Chikusa
Tch, there's no need to be such a—
[He cuts himself off with a yelp when a borderline suddenly springs up inches away from him. He stumbles back in surprise, tilting the edge of the plate just enough to send its contents airborne...
The dynamos abruptly drop, instantly responding to Add's desire to save his desserts. But even with the inhuman speed and accuracy of his machines to help him, trying to catch the fallen jellies without dropping more is a difficult task, let alone saving every last one of them. Some of them are certainly doomed to fall into the cold and unforgiving embrace of the ground, never to be eaten again (or worse, caught by Chikusa).
He grips the edge of the now-emptied plate tightly, sparks starting to fly off his machines.]
What the hell is your problem?!
no subject
[Even worse: he makes direct eye contact before taking one of those caught and biting into it.]
[...And then he promptly bolts. BYE, ADD]
no subject
HELL
No]
Get back here, you thieving trash!!
[Add doesn't chase after Chikusa, of course, because Chikusa should already know that Add doesn't have to (but he does have to take a moment to remove the plates of food from his dynamos, the last thing he needs is to knock the rest of his dessert onto the ground while trying to avenge the ones lost). Just when it seems like he's going to escape, a large portal cracks open directly under the fleeing shinki, leading into a dark and swirling abyss.
... and somewhere at the "bottom" of it is another opening to solid ground, presumably next to Add. There's no escape.]
no subject
[The sudden appearance of a void beneath his feet has Chikusa trying to jerk to a stop, but he's not fast enough. When he falls through the 'bottom', it's with his arm wrapped around his bag and making sure he doesn't lose his totally-legitimately-gotten goods, and the other hand has one of his yoyos.]
[A blink.]
I don't think you can really talk...
no subject
Oh, we'll see who can talk. Now hand them over before I make you!
[He extends an open hand with a stern glare, offering Chikusa one last chance to give up peacefully.]
no subject
[The hypocrisy of him saying this is not lost on him, but also Chikusa doesn’t care. He just adjusts himself until he can put the food on his lap and starts to go through his bag without any particular concern.]

Ram
[He raises a hand, showing just the index and middle fingers together, then points them at the ground before swiping across the air. Nothing actually happens, of course, but he's familiar with the action since he was a shinki himself for a time...]
It's like that, but you also need to have a target in mind. The idea is to draw a line separating yourself from another entity. It's much easier to grasp once you've tried it. Borderlines can stop an ayakashi in a pinch, but only shinki are capable of drawing them, so you should make an effort to master the technique if you want to be useful.
Wind manipulation is probably something you could always do... it's not related to the abilities of a shinki, anyway. Consider it a bonus.
Your god can probably tell you the rest of what you need to know, but there are resources available on the BBS as well if you find their knowledge lacking. [and he's normally not one to give this much of a tutorial anyway, but it's hard not to want to show off his knowledge a little when she's listening so intently.]
no subject
Why not just kill it outright? If they are are dangerous as a Demon Beast, they should simply be put down.
[ Actually, she's not sure why she knows that, but she does. Of course, this part she has ZERO idea about: ]
Bee-Bee-Ess?
no subject
[At least he can kind of relate since the Internet doesn't actually exist in his world, either. But he does know quite a lot about computers...]
A BBS is like a bulletin board... they gave you a phone when you arrived here, correct? It comes preinstalled on all of the devices, so you should already have an account and everything.
no subject
You mean this metia? I have no idea how it is activated.
[ She slips out the phone from inside her sleeve, holding it flat on her hand like someone might who's never seen a phone or basically any modern technology before. ]
It doesn't seem very sturdy either.
no subject
It's poor quality, but I wouldn't expect anything else from the Heavens. It's useless if it breaks so treat it carefully... Ah, you press this button here to turn it on. Once the screen is lit up, you can touch the symbols to activate them... [he turns the screen around so she can see it better] These two are for direct communications through text or voice, the latter also supports a video function that allows you to see the other person. This one lets you access the BBS. [and after tapping the browser for her, he sticks it back in her hand.]
There are other useful sites it can access as well—for example, if you put in G-O-O-G-L-E-dot-C-O-M at the top part here, you can enter questions and keywords into it and it'll search the entire online database for related information.
sorry for the delay, was on hiatus! no pressure if it's too late to continue!
Corrin
His coffee isn't too bad, either. [Though he's slowly becoming acclimated to the tea. He's never thought of himself as much of a tea person, but it's nice to have some variety every now and then.]
