016 | The Good Old Days

Who: Everyone!
What: Ageswapping
When: July 15-17
Where: Everywhere
Summary: A breach in the space-time continuum is messing things up.

Edit: OVERFLOW is here!

The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...

Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

In Summary:
  • Meet the newbies
  • Get aged or de-aged
  • Deal with other too young/too old people
  • Try to handle the consequences
  • Have fun~

That's something I thought about when I became older again. I don't remember running into many adults. The ones I did run into were very helpful, maybe they could have helped defended us, if we needed it.

[It does worry Corrin a little that so many people were changed in such a span of time. However, talking about it does ease her worries. Nothing happened, now they can try to figure out where to go next.]

I'll admit being a child again wasn't that bad. Hmm, I wonder if the change happened to everyone. Maybe the native gods and shinki weren't able to avoid it, then again I wonder if anyone would recognize them. Oh, excuse me for not introducing myself. My name is Corrin, what's yours?

I saw some, at least, but it does definitely seem like the majority of people returned to being children. I'm sure they would have helped us, but our numbers overall would have been at a severe disadvantage.

[Compared to their usual, at least. Maria has no idea of whether the enemies of the Heavens are great or small in number, so it's not like she can compare there.

Maria smiles slightly at the admission.]
I'm sure it wasn't. And I know a few of the native gods and shinki make themselves known to us, so they would have been recognised - I just know Uta, my shinki who came from these Heavens instead of another world, wasn't affected.

[At the introduction, Maria nods politely.] Apologies for not introducing myself sooner. Maria Cadenzavna Eve, incarnation of Nuada Airgetlám.

It's something I thought about when I came back to normal. Maybe we should have something in place in case it happens again? Then again if there were some people who didn't age down they could help defend us if we need it.

[It doesn't take long for Corrin to fall into her strategic side. It helps her pushes back her worry about not being able to do anything. Corrin looked over in surprise.]

It affected the native people that live here too? This is much bigger than I thought. Well, I'm sure we'll figure out what to do next time something like this happens.

[Corrin smiles in return.] It's nice to meet you Maria.

It might be a little hard to set that up without a guarantee of who it would affect. [Maria taps her chin a little in thought, because it's a nice idea, but much harder to implement in practice.] We have no guarantee people unaffected this time would still be on a potential next time, either.

[It's a bit of a heavy thing to think about immediately after all that, though, and Maria tries to steer the topic to something a bit more optimistic.]

What about the other residents of your temple? They're all fine, are they? [Maria has no idea how many there might be in that group, but it's still worth asking, as far as she's concerned.]
twilightdragon: (i'm so happy)

[Maria had some good points for her to consider. She does have a habit of jumping in without thinking too much about her plans. She will keep the idea in the back of her mind though. Corrin welcomes the steer to a lighter topic. It helps her keeps her mind off of what happened.]

My Shinki, Tsubasa, didn't age down. She told me that she watched me when I was child, something that I appreciate very much. I got into a lot when I was smaller. [She gives a little laugh when she remembers what Tsubasa told her.] Other than that she's fine. [Something that eases Corrin.]
declamando: (but that's fine)

[personal profile] declamando 2017-05-25 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Unfortunately, the attempt to change the topic may not go down quite as well as planned, because as soon as Corrin says that name, Maria tenses visibly.]

...Would that be Kazanari Tsubasa? [When Maria smiles this time, it's ever so slightly forced.] If so, that does sound like her. She's always been very responsible.

[On one hand, Corrin seems to be a caring and pleasant god. On the other, this isn't quite how she was planning to meet Tsubasa's god.]
