July Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[Who do you talk to about getting the wrong person for the job? Alex is a hundred and ten percent sure they made a mistake when they chose her for this. As they told her about what she would be doing with ayakashi and shinki, who she eas filling in for and all that, The words couldn't sink in yet. Sure it was a lot too, but it was more of how impossible it all sounded. Working with spirits to get rid of..not so good ones? Living in what seems like the spirit world, but not being dead? Answering prayers? Seriously? She's been praying for years but that never helped. If they couldn't do anything for her how was she, of all people, going to be able to do anything for other people?!
She let out a heavy sigh, sinking into a chair and burying her face in her hands. Shit, maybe she needed a stronger dose of her meds. This can't actually be happening.]
Rest and Refreshments
[Some air and a drink might help, although there wasn't any alcohol. That might be more of what she needs at the moment, but this will do. There are some other people around, but Alex isn't sure how to approach them. After all, they're either gods or spirits. Freaking gods and spirits. They actually exist.
She fidgets with the glads in her hand, deciding she's not ready to strike up any coversations just yet. Maybe she'll just check out the garden. Alex had never seen one like this before.]
god training
It's a lot to take in, isn't it?
Re: god training
Yeah..it really is.
[She offers a weak smile.]
I'm still not sure what to make of all this.
Training
[Dust can't ignore people who look miserable. It's not within his abilities. (Deliberately so, but hey, he doesn't know that.) So he addresses the woman from beneath his hat, though with all evident sympathy despite the lack of eye contact.]
Re: Training
Ahaha..it's a lot to...process.
[She moves her hands to clasp them over her lap.]
I really don't think I should be here...

[Dust motions around them with a slight movement of his hand.]
But... you are. All you can do is make the best of it.
no subject
But I don't know how. I'm not.. suited for this kind of thing.

[He's working on it, but he needs to understand her problems before he can try to offer solutions.]

rest~
So he sidles on over to her.]
Well hellooooo there. You're looking a little lost. Would you like me to help you find yourself?
[As far as lines go, it's not his best. But whatever.]
LAAANCE omg
Wha..!
[She turns to look at him, holding her glass a little closer to her chest in surprise. Oh. It's just a kid.]
That...would be helpful, actually.
[Her body relaxes, letting out a small laugh. A little lost was an understatement.]
/eyebrow bounce
...oh!
[Crap, okay, she agreed pretty readily. Right. Um...]
...well okay then!
[He can roll with this! Watch him!]
Which parts are you missing?
no subject
[She felt a little bad. He was being so earnest too.]
Sorry, it's nothing. I just don't think I'm god material.
no subject
He knows this kind of self-deprecating humor, yep. Okay, he can handle this.
Gently, he reaches out to pat her shoulder.]
I know the feeling. But the thing is that... you are one now! So it's... kinda something you've gotta get used to. You know?

rest and refreshments
Oh! Sorry, you didn't get wet, did you?
[The moment she stops her humming, the very faint spray will seize.]
Re: rest and refreshments
..Was...that you?
no subject
Y-Yeah, it was. Just practicing my other non-shinki powers for a bit.
[She couldn't help scratch her cheek a bit before returning to the garden.]
It felt like the flowers needed some more watering. This season's summer has been kinda brutal, even in these parts. You'd think the heavens would have a better handle of this than in the living world.

You mean..you had this power before you got here then?

God Training
He doesn't know her by sight. New?
From that reaction, he'd guess so. He speaks lightly.]
It can be overwhelming, can't it? Cho Hakkai. Pleased to meet you.
[Don't mind the naked sword in his hand; he's bowing politely regardless.]
Re: God Training
He..hello. Alex..Benedetto.
[She nods her head, talking carefully.]
Nice to meet you too..?
no subject
Oh, excuse me. Return, Hoshiimamai!
[The sword becomes mist, with a red old-fashioned character glittering in the center for a moment before it reforms into the shape of a blond man, taller than Hakkai, with long, elfin pointed ears. He takes up a position just behind Hakkai's shoulder, and doesn't speak.]
My shinki and I were just doing a bit of combat practice. Have you met your shinki yet?
no subject
Oh--I--no, I haven't actually.
[Not that she was sure she wanted to.]
I was going to look for someone else...I think there was a mistake? I don't think I'm the right person for..all this.

rest
[Nearby on a bench, a certain offensively tall teenager with a furry leopard print beanie pauses, one hand holding a book and the other raised up.]
....Oh.
[That seems to be his only response to someone nearly getting hit by one of his lines.]
Re: rest
That's when she hears someone's voice. She turns to the source, spotting the young man on the bench.]
Was..was that you?
no subject
[No point in denying it, after all, and he lowers his hand back to his book.]
I didn't think anyone would come out here...
