Nimbus. By then the boys have wandered off, presumably after forgetting what had happened with the ram ayakashi, but they're not too far gone just yet.

For which Kairi's glad, based on what she needs to ask about now.

"Hey Aymeric... I don't know if you noticed... the boys who ruined your temple were getting along pretty well when we showed up, right? They were planning things together... as soon as you started fighting the ayakashi, they started fighting too." And that seems REALLY weird to her from what she thought she knew of ayakashi and how they influenced Near Shore people.

"I was too focused on the ayakashi and ensuring it stayed away from them to take notice." It is pretty hard to pay attention to both, especially with one ready to kill you due to making it mad on purpose. By this time, the ram ayakashi was dealt with and everything seems to be just fine. Keyword: seems. Aymeric still believes he needs to speak with the fisherman and his granddaughter about this but he can't help but feel like there's still something...did he miss a spot while they were cleaning other than the trash trail?

"Hmm, for now let us return to the temple."

Kairi has a point. Goten hadn't noticed it during the fight, he was to "in the moment" for that. But why would they fight too? Maybe the ayakashi made them? It was gone now though...

"Shouldn't we look for those guys though? They couldn't of gotten to far, right? Does beating that ayakashi mean they're going to stop messing places up?" Goten chimes in with all his questions. He gently tugs on Aymeric's pant leg dispite the questions being directed at both, Kairi and Aymeric.

While the young shinki gets the desire to return to the temple, he doesn't want to leave those boys alone if they're going to give them more stuff to clean up. One temple is enough...and Goten hasn't forgotten about the game he still needs to win. Even with the ram ayakashi gone, something just feels off.

Aymeric is both the adult and the god of the group, so if he says that they need to head back to the temple, she's not about to argue. "It's okay Goten. Besides, we need to figure out who won the contest, right?" It'll give him something else to think about on the way, even if she lost. It happened fast enough that she's not sure and Aymeric would be the decider of that anyway.

She jumps off of Nimbus so she can walk alongside the both of them, knowing that the temple wasn't too far away anyway.

Prayer #37

So now they've sorted out the miscommunication. Kairi does genuinely feel good about that. She doesn't like seeing friends fighting, but especially when it's over something as ridiculous as a misunderstanding that could've been resolved had people just talked to each other... that's the kind of thing she wishes didn't have to get outside intervention nearly as often as she knows it does.

Kairi looks over at Aymeric as they stand in the middle of the city on Heligoland island, still amazed that no one thinks any different of him thanks to the power of the Far Shore obfuscation. "You think there's more than one person who's having a miscommunication with a friend, then?" He'd know what's going on with his followers better than Kairi or Goten would, certainly.

"It would not surprise me after today." the elezen speaks, folding his arms. "However, it would be unwise to not investigate further. We did find one ayakashi, what is stopping another to form or even have been around already?" While it's not like the discourse with the teenagers, Aymeric can feel like there's something off but he doesn't need godly powers to sense it; while it's only been days, Aymeric does like to come here and people watch, to get a better feel of the populace. And they've been mostly friendly to each other...

"I rather not risk it. We should ensure that it is safe before we go back to the Far Shore."

Goten is busying himself with a stay empty soda can. He's been kicking it along with them ever since the miscommunication was settled. Which might be a good thing considering all the lizards he could probably find on the island instead. At least this way he's staying around his god and Kairi.

"But where do we start? The island is pretty big for being so small." Goten is all for helping people, granting more wishes or prayers, and tracking down strong ayakashi but without a place to start they could just be going in circles. There's something off. Goten can exactly place why he feels that way. Heligoland feels like Heligoland but heavier-oh!

He kicks the soda can a little to hard and it zips past the side of Aymeric's face, barely missing the god and into the air. Whoops.

Instinctively, Kairi throws a Borderline out where the soda can is heading, aiming it away from hitting either of them on the way back down. Then she laughs a little. "Maybe afterwards we can make a game out of that - Borderline Volleyball." She's come up with a dozen games around Goten, at least. "When we're back at your temple, for a little bit of training?" If nothing else it gave Goten something to look forward to.

"Is there a town square where everyone gathers? Like a, uh..." She struggles for the word. "Like a bar or a pub or restaurant where all the adults go, you know? And they might talk about what's going on - if all of their kids are fighting or something."

But she looks to Aymeric anyway - maybe he has a better idea?

Prayer #38

Kairi stands on the beach, looking out from the white cliffs of Heligoland. She remember the fisherman whose prayer brought herself and Goten to Heligoland the first time, and he was the same one whose grand-daughter brought them to Heligoland today.

Frisch Singer.

If he's in trouble, she isn't about to leave yet any more than Aymeric and Goten are. "That's a pretty nasty storm he's stuck in, sure enough -- it wasn't even that overcast when we started today, was it?"

Aymeric knew that weather could be unpredictable but today with all three of them there, there's something that just feels wrong.

"Nay, it was bright and sunny when we arrived." he confirms, staring at the clouds forming further away. "I would suggest this to be only a typical change but nothing about this day has been 'typical'." Why does he get the feeling that they may need to 'borrow' a boat soon?

"Whoa....i didn't know it could go from sunny to stormy that fast! Can weather change like that?" Goten floats a little off the cliff side as if that will give him a better look. The sky is looking pretty angry. He crosses his arms, frowning thoughtfully. No way they can leave if that old guy is caught in a storm.

"We're gonna go check it out, right?" He glances back over to Kairi and Aymeric curiously. A boat isn't the first thing that comes to Goten's mind but it's not a bad idea.

Mission #5: Goten

[Kairi's been thinking that when she asked Goten to train a little bit after their second big adventure in Heligoland at Forseti's Temple - mansion - that she'd be the one teaching him more about the spells she'd tried to teach him before.

Then she hears a word she doesn't recognize.]

Umbra? What's that, Goten?

[sonofson]

[Goten is seated on the ground, reaching for his toes as he stretches.]

It's like that Bind spell you showed me awhile back! Yukine taught me Umbra and how to do a cutting borderline. You're both super good teachers.

[He smiles to himself, just thinking about it. He enjoys sparring a lot but the shinki training is more of a treat. If he can get better at shinki stuff then he'll be a better shinki.]

Really? It's another spell...?

[She hadn't heard of it before. She's glad he thinks she's a good teacher though.]

By 'cutting borderline' you mean the dagger style, right?

[She does it out in front of her, but there's nothing for her to need to avoid.]

What's Umbra do?

Misson 2 [ July 14th ]

[Artemis' temple isn't hard to find once you know where it is. He's happened by a few times before already.

This time it's to meet up with Kairi after a few text message exchanges. His spelling hasn't improved much but at least with Kairi he doesn't need to worry at all about it.

Landing in front of the temple, Goten glances around before taking out his cell phone. A quick 'kairi imhere' and then he waits.

At least until a biggest beetle he's ever seen catches his attention and he has to running to the side of the temple after it. ]

[Kairi's actually pretty stern-faced when she walks out the door, until she sees Goten running around and then she lightens up considerably. This is important, but Goten's antics can't help but make her smile.]

Hey Goten - thanks for coming by so fast.

[She pulls out Suijin's letter from her pocket and starts to open it up.]

Do you know who Suijin is by chance?

[sonofson]

[It's just as she says his name that he leaps for the bug and front flips so to land on his feet. Perking, he runs over to her, bettle cupped gently between his closed hands. As cool as bugs are, he's always excited to see Kairi]

Kairi!

[He stops next to her, grinning from ear to ear]

Suijin...? Um, is she that little girl thats in charge over heaven? Super important right?