... It's Add, by the way. I know you're someone that Jakob has fought alongside in the past, so as long as you don't do anything to harm him I'll consider you my ally as well.
no subject
Oh! My name is Corrin, it's nice to meet you!
[Corrin has a nostalgic smile on her face while she thinks about her time with Jakob.] He was a very trusted ally of mine. Someone I know I could count on and someone I still want to protect. I will make sure that I don't do anything to hurt him. I'm happy to know that Jakob has someone like you on his side.
[She doesn't know their relationship yet, but anyone who is willing to protect Jakob is good in her book.]
no subject
He chuckles, equal parts wry and nervous. But, well, he did offer to let Jakob leave for another god and he chose not to, so Add must be doing something right as a god... but maybe he'll just not mention any of that to Corrin.]
I try to keep him out of trouble. [more like the other way around, but whatever, close enough] Anyway, you must've just arrived to this world recently. If you have any questions that still need answering, I have more experience than most of the other new gods or shinki around here.
[He has been both, after all.]
Ekko
[They could both make that happen, really...
though things might get awkward fast if they moved this discussion to a timeless void, yikes. The sparking doesn't quite stop, but he does become a little more focused at the suggestion of asking a few questions. He doesn't need the bridge's influence to want to know more, but it certainly helps him to fixate his attention solely on Ekko. He turns half-way to finally look at the boy beside him.
What does he want to know? Add grins, his heart fluttering at all the possibilities.]
Why did you become an engineer? Is advanced technology common where you're from? Or AI, is that commonly accepted or looked down upon? And why you decided to study time travel, if it's not too sudden to ask. [im sorry did you say "a few" questions because Add is just going to rapid fire everything that comes to his mind]
no subject
Please no.He laughs as he's suddenly faced with a barrage of questions, but it's endearing more than anything else.]
I was good at it. Yeah, hextech is all over the place in Zaun and Piltover. The only AI I know of is Orianna, and she's fascinating, but kind of creepy. Probably because she sounds so robotic. Somebody threw out a magic crystal that was in pieces. When I picked it up and started working with it, I could go back in time.
So you could say I got lucky.
Lenneth
[It's always nice when neither side has their mind in the gutter... Add is much more concerned with discerning what sort of material it might be made of. Some kind of specialized metal, perhaps similar to Chung's armor...?]
So more of an innate ability that's been adapted to your taste in clothing, perhaps...? If it can adapt to fit over the clothing of its wearer, it should work over any type of clothing. But if it's a specific size and fit that might not be the case... if there was a change in your height or weight, for example, would you encounter issues?
no subject
My height and weight do not change, so the question is impossible to answer.
[The gods are static, save for Odin who has something of mortality within him, and thus has the power to grow past his established bounds.]
You will not, however, that it does not fit 'over' my clothing. [The skirt is evidence enough of that -- the lightweight, slitted cloth is suited for battle, and would clearly reveal the thicker, unslitted dress she wore if it were still present.]
no subject
But the second statement grabs his attention again. He glances down, noticing that the skirt is, in fact, completely different.] Ah, so it transforms it completely...? Are both outfits summoned through supernatural means?
[... and he also crouches down to pull on her skirt a little, of course. Just to check the quality and sturdiness of the fabric, not unlike the other parts of her armour.]
no subject
Understand that gods are not beings of flesh and spirit divided, but as one. In Asgard, there is little difference between your soul and your body. In Midgard, gods do not exist in the mortal real, but the spirit one, and so must materialize their beings when they wish to be present there.
Celty
[He stares at her expectantly for a little longer, but... okay, so maybe she's not very talkative. He sighs, leaning an elbow on the railing.]
I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new here, or do you just hate crowds?
Re: Celty
I'm new. And I've been walking around. This place just made me feel sad.
I thought I'd stay here for a bit, but it doesn't seem like I'm going to know why I feel this way.
[Know. Perhaps remember. She's been given the warnings. It doesn't stop her from feeling sad. Stop her nonexistent heart from aching.]
no subject
This bridge has an odd effect on people, but "sad" isn't the word I would've used for it. [maybe it's because she was by herself? hmm...]
You might feel differently if there's someone else with you.
no subject
I see. Maybe.
Though if this place is meant to be for couples maybe it's better to go somewhere else.
I don't want to cause trouble for anyone.
[This talk about 'odd effects' seems a bit spooky.]
