What: Mikoto makes house visits, brawls with ayakashi and kidnaps a lion cub.

i. What are you waiting for?

[ For all you Gods and shinki's out there, guess who's at your temple door? It's a friendly caller! Honest! No one here looking for a murderer. Nope. That's not what he's doing at all. When the door opens, Mikoto will be standing at the door looking as bored as ever. ]

 

Are you going to let me in?

 

 

ii. Only Chains and Broken Bones

 

[ One moment you're minding your own business and the next there's an explosion of fire. Now you may be asking yourself - What the Hell was that?! - But don't worry, all will be revealed the moment a snake-like ayakashi comes crashing into the open followed by a man cloaked in red and white flames! The moment Mikoto hits the ground, he's racing past you, smashing his fists into the snake who meets him head on. The white flames keep healing the blight that comes from his direct attacks, one of which sends the ayakashi flying in your direction. Better to dodge that one. ]

 

iii. Ain't got no place to call a home

[ A King and a lion cub walk into a bar. Guess which one's wearing a collar? Think you got the answer yet? Was it: Neither? If so, congratulations! You are today's lucky winner!!!! So, what did you win?! Well, glad you asked! The answer: you're not getting mauled by either! Hooray, you! 

Mikoto walks into the bar and takes a seat, while the little lion cub follows behind him curling himself on the ground gnawing on a barstool leg as he orders himself a Wild Turkey and a steak - rare.  ]
 

 

iv. I saw my chance so I got him at last (Wildcard) 

 

[ Look the Devil in the Eye. ota. Make up your own scenario! I'm game for anything! ]

[ He was taking a nap, you ass. Which, being woken up, was the only reason for his foul mood right now. Shizuo might not know about how Mikoto crashed into Yona's temple, but it's enough to know that the guy was here now.

They're on top of a mountain. Why? ]

... Did Yona invite you here or something?

[ He's assuming that Izumo is fine. ]

[lionhearrt]

Yona?

[ He met the girl, but if names were exchanged he doesn't remember hers. ]

[bartenderizing]

Red hair, teenager? Sun and summer goddess, whose temple you're at right now...

[ Yet it's clear that he wasn't invited. ]

The hell're you doing here?

[ A slow blink and then recognition hits. Then a frown. Didn't she throw water on him? ]

She's too small.

[ Which means she probably didn't try and cut off some guys head. But then, what about you Shizou? Mikoto's going to look you over and his gaze is going to come to a dead stop at your feet. ]

What's your shoe size?

[bartenderizing]

[ She did and he's glad for that. You should be grateful that she did such a thing out of concern.

Of course, when you're the same height as someone, it becomes increasingly obvious when you're being looked over. It's... Really annoying. The hell is up with this guy? ]

... None of your damn business.

[ Either 27 or 27.5, depending on the shoe. Shizuo doesn't know what this is about, so he's not sharing. ]

[lionhearrt]

[ He barely listens to his answer as he gauges it for himself. Seems about the right size, but he can't be sure. Too bad Anna isn't here. ]

[ Gold eyes flick up back to him. ]

Did you kill Johan?

[bartenderizing]

Who? Ah-

[ Wait, no. He knew that name- it was just an automatic response for him to not know who someone was. That was Yona's friend. ]

No. Are you going from temple to temple accusing people of murder?

[lionhearrt]

[ No.

Another dead end. Mikoto looks down, totally ignoring the rest of words. Scratch another temple off his list. ]

[bartenderizing]

Oi.

[ This was pissing him off- once again, this guy just does things without answering people's questions. Even if they should be answered. ]

Are you ignoring me, or trying to pick a fight again? You don't just ask if people killed someone.

[lionhearrt]

[ Just going to ignore his outburst too. ]

You know who did it?

[bartenderizing]

If I knew who the serial killer was, then they'd be dead by now.

[ It's been affecting his attempts at a normal routine, and now it's affected Yona. He wants it done and over with. ]

Ah, and before you try causing further trouble, the others didn't do it either.

[ He's not the only tall shinki here, after all. ]

[lionhearrt]

What others?

[ He might have ruled you out, but that doesn't mean he'll take your word as gospel. ]

[bartenderizing]

Yona's other shinki, if you're deciding things off of height and shoe size. They arrived after all the murders started happening and getting found.

