[Closed] New Meetings
Who: Nanako and Shuusei, later Izanagi Household.
When: July 27
Where: Around the Heavens, Izanagi House
What: Nanako gets assigned a new shinki and sets off to find him and bring him home.
[ Once before, Nanako had seen the visions of the death of someone she didn't know, so at least this time she's aware of what it means, although it's not how anyone would want to be woken up in the early hours of the morning. She doesn't understand some of what she'd seen - the strange room, the even stranger-looking gun - but after she'd calmed down from the fear that had gripped her automatically at living through someone's memories that weren't her own, she'd snuck out of her brother's temple to go looking for her new shinki.
Focusing so she could call upon her new power, Nanako calls in her wings and lifts into the air, hoping she can follow the feel of him to discover where he might be as she zooms over the Heavens, looking for the face she had glimpsed in the memories. ]

What he doesn't expect is to see a girl with white feathered wings soar above him. He blinks. Then blinks again. Finally he sits up and draws his good knee up for balance as he watches her. Well, he's seen a lot of strange things here and though this is new it isn't the strangest.]
no subject
Which is how he ends up with a tiny six-year-old zooming downward with an alarming speed only to manage to slow at the last moment and hover in front of him, still in the air.
Despite the somewhat terrifying drop, she's smiling brightly, excited to have found him. ]
Hi! I was looking for you!
no subject
She's descending fast!
He's not mobile enough to just roll out of the way so he stares wide eyed as she sails down. Luckily, she pulls up short and hovers there a moment.
Also, what?]
Oh... uh, hi. What?
no subject
Oh, um. I think... I'm your new god? I'm Nanako.
no subject
[Well, this is definitely a huge change.]
Hi, it's nice to meet you. Umm... I'm Shuusei. Do you already know that?
[He's still not 100% on how this works.]
no subject
No, I didn't. Not yet. I just knew what you looked like. I'm happy to meet you, Shuusei.
[ Although considering he has a cast and crutches, her expression turns concerned a moment later as she motions at them. ]
Are you okay, though? What happened?
1/2
Oh, that. I just...
no subject
To most people he wouldn't even care about telling them a story, but she's an earnest looking kid and even he knows what guilt's supposed to do to you.
He sighs and lays back again.]
I saw a shinki rampaging and I went after him. He did a number on me then moved on.
[Luckily, the bruising has faded and the cracked ribs no longer cause him too many issues if he's careful.]
Looks like you have some bad luck. You got yourself a broken shinki.
no subject
I don't think I have bad luck at all. Maybe you just got really good luck all of a sudden instead? Hold still, I'm still learning how to do this...
[ She reaches out to hover her hands over the leg that's still wrapped in a cast, focusing for a moment. Her hands start to glow with the same soft, warm light that had appeared when she'd first called in her wings, but this time the light wraps around Shuusei's limb seeping in past the skin to the broken bone beneath, mending both bone and muscle and sending a soothing sensation along his nerves to chase away the last of the pain.
It takes her a few moments of intense concentration and sweat beads on her brow as she does so, because this seems to take a lot more out of her at this size than it did when she was a teenager and healing Izumo - who, ironically enough, had been injured by the same rampaging shinki. Not that Nanako's aware of that.
But once he feels right again - don't ask her for technical terms, she just knows when it feels that way beneath her hands - the glow fades and she glances up at him with a hopeful - if somewhat drained - smile. ]
There. Is that better?

New Arrival!
[After removing the cast on his leg in inadvisable ways, Shuusei's going to familiarize himself with the temple's kitchen. Wearing the same black button up shirt with the top few buttons undone, a loose red tie and black slacks as before. He's getting used to walking around again on both legs without crutches.
He's also rummaging through drawers and cabinets to figure out what this place has to offer and what he has to work with. He's totally not just some guy who wandered in here and is ransacking the place.]
[Wandering!]
[Assuming he is not violently ejected from the premises, Shuusei's going to look around the place. He's not trying to invade on people's personal space, he just doesn't know who sleeps where and where he's allowed to go. He didn't have roommates other than his last goddess last time.
