Who: Izumo and Open

Where: Far Shore, possibly Near Shore.
What: Post-Ablution stuff. Coping with missing friends and returned memories. Izumo doesn't appreciate haunting season.

A. Cnoc Áine - After Shizuo’s Ablution

[After performing the ablution on Shizuo with Chikusa and Goten, Izumo has decided to stick around Yona’s temple to keep an eye on the two. Normally he wouldn’t be around the temple so much, only ever coming and go briefly to visit Shizuo or Yona. He usually sticks to the room that ended up being his, but he’s actually out and about in the temple now.

If he looks a little tired, just pretend that he isn’t instead.

However, anyone around the temple might spot him in the halls or somewhere outside. Come and talk to him? Drink with him?]

B. Double Cross Bar - Memories On A Wall

[The moment he’s learned that Sora and Roxas are gone, Izumo felt a bit—not sad, per se, but something close to it. While he wouldn’t exactly call himself sentimental, he’s decided that putting up a photo wall can be at least one way of keeping memories alive.

So, after a day or two, he puts up a post on the BBS:]

If anyone has any photos of Sora and Roxas, mind if I have a copy? I’m working on a project right now, so I thought it’d be good to start with those two first.

[Anyone who does come to the bar will find Izumo leaning against the counter, focused on a blank wall to the side. He seems thoughtful, though he does glance over at anyone who comes in.]

C. When Will Dreams End? [Closed to Totsuka]

[He sent a text to Totsuka earlier that morning upon awakening. It’s not like how he reacted when he first remembered Anna, but now some things the man has said the few times they’ve met makes sense.

Choosing his bar instead of Mikoto’s temple or Totsuka’s temple was a good place to talk. With it still closed, it gives them the proper privacy they need.

Really, Izumo didn’t enjoy waking up suddenly remembering people from his past life, but it’s even worse now because this time, he’s aware of one fact about the god: he’s dead.

By the time Totsuka comes to the bar, Izumo already has a drink in front of him.]

D. Fade to Black

[It’s August.

It’s summer and it’s haunting season.

So, it’s not surprising that Izumo is being haunted by some ghosts that decides to play with him. Which is why he’s looking fairly unimpressed at a floating lighter, the sounds of childish giggles heard around him.]

Nope, he's here as a god. You actually know him, too, Goten.

.....Mikoto?

[Goten squints up at him]

But if you know how he dies, you can probably stop it then, right? Or he's alive here if he's a god. Don't worry Izumo.

It's not Mikoto.

[There's a pause before he chuckles.]

And no, I can't, Goten. Things usually happen for a reason and seeing that person here - well, he's already dead. Even if he's here as a god, there's no telling what will happen if he ends up leaving.

Mmmm wouldn't he go back to being dead if he leaves? Sorta like you and me?

[Goten just blinks up at him. Izumo's god friend isn't much different then a shinki then. At least, thats what Goten has heard happens when you leave. There's a bunch of theories. He frowns a little.

I wish there was a way to keep people here.

He would, I suppose. But it's better to see him alive than knowing he'll just be dead back at home.

[Totsuka is a special case, okay. But who knows what really happens when you leave this place.]

As do I, but we can't control that. Besides, what if there are gods here who wants to go home instead of staying here?

You should hang out with him more and do fun stuff together. Make the most outta him being alive again. That's what I'd do if that happened to me. I don't....remember anything though. Even if I try really hard it just makes my head hurt.

[He's too exhausted to try that now besdies, this is about Izumo's friend. Alive and dead really are confusing in this world because shinki are dead so the word itself doesn't hold as much meaning as it should. He understands Izumo's words but he doesn't know what he saw or how his friend died.]

I guess they could go home if they wanted but everyone that wants to stay here should be able to. I wanna stay here with you and shizuo and aymeric and everyone else.

[There's a bit of a pause before Izumo smiles.]

It's fine not to remember anything, Goten. The memories you make here are already important, isn't it?

[Don't be like Izumo who remembers someone who was practically his daughter and then his best friend who died first and set off a cycle of motions that could have been left avoided. He simply keeps up the smile.]

Well, this place is practically our home now.

[Goten stares up at him before giving a firm nod, looking determined as ever.]

Yeah! Super important! So you make more memories with me to, okay? And your friend that you remember! If they're a god I bet they'll be happy that you remember them.

