a. Autumn stage

[ And what a day to make a debut. Tanabata is certainly a large enough event to get herself out there after all. She wasn't expecting herself to make her first appearance on stage so soon but here it is.

No matter the state of the sky outside, a harvest moon rises above the ceiling of the autumn stage. It hangs in the black 'sky', brilliant and golden even if everything remains in absolute darkness. It's only when Hime appears wearing a yukata done in a deep purple accentuated by a dusting of gold leaves and black lace at the hem that a burst of color cuts through the darkness, injected with the sudden scent of mikan oranges. An explosion of reds and yellows appears, intensifying with each step she takes. It makes the trees and ground burst in yellow and orange leaves, those same leaves billowing around her feet as she walks.

Then the music starts. It's a slow melody, simple but certainly something that can allow her voice to carry over the music and through the audience. It's a lonely song, but one she doesn't allow herself to falter on. It's a song whose sensation many would be familiar with: parting ways with someone important. Certainly fitting, if she was asked, with the theme of Orihime and Hikoboshi's story. So... she must give a perfect performance. It's her debut after all.

And a certain someone might be watching.

By the end of the song, the bright harvest moon above has gone through its cycles and finishes as a crescent moon. Its light has been overwhelmed by the pale illumination coming from the reds and yellows of the leaves that swirl around her. And its those very same leaves flurrying around her that allow her to exit the stage.

After her performance, she can be found outside and trying to catch her breath. She lets out a deep sigh, eyes closing as she raises a bottle of water to her lips. ]

....that was.... something else...

Wishes

[ She's... frustrated. This is the problem when you have a personal desperate wish you want to leave but happen to be around 5"3. There's also only so far you can reach when you're wearing a yukata. Unfortunately, it isn't far enough.

If you should catch sight of her, she's trying to hang her slip of paper on a high branch with much difficulty. Someone help a girl out and preserve a lady's dignity? ]

c. Bridge (closed to Rei)
[ She said she'd meet him as soon as he was free. That would give him plenty of time to take care of his business and give her plenty of time in turn to rest and get properly changed. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't counting on having business of her own to take care of in the form of meeting her own god and getting things squared away with him.

So she's late.

But she's quick to push through the crowd. Thankfully, Rei Ryugazaki is an easy boy to find. ]

Rei-kun!

[ And she's giving him a quick bow when she reaches him. ]

I'm sorry. Did I keep you waiting?

[ Scent is beyond the purview of Hibiki's powers but not her capabilities. Some special effects can be unleashed the old-fashioned way: by throwing lots of money at the problem.

She smiles as the mikan-scented perfume is released on schedule during the performance. That was a particularly nice touch.

Afterwards, she goes in search of the debutante and finds her recovering. Hibiki has a bottle of sparkling water and a glass on a silver tray. She pours the water and offers Hime the glass. ] A crystal clarity like a cooling river. Fitting to whet the throat that granted us all a pool of autumnal melancholy.

[ Okay, enough metaphors. For this moment. ]

Well done.

[ She thought the mikan perfume would be a good idea. If they were aiming to make an impression, surely hitting as many senses as possible would make the largest mark.

But she does nod back at Hibiki, both in greeting and thanks for the glass. ]

Thank you. Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

[ And there's the barest chip to her armor as she takes a sip of water: the tiniest look of worry in her eyes which disappears the minute she finishes that drink. ]

That wasn't too bad for a first performance, was it?

You captured the audiences' hearts magnificently.

[ Hibiki saw that. She shifts her body, keeping the water available should her Princess require it, but stands side by side with Hime. This is less confrontational, and presents them more as a united front.

That was such an enjoyable performance. It was unlike the material typically performed in PriPara! What other new stages might draw back their curtains here...? Hibiki intends to find out. The revolution never sleeps. ]

Did you have fun?

[ Yes, she knows words that are one syllable long. She uses them when she can tell coming on too strong is a bad idea. ]

Do you think so?

[ Relief. It was her first time on stage, after all and naturally, there would be worry. Surely the others were more accustomed to it. The other performances looked magnificent after all.

Her worry does turn into a thoughtful smile, nodding as she took another drink. ]

Oddly.. yes. I did. Though I'd be perfectly honest if I said I didn't think I'd feel so comfortable performing in front of a crowd but... I believe this is something I'd like to keep doing.

We're happy to have you.

[ That may or may not be a royal "we". Interesting that she minded it less than she thought, too. Is she another case like Natsuru, where her body remembers performing even if her mind doesn't...?

There's no hurry to decipher such mysteries. They'll reveal themselves to Hibiki, as does everything.

She looks out across the way, not really focusing on anything. ]

It's a rarified space, the stage. Not everyone can bring out its full potential. It seems my eyes are as reliable as I knew them to be.

Thank you. I'll be sure to keep the agency's reputation in mind during any future performances.

[ While it's less being a natural performer and rather being more of a natural public figure, she doesn't seem all that nervous in front of a crowd.

But she does chuckle softly. ]

I suppose if there's anyone to thank for being able to see potential where it lies, it certainly is you. Does that mean you've already got plans for our next performance?

[ Hibiki turns her head to make eye contact again. She has...plans, yes...but let's see how this goes first. Whether it yields her anything on her path towards her goal.

