[Open Mingle] End of Summer Lucky-Pot
Who: Anyone and Everyone!
When: September 22nd
Where: Cnoc Áine
What: It is the final day of Summer and the first day of Fall so the Temple of Áine, the Irish Goddess of Summer, throws one last picnic to bid her season farewell. All are welcome, as long as they bring a dish for thelucky-pot potluck.
[ To celebrate the final day of Summer, the Temple of Áine has gone all out, decorated in vibrant shades of red and gold that already accent the hint of leaves that are changing outside the temple grounds. Although inside the walled temple, it still seems like a beautiful summer day, the leaves on the trees still a bright vibrant green. The picnic is set up in the large orchard that spreads within the temple, the trees' boughs heavy with brightly-hued apples of every flavor and crispness.
Blankets and tables are scattered beneath the trees and in the clearing at the center, several long tables are set up to be filled with dishes brought by guests. Yona has supplied some of it herself, with the help of some friends. Several roasts, carefully sliced and carved for guests. A large platter of corn still on the cob. Several types of breads, seasoned with fruits or vegetables from the summer seasons or the harvest. And apples, of course - those seem to be here and there and everywhere; in pies, sliced and paired with peanut butter or caramel or other dips, made into a buttery spread for the loaves of bread. No matter what people bring to add to the potluck, there will be plenty of food to go around, as well as wine and ciders generously offered to go with it.
There is music playing in the background, just to set the mood or for people to dance to, and the pools of water are still warm enough for people to take a soak or swim in. And when the sun sinks and the sky darkens and the air grows a little cooler, a large bonfire is lit, with hot cocoa passed around and the makings for s'mores set out for anyone who wants to have a little dessert after their feasting. One last offering to a fading summer until it comes around again. ]

Just because I left the crowd for a while, doesn't mean I'm against a good company. If I wanted to be alone I'd just leave the party.
[ He wouldn't have qualms about that, really. That's what he's trying to say ]

Get a new fishing pole yet, or did you finally track down the kappa for revenge?
no subject
But yeah, I should just- go and buy the equipment. Especially since I got a blessing of the goddess of fishing.
no subject
[You walked into that question, Caster.]
Merciful maybe, or more likely just not angry enough to hunt it down.
no subject
Nanako, - Nanshe - among other things, she's a goddess of fishing! [ She also should be a patron of adorableness, seriously. ]
no subject
Ah. I'm not surprised although I didn't know that. I know she has a really nice garden on her temple grounds. Told her if she needed a hand she just needs to ask.
[She should totally be patron of adorableness. So many big brothers and sisters for the young Goddess...]

You one of those helpful types? There's a lot of them here lately.
[ Or maybe that's a requirement for a shinki, he almost is going to consider such possibility. No, seriously, they should form a club. Though he suspects if Archer and Trunks were both nominated as leaders they would be locked in permanent "no, you take that honor" loop, until the end of days. ]
no subject
[Guilty. Trunks just tries to think of others, and be helpful. It's not a bad thing in his mind, as he does try to take care of himself too.]
Some people helping when you don't want it?
no subject
[ As with everything, it's a case of not overdoing it. The golden middle, or something like that-- but yeah, no lecture from him, it's not that he's the one to tall ]
So how did you help with the party?
no subject
[There's a shrug, and it's small things. But every little bit does help, right?]
no subject
She's incredibly dedicated, isn't she? [ The gossiping doesn't hurt if the person you're gossiping about doesn't hear, right? ]
no subject
no subject
Great strategy, I commend your technique
[ Especially the part about shoving the plate and drink in her hands ]
no subject
It likely didn't hurt that I was counting on politeness and manners to make sure she took the food and drink too. Even then, I did reassure her that yes I'd already eaten as well.
no subject
[ Please don't say you're having fun watching everyone else having fun. There's being helpful, and there is forgetting about yourself entirely ]
no subject
I have been having enough, so don't worry about me. It seems like there's always some big event or party happening lately though. Maybe it's the season?
no subject
That festival earlier was also related to celebrating the harvest. Ours was still a month away from now- but look like this type of events happened everywhere.
no subject
no subject
[ And "saying goodbye to the dead" holiday along the way too, but eh, details ]
no subject
Still, it's nice to meet her finally. And the party is nice. Casual, without much pressure. Although I've been trying to meet people whenever new arrivals show up too.
no subject
I think I've just seen some new victims arriving. Care to join me greeting them?
[ Or don't - he understands the simple pleasure of sitting on a tree ]
no subject
I should probably worry at your calling them victims, but I did come to be social. Somewhat.
no subject
[ And have some old, good-natured dickery being thrown at you Trunks ]
no subject
For you, maybe. I'm usually trying to keep them from being hit by stray training-dummies gone wild.
[He can tease back, so it's all good.]