Either way, if he spots another tenant, or if he happens upon a place he shouldn't be and gets called out on it, he tries to flash a smile and waves. See, harmless.]
[OTA]
((ooc: Just hit Shuusei up with a situation in the temple and I'll tag along. Everything is new to him again and he's in good spirits.))
The Kitchen
Homura's gaze is quiet and steady as she eyes him going through the place and looking for... something. She's made sure to stay quiet before piping up.]
If you make a mess, you have to clean it up on your own.
no subject
Don't you worry. I can keep a kitchen clean when I need too.
Though usually it's nice to offer to clean the kitchen if someone uses it to make something you really like, right?
no subject
Don't make that much of a mess in the first place.
... I help Souji and Nanako after they're done cleaning the kitchen.
no subject
So that means you could tell me where to find what I need later?
Oh, and I'm Shuusei by the way. Looks like they put me to work for Nanako as well.
no subject
[There is no reason for her to be this difficult, and yet here she is.]
Homura Akemi. I work with Nanako and Souji.
Kitchen!
Entering someone's home without invitation is still trespassing even in the Far Shore. I suggest you leave before --
[She then realizes who this person is rummaging through their kitchen. She blinks at him a little in surprise.]
Kagari-san? What are you doing here?
no subject
He offers an apologetic smile.]
Apparently they've assigned me to work for Nanako and I promised her I'd cook her up something nice once I got acquainted with things. Sort of a thank you for being a nice god and also for fixing my leg.
[He did try to keep the whole broken leg thing to himself when he could but now he's better and it doesn't matter as much.]
no subject
[Well, this is a surprise. Then again, it's not as though she had any right to be informed ahead of time of this development. In fact, in all likelihood, it was likely sprung on Nanako as well. Naoto's expression shifts to a more polite, welcoming smile.]
In that case, I suppose a welcome of some kind is in order. I trust Nanako has already filled you in on the current living arrangements?
Wandering!
He hears footsteps from the hallway through the wide-open door, and calls out to who he thinks they belong to before looking up.]
Hey, senpai, I need your opinion on--
[He looks up, only to catch a glimpse of someone he doesn't recognize. For a moment, he looks surprised, but he quickly breaks into a smile.]
Oh! You're new, huh? Hey.
no subject
There's just a moment of staring before he returns the smile. Everyone's got their talents and hobbies after all.]
I'm Nanako's new shinki so I guess I am. I'm Shuusei, nice to meet you.
[This guy might look like something else, Shuusei doesn't get the feeling he's actively dangerous to be around. Usually that's just a hunch and it's not like he can be sure it's accurate but he accepts it here.
Also... where are the adults?]
no subject
His smile persists; if he'd noticed the staring, he doesn't comment on it. He's used to it. Outside of the temple, he might have loudly demanded to know if Shuusei wanted to make somethin' of it-- but here, at home, he knows he's supposed to be able to feel at ease with who he is and what he loves.]
You, too. I'm Kanji-- 'Ptah' if you ask this place, but Kanji's fine.
[And easier to say.]
So you're Nanako-chan's? You lucked out, she's a great god to have.
no subject
[Something tells him that he's going to have to start learning more about what the different gods actually do.]
So three gods hang out at this temple?
[His last god had such a lonely temple too. This might take some getting used to. Not that he minds.]
no subject
Souji-senpai-- that's Nanako's big bro-- he an' I are friends back home. When I got here, Nanako was already stayin' with him, and they asked me to stay, too. Sooner or later, this place'll probably get too full and I'll head out to my own temple, but...
[He shakes his head, shrugging.]
For now, I like stickin' together. We're a family. Our shinki, too.
no subject
[That's a bit of earnest teasing. He doesn't even know if there was anyone worth remembering in his life to feel down about it.]
Well, if it's crowded I can always make myself comfortable and maintain Nanako's temple. My last god was pretty hands off so I'm used to being left on my own too. Besides, I don't want to break up good friends.
no subject
Nah, you're not breakin' anyone up! More the merrier, at the moment. An' I think, when the time comes-- I should probably get my own temple up and running. Most gods do. I'm just-- not great at bein' one yet.
