Who: Izumo and you
When: September 17-19
Where: Double Cross Bar, abandoned temples, or every other temple
What: Aftermath of the Moon event, possible Welcome Center things, and Izumo just needing a huge break from this all.

[A. Double Cross Bar - Morning]

[Anyone who decides to come to the bar today will surprisingly find it closed. There’s no sign that states the reason why, but it is.

Until Izumo walks up to the bar, eyebrow raised upon seeing whoever might be waiting outside.]

Haven’t been waiting long, have you?

[B. Training]

[It’s been a while since he’s actually done any sort of training with his borderlines, so he’s taken up a spot at an abandoned temple. He doesn’t really seem to be focused on doing the regular borderline casting spell, but is instead working on the offensive type.

Which is why anyone who’s walking by should immediately backtrack the moment an offensive borderline surrounded in flames flies by their face.

Izumo looks somewhat apologetic.]

Did you get hit?

[C. Temple Hopping]

[Due to his injuries from Grell, healed by Mikoto, Izumo has mostly taken up residency at Yona’s temple. There are some days where he would suddenly disappear without a word to the main residents there, often being at either Aymeric’s or even somewhere near Nari’s temple. Since he’s still recovering, he’s trying not to move around too much, but he also hates staying still as well.

It’s why it’s not surprising to see him around Cnoc Ainé, Neptune’s Compound, or even Forseti’s Temple. Anyone who runs into him at or near these places are free to bother him or convince him to get some more rest. Being hurt by a chainsaw isn’t exactly the best, after all.]

What are you apologizing for, Eric?

[A curious look over at him.]

[ Oh where does he even start? He's silent for a long while, just moving his fork a little here and there. ]

Ah...well...I...

[ He looks down, avoiding looking at Izumo. ]

I burnt Goten. By accident...

[ As he continues he curls up just a bit more, preparing for a punishment or to get kicked out. ]

I see.

[He watches Eric for a beat longer.]

If it's by accident, then that's fine. I may have done worst to him in our training sessions. So long as it's been taken care of, there's no need to fret.

That's...that's it?

[ He looks up to him, confused. ]

But...that time at the park...I mean, I called Hitsugaya and he healed him up but you had said...

[ Sorry Izumo he had not been expecting forgiveness. ]

If you had burned him on purpose with ill intent, then that'd be a different story.

[Izumo gives him a reassuring smile.]

As long as no one was too badly hurt, it's fine. I have no reason to be angry, especially at you, Eric.

We were playing, he had a water gun but then...I just...I don't know I got scared and he didn't stop so my aura just...came out and he tackled me.

[ So it wasn't ill intent? Maybe? He doesn't know. Also someone teach Goten about boundaries, Eric doesn't know how. ]

And I was going to tell you sooner...but then Mikoto made that stupid post and I came by. And I know I shouldn't have, but...then after talking with him, I thought maybe you were all part of the gang that made me a dog so I didn't know what to do...

[ He was on a roll now, and couldn't stop even if he wanted to. But he still looked a bit scared and uncertain. ]

And then that moon viewing happened and everything was a mess. But I told Ren what happened at that meeting. And said that I wouldn't see you guys again if he didn't want me to, because that could cause trouble. But he said even if Mikoto's a big idiot didn't mean he was a bad person. And that it was okay to still see you as long as I was careful. So now if you want you can come over to my temple...to see the cats. Or...Shibau. He's uhm...a dog.

[ Finally he stops, catching his breath. He wasn't sure why he just spilled everything that's happened to Izumo, but, he probably had to do it at some point. And Izumo felt like a good choice. Even still, he didn't look at him, feeling guilty for bothering him with all of this. ]

S-sorry.

[Izumo doesn't say anything, allowing the other shinki to have a moment to talk. He knows how excitable Goten can get and how fidgety Eric can be after the last few times he's seen the other blond, so it isn't too surprising for him to hear about Eric attacking him out of fear.

It's only when Eric talks about Mikoto's gathering that Izumo's expression shifts imperceptibly, easily unnoticed to anyone who isn't too close to the older shinki.

He knows very well that anyone who bears the tattoo or anyone with even similar powers would be subjected to feeling some sort of fear or irritation after what's happened. The only person he's talked to in the aftermath was Munakata, but only because Izumo had still been lingering around when he and Mikoto fought. However, now there is some concern inside of him to know that Eric had come and talked to Mikoto about whatever it is that's been bugging him.

When Eric finally stops to catch his breath, he's still quiet, eyes calculating. Finally, he breathes out a silent sigh and places his hand on top of his head, a steady comfort.]

You have no need to apologize. [For anything. For something Mikoto has done. For everything else that's come after.]

But I'll happily take that invitation to visit yours and Ren's temple some day. It sounds like you really have a good god looking after you, Eric.

[ It's been a while since his memory, but, the hand on his head felt good and just a little bit frightening. He did tense up, but only a little. It was more reassuring to him. He felt a bit silly now, for thinking that maybe Izumo, Yata...the others were a part of that group. They did seem to care about him, and, well...they were good people.

Maybe things weren't that bad.

He still feels like he should apologize, he did think he was bad, even for a short time. But he nods, because he said a lot and it had been a bit draining on him to finally say all this stuff. ]

He's...a good god. I think, you would like him.

