In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Arrival, before meeting Lucina

I'm so lost.

[Prompto murmurs it to himself more than anything else, sticking to the edges of heaven's meeting hall like he's nervous about drawing attention to himself, quietly wringing his hands. Nothing here is familiar, but he doesn't remember anything that could be familiar, and it's kind of freaking him out. All he knows is his name and that he died, somehow. Not something he wants to think too much about.

He watches the other gods and spirits, hoping to find someone that looks like they know what they're doing so he can figure out what he should do himself.]

Shinki Training

[Lucina found him, and he feels a hundred times better. Still existentially uncertain, but at least he's got somewhere to go and someone he belongs to. And she's nice! And pretty! And really, totally awesome.

He kind of wishes he could've stayed with her as she practiced using her cool goddess powers--apparently, this is as new to her as it (probably?) is to him--but at least splitting up means he can't embarrass her like he's embarrassing himself.]

L-line!

[He slashes his fingers through the air, but zilch happens.]

Rest and Refreshments

[Lucina's way more into training than he is. While he waits for her to finish up, Prompto can be found wandering the garden, doing... something with his heaven-provided smartphone. Whatever it is, it's taking him all over the place, and every time he finishes, he looks at his screen with a happy smile.]

Oh, yeah, that's a good one...

[He hums to himself as he goes. It's the most relaxed he's been since he arrived.]

May I ask what you are doing?

[Coming up from behind to glance over his shoulder at his phone, the pony princess is all gentle warmth and calm serenity as she poses her question. Certainly no suspicion in her voice, only curiosity.]

[Prompto opens his mouth to answer, but then he turns around and happens to see who--what?--exactly is addressing him, and he pauses for a second. He's never seen an animal like her. Has he? Oh, man, maybe he has and he just doesn't remember, maybe creatures--no, beings like her are common and he's the odd one out. No, that can't be it, he's seen lots of other human-shaped people around, gods and shinki alike.

Well, whatever she is, she's beautiful. He realizes he's staring and shakes himself, then tries a smile.]

I was just taking pictures! ...Uh, if that's allowed.

Oh! Of course. I am sorry, I completely forgot these phones can do that. [She shakes her head at herself, amused at her own lapse. Prompto's attentions go unremarked, because by now she is quite used to them. Nopony expects the pony, it seems, be they shinki or god.] We do not have devices like these where I come from, and our cameras are much larger.

Shinki Training

[Sorry for overhearing but... Okay, she's not sorry. It wasn't going to do any good to stand around doing nothing so she might as well help out.]

Nothing. Unless you consider being new something wrong. It takes time and practice. You can't expect to perfect it the first time you try.

[Riza remembered feeling much the same her first day, so it was kind of obvious who the newbies were. Give the way things were run around this place, at least he'd get plenty of practice.]

[He jumps, unaware anyone's been watching, then laughs sheepishly, rubbing under his nose.]

W-well, I was just hoping to get it down before we leave...

[After dithering a little and collecting himself, he clears his throat, sneaking glances at Riza all the while like he's waiting for her to tell him he's already doing things wrong, and then tries once more.]

Line!

[His form's okay, but nothing doing. Might be a confidence thing?]

I'm not going to yell at you, you know. It wouldn't do anyone any good.

[Relax kid.]

You've got the gist of it. Just... what are you thinking about when you try it?

[At this point, Sakon thinks he might just hang out at newbie shinki training in hopes someone gets the line thing on the first try and can explain it to him. He can make them, but it never seems to work quite right.

He walks over and pats this poor guy on the back sympathetically.]

It's tough, man! I still can't do it right and I've been here...

[He starts counting out the months on his fingers, but then he remembers how he measures the time and how it traumatized a newbie last time around and drops his hand sheepishly.]

A while. Yeah. A while.

[The pat on the back feels a familiar comfort, so even though Prompto doesn't know this guy (he doesn't know anybody, isn't amnesia a trip?), he's immediately endeared. He huffs and crosses his arms.]

