In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[Garry can sympathize with having no idea of what to do- he was in the same position not that long ago. So as he passes by the small group of shinki and such waiting to figure themselves out, he pauses and feels a bit bad for the blond over to the side.]

[It'd been a real mixed bag for him so... Maybe he can help make someone else's day a little easier.]

[So Garry approaches him, smiling as friendly as he knows how to.]

Hello there. You're most likely new, aren't you?

[He chuckles awkwardly and scratches his head.]

Guess I must be. Name's Prompto. That's... about all I know at this point. Nice to meet you?

I'm Garry. I know it's not much help, but... Everyone starts out in your position.

Have you met your god yet? Sometimes that can help a little bit.

[He shakes his head.]

No, not yet. It's a pretty intimidating prospect, you know? Meeting one of the big guys upstairs.

[artificialrose]

Ah.... I know how you feel. [He rubs the back of his neck.] Still, if it makes you feel any better... Try not to think of them as that?

For example, I can only speak on my god's behalf, but he's really rather normal. In a lot of ways, he's more like my boss then anything.

Like... a cool, chill kind of boss, or a workplace nightmare kind of boss? Bosses come in all shapes and sizes.

[He gestures as he talks. Prompto's a mobile kind of guy.]

Ah.... It depends, honestly. I'm not entirely sure how they match shinki to god...

[It's a bit worrying to think it might be randomized, but... At the same time, he guesses maybe it wouldn't be too unusual. Garry starts to rub the back of his neck, fingertips nudging into his hair.]

But if you ever have a problem, the good news is that plenty of people will come to help you out of a bad situation. Have you been given a phone yet?

Uh-huh! A really nice phone, too. I wasn't expecting people to be so generous, though I guess, if this really is heaven, it makes sense...

[He pulls his smartphone out of his pocket to show Garry.]

Everyone really gets one?

[artificialrose]

Yep! [Reaching into his pocket, Garry grins as he shows his own.] That connects to a network only gods and shinki can use- it's called the BBS.

So if you're ever having troubles, or need help... You can use that.

[His eyebrows rise, and Prompto taps expertly at his phone to see if he can find it.]

Nice! Handy. It's good to know they're not just, you know, throwing us into the deep end. They've got this network and this training thing set up... [He chuckles.] I'd be totally lost otherwise.

[artificialrose]

I know how you feel. It's a lot to absorb, so just focus on one thing at a time! There are a lot of people who want to help, I promise.

I don't think cruel gods are really tolerated here, so all you have to do is ask around for help.... but there are a lot of good people around, so I think you'll be fine.

I hope so. So far, everyone I've run into's been helpful. You know, like you.

[He nods to Garry with a smile.]

Have you been doing this a long time or something? Helping rookies, things like that?

[artificialrose]

Ah... if you would believe it, I was actually a part of the group before yours.

Oh, wow. So you're pretty new, too, huh?

[Prompto perks up a little. It puts him somewhat more at ease, having a senpai that's not so senpai.]

How long ago did you get here?

[artificialrose]

Oh.... [Garry laughs softly, loosely folding his arms.] Not long at all! Less than a month, I think.
