You're like 90% of my self-control
Who: Hibari and You
When: July 13th, after Hakkai's disappearence
Where: The Far Shore
What: An almost mingle-post for anyone involved in Hibari's quest for destruction.
Warnings: Violence and Hibari. Fires.
It was only a few hours after Hakkai had disappeared, and the rage hadn't abated. The heavens were always having the last laugh, after all. Hibari at this point did not care about the consequences to himself any longer; the only thing came to his mind was vengeance and destruction. And he was very good at both.
For the proceeding hours until he ended up at Izumo's bar, a shadowy figure would be seen running around the Far Shore, setting large fires in his wake to burn any vegetation that happened to get in the way. If the smoke and flames didn't catch anyone's notice, then perhaps the sudden destruction of some temples would.
OOC: This is the place to go if you want to thread with Hibari during his violent quest, or just thread out the effects of his rampage in general. Anyone is allowed to tag in and around to offer their assistance.
~A~ Temple Run
Several temples volunteered in here are getting some new renovations to their place. They might need help cleaning up some of the rubble or healing, and maybe some of the owners aren't exactly happy their place is being destroyed.
~B~ Fire
There's fire all over the place; even if it isn't close to your temple, it wouldn't be too hard to see the smoke. Thankfully, it's only trailing in Hibari's path, but some effort needs to be put in to stop it from spreading and endangering more areas.
~C~ Direct Conflict
Some people have noticed Hibari before he got to his final destination; and the teenager isn't exactly happy about that. This option is reserved to those who have directly stated they want to fight or attempt to stop him physically.
ooc note: the final events of his rampage will be taking place at Izumo's bar, on his open thread.
~D~ Something Else?

B.
The boy subsumes the fire, before turning to address Shun, his eyes an ardent orange similar to the flames on his forehead.]
I'm not wasting time, I'm here to help. [He then gestures to the fire that used to be there.] Are there more fires like that one?
no subject
As soon as Tsuna asks that, Shun turns his head to their right and points in a very exacting motion through the trees.]
There's another one not far that way, I started dealing with this one first for obvious reasons. [This one had been getting very close to uncontrolled, whereas the other had a little more time before it got that urgent. Even as Shun says that, though, he starts moving through the branches of the trees himself, stepping and leaping between them with careful, skilled motions in the direction of the blaze he'd pointed out.]
You're actually the first person with powers like that I've seen helping out, and hell if there aren't enough of you to be doing it.
no subject
He looks back over to Shun as he mentions his powers. Tsuna visibly frowns at that.]
I feel responsible since I know who's the cause of all this.
[ Tsuna still couldn't get why Hibari's acting like this. He knows Hibari to be unpredictable already, but something like this is unlike him. Well...within a large range than usual.]
Plus that person uses flames similar to mine, and so it only makes sense that I take care of it.
[ Tsuna continues on towards the flame, racing towards it to make sure it doesn't get much bigger. He notices that Shun is able to teleport, so he's not worried about the other keeping up.]
no subject
As soon as he gets there himself, he picks up the thread of conversation as if they'd never left it.]
You know who it was? All I've heard so far is someone mentioning "him", which doesn't give me much to work with.
[Not that Shun's going to chase after the guy while there's still this to deal with, much as he'd like to, but it could be useful for future reference as well.
In any case, he nods towards the fire.] Will your powers work on that, or do you need it sized down?
no subject
[Tsuna is a bit hesitant to answer, since he doesn't know who Shun is or whether he'll go after Hibari himself. But if he's trying to extinguish the fires, Tsuna figures he's just trying to help out. Seeking retaliation probably isn't on Shun's mind at the moment. So he gives the stranger the benefit of the doubt.]
It's Hibari-san. I'm not sure if you know him, but he's gone out of control.
[Just like this fire which is acting a bit unusual from your usual blaze. Hibari uses special flames that have propagation property to them. Regular flames can grow pretty quickly, but this one was growing at an alarming rate too. He's definitely going to need help.]
It's growing too fast for me to absorb it. I'll contain it, but if you can make it more manageable.
[ Tsuna immediately gets to work, flying around the open flames at high speed, and trying to keep it centered. However, Shun should still be able to douse water from the top of the wildfire.]
no subject
I've never met him, but I've heard more than enough. I should've guessed it'd be an idiot like that who can't control himself at the best of times.
[The sheer distaste in those words might be noteworthy for someone who freely admits he's never met the target of it, but his opinion of Hibari has already been permanently coloured by all he'd ever heard of him up until now being everything he'd done to hurt Ren during their time as a god and shinki pair, and even in ending it.