[ Just don't be sad, Izumo, okay? Goten tugs on his hand gently again]

Well, we did talk. Still the idiot I remember.

[But he's rather fond of his idiots really.

When Goten tugs on his hand, he peers down at him curiously.]

So are you happy you remember then?

[The death part sucks but the rest of it...?]

I can try to make you something to make you feel better?

[Cause food makes things at least a little better]

Yes and no. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

[It's a very conflicting feeling.

A blink before he raises an eyebrow.]

What can you make?

Mmmm I'd try to think about the other things you remember then. All the good memories with your friend cause those gotta weigh out the bad. Besides, I bet he's happy you remember him.

[Goten can't understand it because he's never experienced that but he's trying. He just wants Izumo to be happy]

Whatever you want. I'll do my best but if it's something hard then you can't be mad if I mess up the kitchen or it taste bad.

[He grins before he has to lift is hand up to muffle a yawn.]

[A bit of a look before he smiles at Goten.]

Would you be happy then if I ever forgot about you and then remembered you?

[Sorry for the 'what-if' question, Goten, but he's gotta ask.

Though, he sees that yawn and knows what that means.]

We can always make something to eat together. I think it's time we actually get some sleep.

[That's not something he really wants to think about Izumo. His smile falls as he meets Izumo's gaze. He considers the question, frowning. It may because he's really tired but just thinking about Izumo forgetting him does make him upset. That's one of the worst things that could happen.]

Um, I'd be really sad if you forgot about me 'cause you're really important. But if you did I'd still try to be your friend all over again no matter what and then if you suddenly remembered I'd be really super happy. It's not your fault that you don't remember but you'd have your old memories and the new ones we made together. So...yeah, I would be happy after you remembered me again...

[Goten rubs his eyes before looking back up him, glaring just a little]

B-but that better never ever happen! 'Cause I'd also be really mad at you until you did remember and you'd owe me a free punch! I donno your friend but I still think he'd be happy to have you remember him, Izumo. And if you know he dies, then you can spend more time with him here that you couldn't before.

[He listens closely before he smiles, forever with that fond smile of his that he usually reserves just for Goten. It's not as easy as Goten puts it, especially with how by remembering Totsuka, some of the missing pieces are slowly connecting together and that's too dangerous to think about.

He's been good at not trying to think about it so much.]

Alright, alright. I can't put up a fight against that.

[Aaand he's picking up Goten now.]

[Thats a smile Goten usually likes to see but he doesn't really understand it in thise case. Did he help? Did he make it worse? He's being honest with his thoughts about it but he is still pretty young. It hasn't happened to him and he doesn't want it to ever. He likes Izumo too much.]

Really?

[Goten blinks slowly, mostly when Izumo goes to pick him up. But he doesn't fight him either, even lifting his arms to make it easier.]

Are you okay, Izumo?

[Between that and Shizuo's ablution and who knows what else.]

[It's okay if Goten doesn't understand why Izumo is giving him that smile right now. He doesn't want to worry him too much.

But the young shinki is picked up now and Izumo moves to one of the rooms on the second floor. It's something similar to a bedroom, after all. It just needed to be properly cleaned up.]

Mm, I think my exhaustion is finally kicking in.

[All things aside, Goten is still excited by the second floor but worry for Izumo comes first. He looks at him thoughtfully once more before leaning against him and wrapping his arms around his neck. Everything will work out, it always does. But Goten is here anytime Izumo needs him.]

Mmm I slept a lot already. I don't get why I'm tired.

[He understands why Izumo is tired but Goten shouldn't be sleepy...but he really is. Another yawn just echos that.]

[The hug is very much appreciated, Goten.

He chuckles softly.]

Doing an ablution can really take a lot out of you, especially if it's your first time doing it.

[It starts off as a hug but then Goten may be a little to lazy to remove himself, Izumo is comfortable.]

I wasn't this tired after seeing the first one. I don't think I've ever felt this heavy or anything.

[He grumbles into Izumo's shirt]

Ablutions aren't fun.

[That earns a soft laugh from him.]

You didn't participate in the first one, which explains why you weren't tired then.

[He makes sure Goten is comfortable.]

Were you this tired after that one?

[Maybe it was because it was Shizuo. All the same Goten is becoming dead weigh fast. Izumo picking him up practically sealed the deal on that]

I was.

[But Izumo smiles a bit. There's no bed in the room, but a futon is still good enough to suffice.]
