Summary: The new Crazy Cat mascot keychains are sparking real passion in Tokyo's hot spots. Brawls have broken out over the extra-rare versions, and all of this angst is attracting ayakashi. The gods have been asked to step in before things get out of control.

Crossing Crisis
- The Shibuya scramble crossing is always busy, but it's especially wild today. Ten new Crazy Cat vending machines have been installed at the mouth of the alley across from Shibuya Station's exit. Rumors are flying that these machines have extra Blue-Star Cats in them: the very rarest kind! A crowd of hundreds of excited fans have gathered, but the people at the front of the lines are buying lots of cats, and the mood is starting to grow sour as the people at the back of the lines begin to wonder if there will be any left by the time it's their turn.
This crowd needs crossing guards... or just someone who can snag some of those ultra-rare Cats and sell them to the back of the line for crazy cash. Everything a god does is righteous, after all.
Sunshine Struggle
- Crazy Cat machines dot the Sunshine City complex in Ikebukuro. The machines here are attracting some particularly nasty ayakashi: jealous little purple creatures with too many legs that stoke buyers' envy and need for more and better collectibles. Under their influence, it's not just the Cats going fast. The local stores are selling out of everything cute on the shelves.
Worse, some of the ayakashi victims are turning to theft when they run out of pocket money. Time to exterminate those bugs before they start a new crime wave.
Taking Stock
- Accident? Sabotage? No one's telling, but a delivery truck carrying boxes of new keychains to restock the machines blew a tire and overturned on a major street. Under the influence of those greedy little ayakashi, collectors are descending on the wreck to snag their favorites before the police show up.
The dazed driver doesn't know what to do, the crowd is starting to get violent, and those Cats do look amazingly cute. And appealing. And, for that matter, valuable.
Bad Kitty
- The cat keychains are super cute! Even gods or shinki might be tempted to buy one and take it home, but taking these keychains back to the Far Shore will give away their hidden secret. It's not just human envy that's attracting ayakashi to the Crazy Cats. There are ayakashi hiding inside this batch of cute kitty dolls, and bringing them through a shrine to the Far Shore will force the hidden creatures out of their plushie prisons.
They're big, they're mad, and they're hungry. And the Heavens are full of souls that smell delicious.
The ayakashi escaping from Crazy Cat dolls on the Far Shore resemble gigantic (taller than a person at the shoulder) versions of the cute plushie cats, with very real and sharp teeth and claws. They run and attack at random once released from the dolls, so even gods and shinki who did not bring the toys back could be faced with a fight. The patrolling shinki will do their best to hold them back with borderlines, but they need help to rend these crazy cats before they do too much damage!

In Summary:
- Placate the crowds
- Squash bitty ayakashi
- Struggle with temptation
- Defeat the cat invasion
- Have fun~

[Cardia has decided to take an uncharacteristically direct approach to this problem. She can't stop what's happening, but maybe she can slow it down? At any rate, she's taking advantage of the tendency for people to overlook the denizens of the Far Shore and slipping quietly through the crowds in front of the capsule machines. She seems to just be passing by, but in her wake the buying frenzy is suddenly halted.
The machines have stopped working. Store owners are fielding a sudden barrage of complaints, making calls to try to get them fixed, and just baffled as to how the coin slots seem to have... melted? Cardia pauses to watch for just a moment, then moves on to the next batch.]
Sunshine Struggle-
[The next batch unfortunately comes with a different problem. These purple bugs lurking around and adding fuel to an already raging fire. Something needs to be done.]
I wonder if I could draw them away...
[Ayakashi are attracted to the smell of gods after all. It stands to reason that a few of them might follow her if she got close enough.]
Sunshines
[He's not going to let you go in that alone, Cardia.]
Re: Sunshines
[Lavi gets a relieved smile. Between the two of them, they have a lot more options. Cardia takes a moment to look back at the crowded capsule machines lined up in front of the store and the ayakashi lurking at the edges of the crowd.]
And I think I have an idea. A sudden downpour would probably send a lot of the people running for cover, wouldn't it?
[Rather than try to draw them away, her new idea is to use Lavi's shinki power to clear the area out a little so they can deal with the ayakashi.]
no subject
It definitely would.
[And it would definitely get the people away from the ayakashi.]
Let's do it.
no subject
Right.
[And then she extends a hand and calls her shinki's name.]
Keiki!
[And once he's in her hand, she holds him up.
Which.... okay she actually doesn't know if that has any effect on weather control but it seems logical.]
Okay, let's make it rain.
[The real shame of that is that Cardia has no idea that phrase is a euphemism for anything else. A tragic waste of a potentially clever quip.]
no subject
One rain coming up.
[And above in the sky, the clouds are beginning to gather and darken. Fortunately, it's not a thunderstorm he's calling upon (he's still not sure how this is supposed to work to be honest), but it's not long before drops of rain begins to fall down, growing steadily worse as more comes down.]
Crossing Crisis
stalkinglooking from afar, but the sudden influx of faulty gacha machines piques his interest. With both being from Far Shore and his excellent eyesight he notices what Cardia is doing, and approaches her on the way to the next batch.]That's an interesting approach.
[Oh hi, don't mind the sudden tall stranger wearing all black.]
Re: Crossing Crisis
[There is a small exclamation of surprise. She hadn't noticed him watching. And without being sure just how much he actually saw, she has to be careful what she says.]
I suppose so. Breaking the machines won't stop any of this, but I hope it might slow it down.

no subject
[It's almost more of a curse than a skill, but she does get some use out of it.]
no subject
...I see. [he's impressed that she's trying to help despite this condition.] It must be hard.
Sunshine Struggle
Or maybe they would listen if we ask them to just go?
[Then this person wouldn't have to wander off alone with them. They're small enough that it can't hurt to try, right? Crouching down so that she's level with a small cluster of the greedy creatures she makes the attempt.]
Hello little guys! [It's her first time really dealing with an ayakashi up close and personal. . . ] You're causing problems here, so do you think you could please leave?
Re: Sunshine Struggle
There's a moment of stunned surprise before Cardia calls out in alarm]
W-wait! Don't get too close.
crossing crisis
[Trying to make an escape from this situation without being seen, Cardia? Yeah, Chikusa was watching. At least he doesn't seem to be judging...? But then, it is the same dull expression as usual.]
Re: crossing crisis
I thought breaking the machines might give us more time to work out a solution.
no subject
[That's sure an extreme conclusion to jump to, although with how worked up these crowds are, well, you never know. Chikusa doesn't seem particularly perturbed as he mentions the idea, however.]
no subject
Some of them will. But some will be deterred too. At any rate, it's all I can really do right now.