[He doesn't move his hand when he feels Eric tense, patiently waiting to see what he'd do. When he feels him relax, he can't help but ruffle his hair in an affectionate gesture.]

Ah, I can't wait to meet him then. If you're talking about him, that means he's truly special to you.

[And in a way, that's how it's supposed to be, right? For a god and shinki to be able to cherish each other in some way, forming a bond of trust. From the way Eric worded it, it sounds like Ren truly does genuinely care for him, too, and that's enough for Izumo to be happy for his friend.]

[ His face goes a bit red at the hair ruffling and he manages a bit of a small pout. Although it did feel...nice in a way. ]

There was...a rough start. [ Hibari and Eric's lack of wanting to help. ] But he sees shinki as team mates, not underlings. He doesn't pressure.

[ Even when Eric refused to help, Ren still wanted to help him. Stay at his temple or find someplace else if he wanted to. He was glad he had a god that was so understanding. Hearing all the bad gods out there, Eric wouldn't be so sure he wouldn't be acting more like he had in that memory, with someone like that. He's still grateful he hasn't left him either, to change gods would be...difficult ]

I'm glad, I got him.

That's a good view for a god to have.

[And really, it was fortunate that Eric has remained with a single god during his stay here. Unlike himself who's already on his third god with his first two not remaining long, or Yata who's been used briefly once by a god and lost his own before getting his original god, or even Fushimi.

It's safe to say that Eric's managed to get the good end of the stick here.]

I'm happy for you, too, Eric.

[ If Eric had traded hands with a few gods, or had a bad one, he probably would not be as well as he was today. Out of everyone it was best that Eric had more stability ]

Ah...thanks...

[ He fiddles a bit more before going back to his food, almost down with it now. Ah, this was getting embarrassing, he should change topics. ]

Was the uhm...gathering bad for you?

[ Not the greatest topic but, he was curious. ]

[At the change of topic, Izumo pauses for a long moment before he finally breathes out, exasperated and tired and seems to be overall done at the moment.]

Could have been better, I'll admit. It seems like things just escalated all too quickly at the gathering.

[ Just seeing the change in Izumo realized he made a bad choice. No one had a good night that night, did they? ]

I don't think, he planned that out...well.

[ But perhaps he should try and change the topic. He finished the last of the food. ]

No, he didn't. [An edge creeps into his voice, but it's not directed at Eric.

Izumo is just...annoyed.

He gives him a nod.]

You're welcome. And Eric, it's fine if you ever want to decide to sleep here for a night, too. I do have some bedrooms upstairs that can be used. Goten and sometimes Shizuo uses it when they don't want to head home yet.

That bad, huh?

[ The only thing that he's gotten from the whole thing is everyone feels like Mikoto is an idiot.

The offer was surprising as it was kind. Although hearing the word bed made his stomach twist in uneasiness. He nods, though once again he avoids looking at the other. ]

I'll...keep that in mind.

I've yet to talk anyone from that gathering tell me it's been a good one.

[That definitely does seem to be the majority vote.

But he gives Eric another light hair ruffle before he pulls his hand back.]

I hope you do. [And he says it honestly.] But was there anything else you'd like to talk about?

Didn't do much besides cause gloom.

[ Sure it made them know who was part of their world but the backlash alone wasn't worth it.

He bites his lip. He was bothering Izumo, wasn't he? He couldn't keep just telling him his problems. Although this one it would be easier to explain with him. ]

Don't know if its really worth talking about...

[ It was too easy to talk to Izumo. Too easy to let down his guard with him. Maybe that says something about what group they were... ]

[Some things are worth the risk.

Izumo isn't sure if this is one of them.

He raises an eyebrow.]

If it's something that's bothering you, I'm all ears. There isn't anything you haven't said that doesn't have some worth to it.

[ He fidgets with his hands for a moment, debating in his head whether this was a good idea or not. Well...he's come this far. ]

That time...when you found me...young me. You remember?

[ As easy as it felt talking to Izumo, he still was reluctant. ]

Yes, I do.

[And he hasn’t brought it up again given how Eric reacted the last time he did.]

[ He appreciates him not bringing it up. It confused him to no end. But, he was the one who saw him act like that and it was either tell Izumo or tell Nanako...and well, the girl was trying to help him too much. ]

I...was scared or... about going on the chairs. Or other furniture. Like I wasn't allowed to go on them...and...

[ This sounded stupid, didn't it? Why was everything just so stupid like this? This was really hard to explain but since Izuno saw it, maybe he'll understand better. ]

It's...back. Since the moon festival.

[There is no judgment in his eyes, no hint of it on his face. Instead, he might even look somewhat worried, a glimmer of it in his eyes.]

Have you spoken to Ren about it? [Because while he's flattered Eric seems to trust him enough with this knowledge, Ren really should be the first one to know about it.]

[ He shakes his head. ]

No... [ Honestly he's tired of always having to tell Ren. He's got so much more to do then just help his shinki with these weird issues. ] It's just with beds...and some chairs anyways.

[A soft hum. He doesn't say anything about that, but then there's a hand on Eric's head again. The touch this time is heavier, reassuring Eric in its own way through the small contact.]

I'm happy you told me this, Eric. [Because that, in itself, is a kind of trust that makes Izumo feel honored.] Even if it's just beds and chairs, you have to remember that there is no one here who will do that to you. I can't speak for anyone else, but I can assure you that there is no need to fear that when you're around me.