He doesn't let his fit of pique get in the way of the situation at hand, though, and Shun gives a short nod at Tsuna's request, disappearing into thin air once more. Moments later, he re-emerges high enough to leap out over the fire and start the repeated dousing pattern he'd been performing earlier.]
no subject
Either way, Tsuna doesn't comment on Shun's obvious displeasure for Hibari. Instead he focuses on managing the flames. Keeping them contained by pushing back against the many tongues of fire with the wind he managed to circulate around it. Thankfully, the flames start to shrink with good amount of water that Shun constantly pours over it. After long Tsuna doesn't have to fly around the flames to keep them from spreading out.
Tsuna resumes his stance once he's sure he could absorb the flames. Positioning his gloved hands in front of him as he sucks the entire fire into his being. For a moment, the fire on his forehead seems to grow larger as a result.]
Hibari's not an idiot. I don't know your reasons for saying that, but he's a friend of mine. I'm going to find out why he's doing this, and stop him.
[Even if he's not sure if he could. Tsuna doesn't expect Shun to understand, especially since he has his own feelings about Hibari. The fire god is a little curious to know what Shun has heard about the prefect, but he decides not to ask.]
I'll leave once I'm sure all the fires are put out, and I'm sorry you have to clean up behind him.
no subject
Once Tsuna resumes his stance, Shun stops his weaving teleportation, throwing out one last load of water and then alighting on a lower branch. The repeated use of his powers is tiring, but as far as he's concerned, it's just another form of endurance training.
Tsuna's defense of Hibari gets a rather derogatory spitting sound from Shun, though he does at least try to be reasonable when he actually replies.]
I don't know your circumstances or how you became friends, so it's not something I can judge. But all I've ever heard about that guy is stories of how much he's hurt everyone around him, even people who were trying to help him and did everything they could to that end. This isn't improving my attitude.
[As if he even needs to, he makes a broad gesture over the other fires still burning deeper into the trees.]
Even if I was interested in apologies, it's his fault, not yours. Don't waste your breath.
no subject
Maybe it will not amount to anything...maybe it will. Though giving up, isn't an option for Tsuna. He's never been a person to give up on any of his friends, and he's not going to start now!
Still there's something in the way Shun speaks that reminds him of someone. He can't help but smile a little.]
You're really honest.
[ Though, Tsuna supposes this isn't the time to idly talk. There's more fires to deal with. He doesn't know if Shun will continue to help him, or not, but he'll be thankful for his assistance either way. Tsuna starts flying off to the next group of fires, and he could very well teleport as well. However, he can't absorb the flames without burning away at the energy he stores inside of him. He doesn't know if he has a limit to how much energy he can absorb and keep, but he doesn't want test the theory either.]
no subject
Nonetheless, the remark gets a faint snort out of him.] People usually whine about it being rude instead of honest.
[But that's all he really feels the need to say here, and he heads off after Tsuna towards the next fire, leaping through the branches of trees again. As tempting as it is to go and try challenging the source, this is all too familiar to him, and he won't leave the fires to spread. It's not like defeating the source of them would get rid of them, and they're a bigger risk than the person himself probably is right now.]
no subject
Tsuna makes his way to fires, and even at their distance he can see that some unattended fires are starting to spread. The last thing he wants is for a small group of fires to fuse into a much larger threat.
He tries to figure out how he might attempt it, when he notices Shun not to far away. He comes close to the other to reveal his train of thought.]
I won't be able to absorb those flames fast enough. It'll be quicker if we split up, tackling the fires from both sides.
no subject
Once Tsuna explains his reasoning, Shun gives a short nod, starting to leap back out in the direction he'd been heading anyway.]
I'll take this side, then. Focus on the ones that have spread furthest already.
[It probably goes without saying, but Shun doesn't know how the spread of a fire would affect how well Tsuna's powers work on it.]
no subject
[ Tsuna trusts Shun to do what he needs to, especially since he's taken this task on by himself. He starts dealing with the flames that do present more of a threat. The speed of how the fire spreads isn't what would hinder Tsuna, but size that they could potentially become will present an even bigger problem for the young mafioso.
While in mid-air he starts absorbing the more troublesome flames. Trying to do so as quickly as possible before it can grow any bigger. Hibari's propagation ability sure made this difficult.]
no subject
This time, he starts trying to work around the edges of the fires, stemming the spread before moving inwards and beginning to properly corral them.]
