Who: Emizel and OPEN
When: Aug 18th and forward, after the reaper meeting
Where: Various (Thanatos' Temple, in and around the Near Shore)
What: [Catch-All] Local death god going about his day, and totally trying not to be bothered by demon racism earlier that week. Taking care of butterflies (Sorta). Some closed off prayers to come later.
[A - Thanatos' Temple]
[Emizel was not too incredibly worried about staying hidden so long as he was at his temple. Besides if anyone really took William that seriously and wanted to do some demon discrimination of their own, a red flowery field was likely not their first spot to look.]
[It just gave Emizel time to focus on more important matters. Like figuring out how to raise his personal image with the delicate insects he's stuck with. Since he apparently can't replace them.]
C'moooon, can you at least do something useful? Any special attacks? Some secret I should know about? [Emizel was mostly submerged by red poppies, laying on his stomach and apparently trying to communicate with one such butterfly.] I-I am supposed to be your God, so I know you should hear me.
[The butterfly flapped its wings. --Wait it actually understood him then?? It gently took off to the air elegantly and... with all its might, landed directly on the brim of the demon's hood. Along with the ten or so other butterflies that had been crawling on him all this time.]
Oh come on!! [He sat up again and in his outburst some of the butterflies scattered away in a small cluster. A few going up high, others finding nearby flowers to rest on instead.]
[B - Near Shore]
[Emizel had not really explored much of the Near Shore yet, unless he was requested to do something. Since laying low was probably a good idea for awhile, he can't really get much lower than the human realm.]
[Surprisingly it was not the Emizel causing some attention, but rather a tiny fuzzy blue butterfly phasing in and out of existence for mortals. Only at the times it decided to fly around on its own though. Most of the time it preferred to hang on to Emizel in some way.]

a, probably early on the 18th
Once he hears the particularly loud, frustrated exclamation and sees the butterflies scatter in his peripherals, he sighs quietly and turns. Having seen some people with much more unwieldy temple animals and having a few of his own, he likes to think he has some knowledge in the area.]
Most temple animals are just normal animals, or might be more willing to listen to you than others. The point isn't to be something special.
no subject
They can hear me. They may be just doing this on purpose...
[It might be a possible difference.]
[How cutely, one lands on his hood again.]

A!
There was a lot more nature, for one, so she was particularly attracted to things like...for example, this poppy field. As far as she knew, only the rich could afford gardens like these, and those were behind tall walls and gates. Now, she could actually walk through them.
That's when she hears his voice. She turns in time just to see him sit up, a colorful swarm of butterflies flying up around him. Alex hoped she hadn't disturbed him...]
S-sorry..Did I bother you?

[Unless it's something a previous Thanatos planted. No doubt the cause of this 'infestation' now.]

...You seem to be having some trouble there.

I'm not having trouble...
[He should be asking how you found him here. Then again he should not be surprised.]

Prayer #49
[Izumo could only sigh when he ended up hearing the prayer, wondering briefly just how it got into Ra’s hands of all people.
Deciding not to get bothered by it, he went to check out the date in question, only slowing down curiously when he sees someone unfamiliar at the same place.
Tilting his head, he walks over to the one who looks like a kid and peers down at him.]

b, because no one else has; around 8/19
It’s enough to turn him around, mouth agape into an awed ‘o’ shape. And where should he see that butterfly again, but on the hood framing a familiar face. ]
Hello, again! Emizel, right?
[ He's good with faces and names. ]

What are you doing here?

[Sup Emizel, don't mind the troll who definitely just "mistook" a butterfly for a cockroach just now.]

[The voice comes not from nearby, but from up high where a pony-princess has paused mid-flight, a butterfly perched gracefully on the end of her muzzle. A quick glance down spots the rest of the flight, and she gently descends.]
Are these friends of yours?
no subject
N...no, not quite. They just live around my temple.
[Sorry Emizel's more distracted that he was talking to a pegasus.

But she does spot Emizel on her way to the arcade. The boy was familiar. He'd been at that meeting William called... and got the worst end of it, if she recalled. It would be polite to say hi, after all, right? Though the sight of that butterfly causes the smallest sad smile. ]
It looks like you've made a friend.
no subject
Huh--Oh. Yeah, some one them sorta just cling around time to time.
[It's on the hood. Even if Emizel looks up, he can't see it very well.]
Especially when I go out like this. I think they're afraid of getting lost...

[That's a weird-looking butterfly, all right; Tsuzuki's on his way to work at Kinyobi, but he's stopping to gawk regardless. He lifts a hand carefully, and holds still, trying to coax the butterfly to land on it.]
C'mere, I just want a picture...
[Is it native to Japan? Did it escape from somebody's collection? He's got to snap a phone pic for Sakura to look at, either way!]

A, 8/18
[How long has Add been standing behind him? Who knows, but he's apparently invited himself onto Emizel's property just because he can. He brushes a few butterflies away from himself as he looks around idly.]
They're probably not anything special, but if there are any "tricks" to the temple it may take some time to learn them.
no subject
[The butterflies brushed away immediately go to Emizel. Many of the others in area were avidly avoiding him for now.]
What are you talking about? [Can those tricks be better security please?]

Wildcard but A-ish I guess
As a result, Doku spies Emizel's efforts but from a comfortable distance. He doesn't wear anything to conceal his youkai clan markings or tipped ears while in the Far Shore, so it might be a bit more obvious he's not human - even this far out. It's Emizel's frenetic speaking that caught Doku's attention and so he approaches just close enough to be sure that no one he knows is on the other side of the conversation.
no subject
"Who is there?"

Emizel certainly hadn't been lying when he'd said he had poppies. Why it's an entire field of them, vivid hues of red - carmine, carnelian, crimson, Venetian red, vermilion, & Persian red as far as Alan's eyes could see. Beautiful!
He's pulled from his awe over the flowers by Emizel's rather loud shout which makes Alan chuckle softly to himself as he makes his way over to where the younger appeared, sitting up among crimson flowers.]
Yelling at them will only displace them for a while, dearheart. And they can't talk back to you at least not in anyway we could properly understand.
no subject
No, but they can probably hear me!
[Emizel stood still just long enough for one red butterfly to perch perfectly on the rim of the demon's hood. Seemingly not phased by the outburst that happened a few seconds ago. Others gathered in the area but at the moment were wary of there being a new god around. It was one thing if a shinki stopped by to visit, even ones not claimed by their god were tolerated. It was other visitors they were more uncertain of.]
