[July 8th-10th; Basic Botany and Prickly Friends]
[Having told Sora he'd do it, Nari is out and about the temple grounds just cataloging and drawing all of the plants in a notebook he ~~stole~~bought from a shop. Anything that is poisonous to cats has been marked with a white ribbon on it, which a cat that's been following him around plays with. His little 'helper' will most likely notice any visitor first and come up to see who they are. Let May say hello!

When not drawing plants, he's... digging. A lot. A small plot on the side closer to what he's been told was the shortcut to Artemis' Temple. There's a few pallets around his feet of what look like various succulents and cacti. Why? Well, why not?]

[July 8th-10th?; Owain; Any time]
[Having talked to a few people over the past few days, he knows that eventually some guy named Owain will show up. Hopefully. The directions were pretty clear cut on how to get to Baldr's temple. Showing someone how to use a phone seems like a good enough way to spend the day. Now to just wait. And wait.]

[July 11th; Luna; Any time]
[Raphael, if that was her real name, seemed nice enough that Nari actually felt compelled to help her. The plant she was holding wasn't one he's ever seen before, so he's excited. And if the plant could indeed be grown with his abilities? Score! Free berries that can be planted at his own god's temple as well. Now... Is a cathedral this building he's looking at?]

[July 12th; Baldr's Temple]
[After a nice day out and about, it was time to go back to digging. Furrows have been added close to where the cacti and succulents were for... who knows what. Nari is mostly waiting to see if the cat(s) he wants to get from Souji are available yet since it'd be nice to have his own pet. May is loved and all, but she was Sora's, and the other animals at the temple (Wanwan) just weren't his thing.

Later, in the early evening, There's a pit dug into the beach with leaves over it. Seems there's something cooking under those leaves if you're curious to see just what kind of culinary delight this shinki has come up with. Any of Sora's visitors are welcome to try and snag some of the food.]

Apocalypse is out running some errands for Add—picking up materials for mechanical work, maybe some groceries, etc. Nothing is listed as a high priority at the moment, so doing a sweep of some of the surrounding areas of the Far Shore is calculated to be a productive use of time along the way. As it passes near Baldr's temple, the familiar energy signature assigned to May(hem) is picked up. It's been months since Apocalypse was last able to properly check up on the feline...

So, Nari will probably be surprised by the glowing purple cube that hovers over from beyond the treeline, stopping a few inches above the ground next to May. At least the cat doesn't seem to be bothered?

Since coming here, Nari has not heard May sound so loud and happy unless those two love-struck gods were in residence. He searches for a moment before his eyes fall on the cat in question and a......... cube? May was pawing gently at whatever that thing was, and curiosity wins out with that lack of fear this kitty was displaying.

He keeps his notebook on him and carefully approaches the two. "May? Whatcha got there? A friend?" Nari, cats can't talk! Stopping short, he sits a foot or so away from them, trying to gauge the situation. "Hello, cube thing. Planning on killing us all?"

The cube's surface flickers as it brings itself down a little lower to May's reach. After a pause, a strong white glow starts to build at its core along with a faint high-pitched sound, almost like something being charged up to fire. It builds for only a couple seconds before suddenly compressing into a tiny pinpoint, firing a thin beam of light down at the ground—

Which May pounces at, because it's basically a laser pointer. Truly, Apocalypse is the pinnacle of advanced Nasod technology.

Multitasking with ease, it continues to play with the cat according to its feline distraction subroutine while also flashing Nari with a quick scan. Having identified the shinki as non-threatening, its ears and cat face flicker on along with a small purple holoscreen that Nari is free to touch and move around.

That sound is worrying, till.... okay. That's cool and cute. May must know this thing to want to play with it. Good, that means she'll get tired out and maybe stop following Nari around trying to get his attention every five seconds. This is what happens when there's kittens involved around an older cat. Jealous cat wants all the attention.

He blinks a few times, and then moves closer to kneel down and gently poke the cube. "Hey there. I'm Nari. You're... pretty unique. Cute cat face, by the way, totally loving it." Is he going to pet the cat cube? Yes. He's going to now pet this new cat friend.

The cube doesn't seem to mind being poked, and it vibrates against his hand a little when he goes to pet it. It kind of feels like touching an old TV screen, so his hair might start to stick up if he's at it for too long.

It flickers brightly for a second when Nari introduces himself. The text screen updates a moment later.

It wants Nari to scratch behind its ears, obviously. It helpfully lights up that particular 'tile' as well.

That is a much different feeling than when he accidentally electrocuted himself that one time... "Apocalypse... mind if I call you Caly? It's cute and short"

It's good that Apocalypse lit up a tile, because Nari was about to be so confused as to what he was supposed to be doing. With a soft snort, he moves his hand enough to start scratching the cat cube behind its ear. "Just like a real cat."

It pauses at the suggestion, its floating ear twitching a little at the pleasant scratching. According to previous experience and simulations, Master Add would likely disapprove of any "cute and short" nicknames... however, Nari is asking if Apocalypse would mind, which it's not really programmed for outside of important matters.

It continues to "purr" and lean into him, though after awhile it sounds more like a tiny harddrive whirring than an actual cat... but it sure makes up for that with enthusiasm.

"Caly it is." Which just makes Nari smile. Getting approval from cute, talking cat cube is enough to brighten his day.

Even if the 'purring' noise sounded somewhat like an overheating laptop... But now his curiosity is piqued as he keeps scratching, switching to the other ear. "So, Caly, you know May or something? She looks happy that you're here. Or are you just a cat magnet?"

The cube lights up for a second, quickly leaning to the other side when Nari swaps ears. This human is very skilled in the art of ear scritches...

MAYHEM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY PLACED WITH SORA UNTIL LUDGER IS LOCATED.

"Temporarily", because according to Add they'll certainly find Ludger again, and Apocalypse would never doubt the certainty of its master. If Add says it's true there's no way he could possibly be wrong!

After a slight pause, it completes its analysis with another line.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GENERATE A "CAT MAGNET" UNLESS THE TARGET FELINE CONTAINS SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF METAL IN ITS BODY.

Cats are the only creatures Nari knows how to keep happy. Scritches and petting are simple but effective.

Reading the reply has him feeling confused. Wasn't Roxas the name of Sora's boyfriend? But... he was still here. And Nari has never heard a Ludger, but the name Add rings a few little bells. Not that his mind cares to follow those bells at the moment. "So this Ludger guy is May's actual human. Huh. That sucks. At least Sora's a good enough dude with the whole taking care of her thing."

He snorts loudly, shaking his head. "It's not a literal thing. It's more like... cats just 'know' that you like and love them, and they flock to you for attention. Just like how metal flocks to a magnet if it's the right kind of metal with the correct magnetic pole. Get it?"

Oh my fucking god Apocalypse is so cute and Nari doesn't know if he can handle it in the long run. He nods and pats Apo's head. "Good job. You're def an AI if you're learning." Yes, he knows what an AI is. Spending time on the internet teaches someone all sorts of useful, but mostly useless, skills and information.
