The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[ Wherever you are, this kid wandered in like they owned the place.

Don't they own all places? ]

[ The fall child sorta looks like a certain Greek idol goddess. ]

They were a bad person that wanted to do bad things.

[ Can't just say they wanted to kill all the miracles in front of a child now. ]

That was dumb of them.

[ Sitting on the floor cross-legged now.

In a dress. ] They didn't get away with it, right?

[ That's how the stories always go. Stories wouldn't lie to Hibiki. ]

They didn't get away with it, and they paid the price for their actions.

[ Well not really... Carol just kinda fused with her since no more memories and it's weird ok. ]

[kurukuruchan]

Good.

[ Flop she goes onto her back. ]

The ending is the best part of stories. It's always happy.

[ She is not sure who all these people are who have to struggle for their happiness, though. Isn't life, like, super easy and fun all the time for everybody? ]

[alchemists]

It's not always happy, Carol might have been wrong but she did what she thought was Papa's wish.

[ Sure Carol killed a lot of people and almost killed Elfnein but there were reasons. ]

[ Think. Think think think. ] Don't get it.

[ So she rolls onto her stomach. Bored now. New topic. ] Do you wanna come to a party?

[ Do kids really lose interest this quickly? ]

What sort of party is it? If it's an important event I feel that I wouldn't belong there.

[ And what she came here for to begin with. Look, here is your invitation. She drew it herself. ] Everyone's invited, so that's you, too.

Thank you for the invitation.

[ The invitation is cute, maybe this tea party won't end in kids destroying things. ]

Are you gonna come?

[ You are, right? ]

[alchemists]

I don't think I could turn down this nice of an invitation.

[ What else was she going to say, can't break the poor child's heart now. ]

[kurukuruchan]

Hooray!

[ And she scrambles to her feet. ] It's this way.

[alchemists]

[ Well that was quick, normally there's a bit of a buffer between being invited and the event. ]

Don't run you'll end up tripping.

[kurukuruchan]

That's never happened before!!

[ She's so good at gym. At all subjects, actually. ]

[alchemists]

Really? Doesn't everyone have at least one fall in their life?

[kurukuruchan]

It's fine!

[ She puts her hands out while she's running. Whoooosh! She's a jet plane! Like Mother and Father use sometimes! ]

[alchemists]

[ Oh no that's adorable. ]

Who else is going to be at this tea party?

[kurukuruchan]

[ The jet plane turns around and flies backwards. It is a really, really talented jet plane. The star. The...what was the word?

Jeans n' us. ] Everybody. And they'll aaaaall be friends.

[alchemists]

Everyone will be friends, it sounds like a very lively party.

[ That word doesn't even make sense. ]

[kurukuruchan]

That's the best kind.

[ The jet is about to hit a bench. ]

[alchemists]

Watch out!

[ See this is why you watch where you're going. ]

Huh?

[ The jet makes impact, falls backwards... ]

[kurukuruchan]

[ -claps both hands onto the bench seat and uses the momentum to do a standing somersault flip up onto said bench, where she lands with a little burst of light and an actual trumpet fanfare. Out of nowhere.

She looks around, more confused by the trumpets than anything else. ] Did you hear that?

[alchemists]

[ What just happened, where did the trumpets come from ? Is there a geah user nearby playing the music ?? ]
