You Are Invited (Open)
Who: Sansa Stark/Dali & Open
What: Party!
When: September 6th
Where: Dali's Temple.
Warnings: TBD
❅ (Come) ❅
The path leading to Dali's tower is lined with softly flickering lanterns. You might encounter a small goat with a bell collar as you walk, but do not worry; he is only curious. The sound of music will swell as you near the tower's doors and within there is a large room, lit by glowing hearths and candlelight. Around the room's edge, there are tables ladened with food and plenty of places to sit. And, if you require a more private venue, there are smaller tables on the second floor.
Flower garlands are draped along the walls and there is a nook with a real tree. Do not be surprised to find other animals wandering about, either. While Sansa is rather fastidious and tidy, her experience as Dali has helped her appreciate nature so much more. She does not wholly mind cleaning up after her furred visitors, though, strangely, they all seem to mind their manners fairly well.
❅ (Be Merry) ❅
Once a crowd has gathered and the music is in full swing, Sansa will encourage her visitors to do as they please. Do not be frightened if you are pulled into an impromptu dance! Otherwise, let the wine flow, partake of any dishes that catch your fancy and try not to do anything that will damage her tower.

[Davesprite didn't initially answer Sansa's call considering she'd asked for "bards", which doesn't quite describe the kind of music he plays. Chikusa had kind of volunteered him for it, though, and he wasn't going to refuse once he was actually contacted.
So for a medium-length set, a certain neon orange bird guy with a sword through him takes the stage with a set of turntables, a computer, and all the odds and ends one needs to get some good electronic music happening. The songs he taps and spins out over the course of the performance, playing the turntables and soundboards as skillfully as any instrument, vary from understated breather tracks in a slow, quiet pace, to intense but melodic, all the way up to fast-paced music aimed at getting people moving. There's something for everyone, and no words are needed to get across the feel of the music.
Davesprite himself will be taking genre requests, and though he's got his headphones firmly on, if anyone approaches the DJ stand, he'll take them off to say hi. He doesn't really need them, they just make things more intuitive.]
I'm hoping this is a request or a social call, because any complaints are being taken by my reliable associate the trash can until the set is over.

[B: Merriment]
[After his turn on stage, Davesprite ends up lying around on a couch in the main hall area, having swiped a large bottle of apple juice and a bowl of fancy seed crackers from the food tables. He's just being lazy and using his telekinesis to lift one of the crackers towards his mouth when the start a particularly good song catches his attention, and he turns his head. The chance in focus flicks the cracker in that direction, more than likely hitting someone in the head.]
Whoops. [He doesn't sound that sorry, but he also doesn't sound like he doesn't care at all. His large sunglasses make it kind of hard to tell, admittedly.] I'm just gonna pass that off as declaring myself official cracker distributor, okay, you get a cracker sample and let's never speak of this again.
B
Um, sure.
Nice shot, though.
no subject
[And he's just going to telekinetically drop one of the crackers into his mouth properly this time.]
So, what are your thoughts on party central here.
no subject
I'm not much for social gatherings usually, but this one seems... alright. It doesn't seem too crowded, I guess.
no subject
[Parties that don't get somehow ruined by something are another matter, but hey, they haven't had a zombie attack in a while, at least.]
no subject
[She doesn't like crowds because she's a fucking shut-in nerd.]
no subject
[The idea behind this whole thing seemed more like a gathering of getting to know each other rather than some huge party deal.]
no subject
[She needs to ease into this whole 'going to social gatherings' thing, really. Yeah, still, even with as long as she's been here.]
no subject
[So, in a way, he's easing into things as well. It's just about performing rather than socialising, because he's plenty good enough at that part.]

[The fact that he's a very similar shade of orange to what he texts in is probably a bit of a giveaway.]
no subject
(That's a nice way of saying "I've never met someone who practically glows orange".)
Please do not forget to drink and make merry for yourself. The music need not be constant.
no subject
While he's not too fussed about the possibility of not getting to enjoy the party himself, he nods a bit.] I figure you've got other performers, so I'm just gonna do a set and then hang out. Probably won't be at it for more than an hour.
no subject
Plus there is something exceedingly satisfying about being polite while extracting justice.)Do as you wish. (She will not be upset with any choice he makes - as long as he doesn't demolish her temple.) I was thinking of attempting a song or two myself. How do you keep your nerves at bay?
no subject
...I guess just knowing you're prepared can help a lot. Like, if you go up there and you know what you're doing, you can tell yourself that you've done everything you can to make it great. You just have to trust that the audience will think it's great as well, so I guess trusting that the audience is on your side is another thing.
no subject
(If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. Badumtish.)
no subject
Yeah, definitely mind over matter. Or both, I guess.

[Chikusa has finally abandoned his food from where he'd curled up in a corner, just listening and occasionally tapping notes on his computer. If Davesprite hadn't been here, Chikusa's recommendation ignored, he'd probably have grabbed food for him and Ken and then left. There's only so much free food can motivate him for.]
[It's been... interesting listening to more of the music that Davesprite can compose, really listening to it and focusing on nothing else. He tilts his head down to the equipment.]
...Seems like it's working out.
no subject
Yeah, trash can fucking loves his job, all the paper and ink you can eat. [As for the actual set, though, that might also be a thing he should remark on.] It's going pretty well, yeah. Wasn't sure how well the audience would take, but they're still dancing, so I'm guessing I didn't fuck up bad enough to chase anyone out.
no subject
[Chikusa would know, listening attentively for the last few songs as he has been.]
What were you expecting?
no subject
[With some rather apt timing, he presses a few more keys on the soundboard and rotates the turntable back a little. It's basically the same thing but streamlined, as far as he's concerned, and the classicalists can eat it.]
no subject
...But I think the Heavens are varied enough for taste.
[Considering the vast amount of worlds and lives represented, after all.]
...I liked the calm one you did.
no subject
[This may or may not be somewhat of a touchy subject for Davesprite, as an electronic musician.
Being reminded that things have been going pretty well gets him off his temporary musical high-horse, though.] Yeah, I thought it might be good as kind of a cooler between the rougher stuff. Glad you liked it in its own right, though, makes the set flow better if it's not just totally out of place.
no subject
[He's more than happy to move onto talking about the music itself, chin bobbing slightly in acknowledgment.]
It... still feels like movement. [His shoulders twitch. A shrug, probably?] I can't really explain music.... yet... But it feels... resigned. Persistent.
[Another more noticeable shrug, although only one shoulder takes part.]
no subject
[It's not really like visual art and writing, where static styles have their place in certain genres. Or at least, that's how he feels about it.]