[lionhearrt]

[ He nods. ]

I see.

[ He could rule this temple off completely then. ]

[bartenderizing]

... Don't just go off to every temple asking these kinds of things.

[ You're going to create a mess- also, not so many people are as honest and forthcoming as Shizuo. ]

[lionhearrt]

[ Izumo vetted you already, so as far as he's concerned you're trustworthy. He wouldn't be so generous with a stranger's word.

As for what he tells him, Mikoto's just shrugs at his advice before turning to head off. He's got miles to go before he sleeps. ]

[bartenderizing]

Oi.

[ Turning to head back off meant going to the edge to where those steep stairs were. Without a proper response, it's not long before there's a large snap and cracking sound as a tree flies past and over the edge.

Shizuo's foot is hovering where it had first made contact with the tree- a bit of a callback to their last meeting. Though Shizuo was just reacting with what was at hand, or well, at foot. ]

The least you could do is acknowledge what I said properly. You're gonna upset a bunch of people if you keep pulling that kind of shit at everyone's place.

[ Mikoto blinks as a tree goes flying past him. The sight rare enough to have him turning back to the temple steps where a certain blond suddenly looks very famil--- ]

[ A slow blink as he puts two and two together. ]

That broken kid.

[ Oh crap. ]

That was you.

[ The one he tried to heal when he was a teenager. ]

[bartenderizing]

[ Except now this didn't cause the guy to be in any pain. In fact, it looked like the adult was able to do more with little to no effort. ]

Yeah, it was.

[ He's not impressed with the healing- if only for the fact that he had to stare up at the teenager's face during the time. It might've been cool, otherwise. ]

And I learned that you have a problem with kids telling you no.

[lionhearrt]

[ A slow grin is the only answer he'll get before the Red King turns back to the steps, dismissing him as he heads down. ]

[ ... Seriously?

If Shizuo was as calm as his lookalike, he'd be able to remember the warning of how Mikoto liked to egg people on and get into fights. How that is exactly what he usually wants to happen. ]

You don't just get to walk away after that.

[ It's pretty easy to guess and figure out what someone like Shizuo is about to do. When you just act, your actions are easily telegraphed and predicted. Like the fact that Shizuo closed the distance almost instantly to kick at the redhead's back. Mikoto's not a tree, Shizuo. ]

[ Red glows around him wrapping him in a shield of power as he raises a clenched hand to block the attack with ease. He always seemed to provoke those that were strong even when he wasn't looking for a fight. How many times had others come after him seeking to know who was stronger? He was second to none in how sought after he was by people who wanted to pick a fight with him. Most of the time Mikoto was happy to oblige and in the past was even thrilled by the opportunity to test his strength, but that thrill had slowly become a nuisance since becoming a King. He could no longer fight at full strength. Not without injuring someone. The strength he threw around as a teen was now used to bind him as a King. If he were to unleash his full power and fight properly he could potentially kill someone. So he suppressed it. Yet, the red aura would not be shackled so easily and that was the cinche in his armor. The weakness the other Kings did not endure. His own aura would burn him alive first before setting the world on fire. It was the most destructive force of all seven Kings and it constantly pressured him to let go and release the power he kept trapped within. It was torment, constantly smothering the flames but he endured it for the sake of those around him. He wished he didn't care, but he did and that was the most irritating thing about it all. The fact that he was a willing participant, allowing himself to be shackled like an animal by the people he surrounded himself with. And in the end, it always resulted in this. People being misled by his actions, seeing in him what they wanted to see. Placing false motivations onto him that Mikoto never corrected. Even now, he kept the smile in place as he blocked the attack, all the while forcing the red aura back into its cage, funneling it with precision instead of simply releasing the constant pressure voraciously seeking to escape in an explosion of power. ]

I don't have time for you.

[bartenderizing]

[ Shizuo wasn't looking for a fight, either. When angered enough, his body acted on its own, without much regard for what harm could be caused to others or himself.

In fact, he hated violence.

Yet the raw strength that went into that kick, even when it was caught, continued to push at a force that could easily roll over a truck. Other people were going to get seriously hurt, in some way, over being accused or reminded about all of these murders. ]

You're gonna agree to not go to every temple, forcing your search for the murderer, and causing a bunch of people to get more upset than they already are.