In the meantime, she's gonna deny nothing. Still in stage mode, here. ]

Are you that eager?

[ A shake of her head but the smallest smile even as she sets the glass down, arms folded behind he back as she stares up. ]

I wouldn't say eager... [ Protip: she enjoyed it. ] I just want to make sure I'm available then.

[ Hibiki grins. That's a sensible enough question that it deserves an actual answer. Ah, working with people who aren't idiots is so refreshing! ]

We'll regroup for a while. There are still new levels of splendor to which I need to expose you.

Make time next week. [ Not "are you free". "Make time".

Hibiki has everyone's best interests at heart, but it's very much her conception of what said best interests are... ]

[ Well, she did say she wanted to make sure she was available so making time seems to be a fitting thing to say. She will nod once at that. New levels of splendor? Bring it on. ]

I'll be sure to let my new god know about the schedule.

[ A beat. ]

That's right... once I've met them, I'll be sure to let you know where I'll be staying. It's likely I'll be moving out of Guan Yin's by tomorrow.

Then this is doubly a night for celebration.

[ Assuming you have a good new god. But still, she supposes being attached to a god is better than the alternative, for shinki. Even ones who seem on the verge of genius likely feel more secure with someone as amazing as a god to serve.

...For a certain breed of god. This new one better be worthy of the ethereal Princess with jet-black wings. ] I look forward to hearing your new address.

[ So she can send HOUSEWARMING PRESENTS. And be JUDGMENTAL WHEN SHE DELIVERS THEM.

[Thank goodness that Hime was late, because to be perfectly honest between each other- so was Rei. Preferring to keep Kuroyukihime's Rose bouquet and the small purple and gold butterfly origami fresh and crinkle free, he had chosen to picking them both up until just after her song.

Returning Hime's bow with one of his own, Rei hoped that his most certainly red cheeks and ears were prevented from sight. Nervously handing over both of his gifts to her, Rei continued his attempts of hiding his blush by adjusting his glasses.]

Oh... No, no- You weren't late... Besides! As lovely as your performance was it is perfectly logical to assume that you were busy with new fans and admires!

So you were watching...

[ Her tone is unreadable, either teasing, curious and conscious. Maybe a little bit of everything. But there's a definite flush to her cheeks as she accepts those presents.

Hmm... this butterfly. She'll have to make a mascot out of it somehow. Maybe work it into future perfor--

aw lookit her. Thinking like a showman already. But she's going to hold the flowers a little closer to her chest before stepping in closer. ]

You flatter me. I wouldn't have so many fans so quickly... Though I was only delayed because I'd met my new god. Naturally, that means I'll be moving out.

[If possible Rei's ears grew even more red as he quickly forced his eyes to look to the side. Great... Just great.... Hime having to leave just when he had grown used to the idea that at any given moment he could wake up to being an over night sensation in the worst of ways.]

Ah... Well... I wouldn't be staying with Watanuki-sama either. I got reassigned to Knox-san as well. Though I am sure that you are going to be welcomed at his place just as much if not more. I had the joy of spending some time with him previously and I think the two of you have rather personable traits.

Though... I don't think he is the sort to make recordings of me asleep or to trash talk me when I struggle to understand certain game theories.

I've spoken with him a few times when he visits... so I think he wouldn't mind my coming over on occasion.

[ There's a chuckle though as she slips her free arm into his, balancing the flowers with the other. It was nice, she has to admit. He's become such a constant in her life ever since the first time they shared a room at Nagisa's...

Hopefully this new god is for keeps but it would be nice. Maybe every now and then... and there's a playful little slap of his arm as she looks up at him. ]

Really? Are you still sore about that?

[Moving onto topics that made him far less uncomfortable- even though they still rank pretty high on his "Unbeautiful" list- Rei couldn't help but release an indigent huff of air.]

Of course I am still sore about it! Any person who has an ounce of self respect would be mortified by a video like that. Only when you are asleep are you completely defenseless and you broadcasting me in such a state to the whole world was just embarrassing! I would never do such a thing to you!

[And there he goes- All round up nice and tight Hime.]

[ She's listening, even if it seems to go in one ear and out the other. Oh, Rei... never change. But she does offer him the smallest smile, looking up at him and lightly patting his arm. ]

I couldn't help it! It was just... surprising to think that someone like the great Ryugazaki Rei had a quirk like talking in his sleep.

[ And glancing ahead though. ]

Can I make it up to you by escorting you this evening?

[Letting out a single huff of annoyance, Rei gave Hime a baleful glare before it crumpled into a laugh and him ruffling the back of his hair.]

Very well, that is the least that you can do at least. It doesn't completely cover your debt but it would put you in a much better standing then you previously were.

And I suppose that's the least I could do.

[ With that, she's looped her arm around his. ]

Shall we? I can only imagine you already have a schedule worked out for the evening.

[The very tips of Rei's ears were burning as he forced his eyes to look to the side, trying his hardest to regather his wits and resume that supposedly cool demeanor that he thought she had of him.]

Of course I do~ But first I thought that it would be a pleasant idea to take a walk along the bridge. I have seen quite a few people walk down it and I couldn't help but think that would be something pleasant that you would enjoy.
