What: Yata needs help.
[ He'd promised Saru the night before that he'd go talk to Izumo first thing this morning and he keeps his word. He just might... take his time in getting there, an unusual air of hesitation in his actions when he finally arrives outside the gates of Izumo's new temple. Stalling for far too long, he does eventually kick himself into getting on with it, heading up to the entrance to knock on the door. ]

I'm not interested in some pissing match about who's in charge. I answer to Izumo and I'm here to keep him safe.

[ It sounds cool and he feels like he should have some really cool and awesome title to begin with. So this will do suitably.
He's also going past this honor chat on how he's above pissing matches and only wanting what's best for their god. It's naive to think that the only reason for being here is to keep Izumo safe.
They should be helping with making him the top god that could take over all the others. ]

Usually people who care about titles are the assholes who want to be smug and superior about them and make life hell for everyone else. [ Not that he's biased or anything. Then again, he comes from a gang, he doesn't have much respect for people who haven't earned it with him.
Although Judar's comment gets a confused look from him as he shifts to lean back against the doorframe, arms still crossed over his chest. Considering Judar hadn't lept to attack him at his announcement, he's relaxed more back into his typical easy attitude, although he's still watchful, since he doesn't know this guy. ]

[ There's no point in lording it over some other shinki under Izumo's rule. They both served the same god, after all. Other people, however... Being an exemplar made you sound important and cool. Which, once again, is the important part of this. ]
You've got eyes, so you can tell that there's a hierarchy in this place. So we gotta do something that'll have Izumo get out of these slums and eventually stand above those old gods. Which is gonna take more than just borderlines and whatever else that can be done as shinki. So what else do you have?

Yeah, there's a hierarchy. The old gods are all above the new ones that came here from somewhere else. Think they're better than them, too. Personally, I think it's bullshit and they just don't have any other explanation for whatever's going on. But I guess the new gods do have a lot of catching up to do, to become as famous as the older ones. They've been doing this longer.
As for what the other shinki can't do... [ He hesitates a moment before shrugging and glancing around. He didn't see why he couldn't show JUdar, especially if they were supposed to be working together for Izumo. ] I guess that would be this.
[ He holds out his hand and lets his fingers curl into a fist. A moment later, flames spring into being, surrounding his hand and spreading up his arm, though it doesn't burn him. Although JUdar might be able to feel the sudden surge of heat from it, even where he's perched. ]

[ He'll probably still try to get you to do things, but that's because you're more familiar with the technology and everything. Which is pretty different from expecting stuff due to their positions.
Seems like they're on the same page- at least when it comes to wanting to put the old dusty gods in their place and stop underestimating someone like their god. It seems like there wouldn't be too many clashes from that kind of thing, which was what really mattered. They could fight and bicker, as long as they were going the same way along the same path.
Man, that fire, though. He can feel and really see how it looks. Actually, it sort of looks- ]

Yeah, we have the same kind. I guess we come from the same place. There's a couple of us who do, although I don't know a lot about it. It does different things, I think. I've never seen Izumo use it the same way I do, but it feels like the same kind when he does, at least.

Heat magic is just a type. There's something weird or specific about the origin or application, but it's still just a category. Just think of what could be done as spells- Izumo knows more and is better at other spells than you.

Well, duh. First of all, he's got all his memories back now. And second, spells are not really what I do. I can do some and I'm still learning the rest, but I usually prefer to just go punch things instead. You can stand back and do magic for him, since you seem to know so much about it.