Uh, dude. How long is a while? I'm my god's only shinki, I gotta make sure I'm not holding her back just 'cause I can't get a stupid line right. Is there a trick to it?

I--uhhh. Was... not aware I was in a boyband? Am I in a boyband? I--I don't think I know how to play any instruments.

Probably nothing, dude, it takes time to get the whole borderline thing happening.

[That sure is a...neon orange, winged, ghostly and feathery dude floating casually by. There's also a sword sticking through his stomach, though it doesn't seem to be causing him any kind of concern.

Rolling himself over so he's not on his back, Davesprite circles one taloned finger as if to indicate he should try again.]

Show me how you're doing it and I can throw you some masterful pointers from an almost-veteran. [A couple of months doing them counts as a veteran, right.]

[Whoa. He's... very orange. Prompto goggles at him for a second, but is polite enough--or at the very least, off his game enough--not to blurt out anything like 'dude, you're orange,' or 'buddy, are you aware of the SWORD in your GUTS???' Maybe this is just normal in heaven. Maybe he eats a lot of carrots. Maybe that's the trendiest new piercing.]

Uhh--yeah, okay. It's like this, right?

[He forms the correct shape with his fingers, presses his lips into a determined line, and then slashes them quickly through the air.]

Line!

[Aaaaaaaaand nothing happens. He groans and tilts his head up at the sky.]

Shinki Training

Don't worry about it! It takes most people a while to cast right.

[Tsuzuki's been working on his own borderline -- it's strong enough, but he still needs to learn how to hold it longer and keep it up even if he's distracted.

Most distractions probably won't be as bad as Gojyo falling through a ceiling onto him, but that just means they'll be easier to learn how to deal with...

He lets his own line fall, and heads over to the other shinki.]

How long have you been trying?

Like, half an hour.

[Whine about it more, why don't you, Prompto?]

Why are instruction manuals always so vague and unhelpful?

[Izumo chuckles softly from where he was watching.]

Nothing's wrong with you. I wouldn't get upset about it, especially if it's your first time casting one.

[Prompto groans and hides his face between his hands.]

Why's all this magic stuff gotta be so hard? Why can't it be, you know. Like magic?

Arrival

[Garry can sympathize with having no idea of what to do- he was in the same position not that long ago. So as he passes by the small group of shinki and such waiting to figure themselves out, he pauses and feels a bit bad for the blond over to the side.]

[It'd been a real mixed bag for him so... Maybe he can help make someone else's day a little easier.]

[So Garry approaches him, smiling as friendly as he knows how to.]

Hello there. You're most likely new, aren't you?

[He chuckles awkwardly and scratches his head.]

Guess I must be. Name's Prompto. That's... about all I know at this point. Nice to meet you?

Hey, it's you!

[Congrats, Prompto! You're getting what appears to be a little girl with her hair pulled back in a braid bouncing over. It doesn't surprise her that he's looking over the camera function of his app- he'd been doing something like that at one of the other training events, right...?]

[Needless to say, she has no idea that there's been a change of things.]

[Who is this? Is this someone he should know? HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING. AAAH.]

Shinki Training

Are you sure you have your fingers made correctly....?

[Although, from his place on the sidelines where he doesn't really seem to be practicing at all, Chikusa already has his suspicions on what is holding the other back. This isn't the first time someone has had trouble with borderlines during the training gatherings.]

I do, don't I? Right?

[He shows Chikusa. The shape's right, at least--he's had plenty of opportunity to see how other people are doing it, so it probably isn't his form.]

Arrival

It's a lot to get lost in.

[ Being one of the new shinki arrivals that were at the meeting hall, Hannah looks to the side at the young blond that matched her in height. Which was probably one of the only things that they had, though maybe one of her blue eyes matched with his.

Yet she makes an attempt at a comforting smile. ]

You feel that connection as well, correct? We'll just have to be reassured with the information that our gods will find us.

[He glances at her and then smiles, linking his hands together behind his back and starting to rock idly on his heels. They're in the same situation, huh? It's a little comforting, not being the only one.]

Yeah. Wonder what they'll be like... You think they'll be big, scary gods like some stories?
