Where: Anywhere!
When: All of October 2nd
What: Add's experiment starts to affect the Far Shore, causing rifts and mutated ayakashi to begin appearing all over. Please refer to this post for details and questions.
Spatial Tears
The first few cracks are small, barely anything noticeable, but by morning the tears have widened enough to start leaking a chaotic and unsettling energy. Spend too much time around them and you'll start feeling strange. Memories get foggier, emotions start to run wild or go missing entirely... whatever's causing this, it's not good.
Luckily, magic seems to be enough to force them back, and a bit of holy water can seal up a weakened tear in no time. Better get to work!
Freak Ayakashi
Ayakashi are rare on the Far Shore, but not completely unheard of. The ones that linger too close to the tears receive a much more sinister effect compared to gods and shinkiβthe energy seeps into their bodies in the form of glowing blue patterns, granting the ayakashi even more strength and the power to spread more tears and corrupt energy with their blight. These ayakashi are aggressive and will attack heavenly beings on sight.
... but many of the ayakashi will be very familiar to the older of the outsider gods and shinki. A large number of small Noise ayakashi have ended up in the mix somehow, resembling the ones that escaped from the chocolates way back in March. They're small, but incredibly dangerous, and it'll take a coordinated attack to put any kind of dent on them.
Henir's Temple
A massive tear can be seen looming over Henir's temple, and it grows larger and larger as the day goes on. The temple grounds are a mess, and it seems like this might be the source of the trouble. Is there something inside the temple that might put a stop to all of this?
Later in the day, a piercingly bright golden triangle shines through the darkness of the giant rift. Whatever's going on in there, it's not just Add that's involved.
((If you want your character to investigate the temple, please contact me first! I can be reached on plurk atBlueFlewFedUQueen, by PM, or you can respond to the event OOC post. This is just to keep track of who's going where, so if you've already spoken to me about it in some capacity you're A-OK :|b))

Spatial Tears
Do I know you?
[She seems so sincere in her efforts to help - yet so young in appearance, from his perspective - that he can't help but feel like she thinks she knows him.
And that red hair...]
no subject
No. ( She shakes her head, ) You just l-looked like you could use a hand.
( She'd seen him take care of the blight on his sword. So it's a shinki? She can't think about it more than necessary right now, )
But, please... if you're hurt, let me heal you. Y-your shinki too.
no subject
I... yeah, I probably did.
[Looking down at his weapon, he nods.]
There's just no end to these things. Take care of Meji first, if you're the healing type.
[With that, his shinki reverts - but he's the mellow sort. One of those Soulless. Meji is an adult man and has his name covering his right eye that's sealed shut.]
no subject
( Soulless or not, if he needs help, she'll help him. She also won't ignore Dokugakuji-- she can tell he's tired from fighting and is already worried about exhaustion.
She reaches for her bloom festal at her side and raises it. There's a shining light and a scent of cherry blossoms in the air and Meiji should feel somewhat refreshed with any injuries beginning to heal. It isn't the most potent staff so more serious injuries will need to be tended to properly later but..for now, this is the best she can do in a short moment.
When she's finished, she glances at Dokugakuji, )
We need to leave here. ( She's no expert but as a healer, she has a bit of knack for spotting patterns when it comes to one's health. ) It's these tears... ( She isn't sure exactly what they do or what they're for but she knows that the people she's helped have appeared worse around them, ) You need to recover.
no subject
No, I can't leave yet. Do you see how many there are? I'm a warrior - I have to keep going when others can't.
[He looks over at Meji, knowing he won't get a response, but just trying to inspect her work and smiling.]
Meji's the one I can't get a good enough read on for his tolerance. Masaji's no better, but she's not a weapon.
[He tries to get up, even with some of that blight lingering on his hand. He reaches out for Meji, knowing he'll be able to withstand a 6-foot-plus youkai using him to steady himself as he stands.]

She visibly frowns and carefully considers his words. He insists on fighting but is it really for the best? He looks like he could do better but it probably isn't the worst.... she isn't sure how much he can really endure. Quietly, sadly, )
... I-I understand. ( Really. And with quiet determination, ) Let me come with you. I promise I won't get in the way a-and this way if you're hurt I can help both of you.

But that tone of voice she's got strikes a chord with him. It's reminiscent of Yaone - someone both delicate and feminine, yet driven in the same way that he won't be dissuaded from his own 'mission'.]
If that's what you wish, then I won't turn you away.
[He does offer her his hand - up in greeting rather than a handshake.]
At least tell me your name, young lady. Mine's Dokugakuji - a swordsman for Prince Kougaiji.
[The nostalgia trip is the reason he's falling back on his 'normal' epithet of introduction he was used to up until recently.]

Sakura, Princess of Hoshido. Or Konohanasakuya-hime, G-Goddess of Life. But please, just Sakura will do... It's nice to meet both of you.
( A very rushed hajimemashite to you. )
These tears seem to have some sort of effect on those who come near them. I-I've seen people use holy water and magic to seal them. I don't have much water a-and my magic isn't as effective so if we have to move ahead, we should try to avoid a-as many as possible.
( Handle the ones that are more urgent for now. )

No guarantees of that, though. I've gotta try to get as close as possible to the source of the problem. It's the only way to figure out if that kid on the BBS is right about why this is all happening.
[Because he doesn't intrinsically believe Chikusa, but he also has a Big Problem with all of this happening in the general vicinity of his brother and the nagging feeling that if Add was capable of all of this, then the guy's original interest in Doku's god power wasn't as benign as he'd originally thought.]
