The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[And he moves besides Izumo, sort of...trying to figure out how this is going to work cause...he's not use to being around Izumo's height. It's weird. But after some hesitation he does very carefully pick Izumo up, bridal style. ]

Okay...I think I got it!

[He grins at Izumo before lifting off the ground with the older shinki--To the shrine!]

[Gods, he hopes no one sees this.

At least Goten is careful.]

Goten, never tell anyone you've carried me like this.

Huh?

[He blinks, glaze shifting to him]

What's the big deal?

[Whatever the case, if Izumo doesn't want anyone to know...he'll fly a bit higher just to stay out of sight. Close to the clouds]

Nanako is the only one that could probably find us up here and I don't even think she goes this high-- Have you seen Nanako? She got older too!

[SMILE~! There may be a little bit of color to his face as he mentions that.]

[There are reasons, Goten.

Though, he easily notices the way he starts speaking about Nanako and it's--Oh.

Izumo smiles, amused.]

Yeah, I saw her earlier.

[He tries not to snicker at seeing the way Goten's face seems to color.]

What do you think of Nanako being older, Goten?

[songoten]

[That question just makes his face feel that much warmer, he can't look at Izumo either right now cause the sky in front of them is so much more interesting and oh, he should be keeping an eye out for Mikoto's place]

Think of her? What's there to think about? I mean, she's still the same Nanako. Really nice and considerate...would do anything for anyone probably. She's just older and...I donno... she's really pretty. Especially her smile...

[The last bit is mumbled, Goten resisting the urge to duck his head.]

He's so amused.

Seems like Goten's got a crush, though it's evident he hasn't realized it yet himself. Rather, it could be the teenage hormones kicking in, though Izumo would rather not have to go through that stage with Goten and Nanako. But it's rather fun listening to Goten talk about Nanako that he has to hold back a laugh.]

So you find her smile pretty, huh?

[songoten]

[Izumo, no, you're suppose to be his friend.

Why are you asking that. He just said he did. He grunts, looking away as his face gets hotter.]

W-Well it's...what I mean is... It's not me that finds her smil--I mean I do, of course I do, but..it's just her smile is pretty. It's a fact. It just is, okay?

[He's stumbling so badly over his words and his face is burning. And---they maybe flying past Mikoto's temple now with how distracted Goten is]

Okay, okay.

[Does he feel like a proud parent?

Almost.

But Izumo can't help but be terribly amused by seeing just how red Goten's face has gotten. Not enough to make him miss the fact that they're flying past Mikoto's temple, so he taps his shoulder.]

You flew by the temple.

[songoten]

[His face probably get any redder. Geez... Don't make him explain anymore..

The tap on the shoulder makes him blink and screech to a halt]

Huh? I did?

[He looks at him owlishly before turning around and spotting the roof of the temple a good ways behind them. He didn't see it at all.]

Whoops...

[And they're backtracking---but at least it's a quick flight despite it all. He's still careful when he sets Izumo on the ground infront of the temple.]

[Teenagers.

Izumo's a bit glad he doesn't remember his own teenaged years.

But there's a nod of thanks when Goten sets him down carefully. A quick glance around in case Mikoto's around, but knowing the redhead, he might be taking a nap somewhere or being dragged along into some odd game that Izumo's caught him playing before.]

[He still needs to go track Mikoto down sometime soon.

But right now with his face cooling down, there's more important things--like food! Food is awesome! Mainly Izumo's. He heads inside along side Izumo]

What should we make? I'm staving.

[Izumo looks thoughtful as he enters inside.

It's not surprising Goten's starving.]

Anything you want in particular or is anything fine?

[songoten]

Anything is good. Maybe something easy and quick to make? All your stuff is good, Izumo.

[He'll forever stand by that. Though he hasn't really been inside the temple before so naturally he's looking around as Izumo leads the way.]

Do you need any help with the bar? I can help with it or at least move heavy stuff for you.

[He misses it already and this isn't just about being older and wanting to stay after hours]

Maybe I should help you learn how to cook, too, one day. Or at least bake.

[One day.

Though, he glances back at Goten, expression softening.]

I suppose you can. Just don't try to start anything with Mikoto when he comes back. [Or if you do, take it away from the temple.]

Maybe a little...You already teach me practically everything else.

[He still has plans for that. Plans for making Izumo food sometime.]

I won't, promise!

[ Goten doesn't like messing up your stuff, fighting is fun but he's not to overly gung ho about it outside of some personal goals he had before this change up happened.]

[How did he get Goten into his life again?

But he nods and he leads the younger to the back. Fortunately, it's not as big as the kitchen in the school or even the bar, but it's homey enough for them to move around in.]

It's not flattery when it's true, Izumo! C'mon, don't be so modest and take credit where it's due. Everything has been a lot more fun since I met you and I've learned a lot to.

[ Honest kid is honest. He can't help but grin before his eyes scan around the kitchen curiously.]

Do you cook a lot here too?

If I weren't injured, I'd be willing to go up for another spar with you.

[A glance back at him before he nods.]

Sometimes. There's two other people living here, and everyone usually cooks for themselves, but I cook sometimes when I'm experimenting.

It's okay. You can make it up to me when you're better.

[At least unlike Shizuo, Izumo doesn't really hold back on him]

Besides after that turning blonde thing and being older now, I donno if that would be a good idea.

[He's not scared of Izumo not being able to handle it but not being able to control something in general is like waiting for something bad to happen. Really need to get a handle on that.]

It's Yata and that guy that jumped in front of a car, right? [Bandou. It's a guess since he's seen him at the bar too]

As long as nothing else strange happens, I should be recovered soon.

[Or he could cheat and actually find someone with healing powers.]

He laughs a bit.]

You really think so?

[He shakes his head.] It is Yata, but it's not Bandou. It's another guy with glasses, though.

[A nod.]

Yeah, I usually experiment with food to put on the menu. It gets boring if I serve the same food all the time.

[songoten]

Hope you're not gonna be rusty.

[Teasing. Goten has to tease him]

I never get bored of your food...but I guess that does make sense.

[Just means he can try new tasty things!]

What do you wanna make?

[Izumo hums, thinking.]

I was thinking of trying an Italian dish.

[He pauses, looking back at Goten.]

...Have I ever made you anything Italian before?

[songoten]

[Oh. Nice! Goten can not smile at that. But onto food--]

Italian? Uh...I don't think so. Yoon and me have just tried making basic things. The seafood thing was cause of that wish and I wanted to try something harder for you.

[Italian is new. The only food he can even think of Italian wise is spaghetti]

[With all the times Izumo's fed him, he's honestly a little surprised he hasn't let Goten taste Italian yet.

A glance.]

Something harder?

[But--]

Italian is mostly pasta or pizza, but let's make some risotto.

[songoten]

Yeah. I wanna give it my all.

[But the dish name makes him blink]

Risotto?

[At least he can say words better. Even if he doesn't know what they are.]
