[closed] it's not a nutritional dinner
Who: Chikusa, Ken, and all the people invited to Hakkai's temple
When: October 12
Where: Li Tieugai's temple in the Central District
What: Having recently lost their other god, Ken is sad by yet another loss.... so Chikusa is fixing this with his dog's favorite things: people he likes and copious amounts of meat.
Unless people actually ask, Chikusa.... doesn't exactly tell what time the dinner is actually going to be at. At least he'll probably tell them that Hakkai's temple moved? One would hope.
The temple of Iron Crutch Li doesn't really seem all that impressive upon approaching it, despite being in the Central District. The walled gardens are certainly large and lovely enough, if a little wild, but the building itself is rather plain at its two stories. There's a small sign attached to the front door that simply says 'come in'. Chikusa isn't going to bother answering the door for visitors. It's not like Hakkai locks that thing anyway.
The inside of the temple is about as sparsely decorated as its outside, but, today, the overwhelming smell wafting from the kitchen has overtaken any medicinal smells that might normally be about. It adds a certain warmth to the room.
Until dinner will be served a little later into the night, people are free to do whatever- hang about the gardens, go bother Chikusa in the kitchen, or otherwise find the other residents of the temple. Chikusa won't care to stop anyone, although Hakkai might.
As for dinner? Chikusa is serving so much meat: rabbit stew with olives and rosemary, swordfish, curried chicken, veal marsala, and a more traditional spaghetti served with meatballs. Fortunately, at least there's garlic bread and stuffed mushrooms, so there's something that isn't meat.... And for dessert? Zeppole, cannoli, and an apple ciambella with almond cream.

[It was amazing what one could grow accustomed to. Cuddling up with her crush and four adorable kittens on a daily basis had become the norm. She had no idea how she'd gotten so lucky but she wasn't going to question it. And it was no secret that he loved it as much as she did.] Oh, my mistake. [She's just giggling at that.] You're right. You're very rugged and manly. [But yes, he's definitely her favorite cat.]
You sound entirely too excited about that.
no subject
[He's letting out a very fake over the top put upon sigh.] Well~, I guess I can forgive you just this once. [Marinette's giggle makes him smile and he's closing his eyes peacefully.]
It might be fun to do it once at least.
no subject
[She does her best to look properly apologetic, though there's only so long she can keep a straight face.] You're too kind.
[He really did seem to be looking forward to it.] Maybe. If you can handle it. I'm not as small as I look.
no subject
[He nods.] Aren't I though? I'm absolutely generous and oh so modest. [Though even he can't hold back a laugh this time and he's giggling softly.]
I'm pretty sure I can handle it. [He doesn't think she's that heavy.] I can carry you. I'm almost certain of it.
no subject
[A nod.] Oh yes. And humble.
[And a list of other things that she didn't feel like repeating just now for reasons.] Your confidence is endearing. But if we keep eating like this, I don't think you'll be able to carry me for very long.
no subject
[He nods as if yes this is fact - how dare any one imply otherwise.] I am, aren't I?
Aw, I've endeared myself to you? Does that mean you're going to keep me furever - like the kitties? [He's grinning resting his head against her shoulder.] Then I'd better do it before we eat so much we stay overstuffed huh?
no subject
[He was just so ridiculously Chat-like sometimes, and it makes her giggle.] You are.
[Mari is just shaking her head and smiling up at him.] That's the plan~! [She might've been teasing, but she'd absolutely keep him forever if he let her. And she's reaching up to play with his hair.] That would probably be a good plan.
no subject
[He doesn't understand why exactly she giggled - well aside from the face that he'd been being utterly ridiculous. But that giggle sends a little flicker of warmth through him making him smile.]
Oh? So you have a plan do you? You're plotting a future with me by your side then? [He arches a brow before his eyes fall closed as her fingers slip into his hair. Oh no. She's found his weakness. Petting, hair ruffles, and fluffing up. He's fighting back a soft purr - pressing into her touch.] I'll carry you home tonight if you want.
no subject
I have plans. [He really had no idea.] Absolutely. We're partners, remember? [Despite her lack of solid belief in things like fate or destiny, she knew the two of them were meant to be together.] Is that a problem? [She really can't help but grin up at him as her fingers run through his hair. Why was he so cute?] I can probably still walk. But we'll see!
no subject
You'll have to tell me about them eventually. [It's his job to help her achieve things right? Can't do that without knowing what they're working towards.] I could never forget something like that. [Adrien gives a little shake of his head, smiling.] Of course not. I like the idea. Maybe you can but if you can't I'll carry you home.
no subject
Patience is a virtue~ [But he was right. She's working on it. Kinda.] I'm glad. [Which of course was putting it mildly.] I figured you would. [And she can't help but giggle softly at that.] Well I'm not going to turn down a free piggyback ride.
no subject
Cats are calmed by familiar scents. [He knows this for a fact. At least that's what the internet said and well if it worked for him he's pretty sure it'd work for a kitten or four.] Mmm but I'm curious, Mari. You can't make me wait forever without giving me one te~eny ti~iny hint.
[As if he could possibly forget about her? Did she really think that was even remotely possible? There's a grin tugging at his lips.] Then, I'll carry you home. Don't worry.
no subject
[It wasn't even surprising that he knew so much about cats despite the fact that he'd never had one as far as she knew.] I knew that. It makes sense though. [She'd have to remember to hunt down a couple of plain shirts later.] You're cute, and I promise you won't have to wait forever.
[He really was adorable. And she's just going to grin and nudge him.] Alright! It's gonna be great.
no subject
Finnnne. I guess I can wait a little bit longer. [Then he's peering at her.] Can I at least get a little hint? Do you want to learn to play the piano, too? Teach me how to bake a cake? Throw a party? Go home and crush me at UMS?
Of course it is. I'm doing it. I'll make sure it's awesome.
no subject
I know you can. It'll be fine. [With the way he's reacting one might think he's waiting on some huge life-altering news, and honestly it's adorable.] It's nothing terribly exciting, you know. I just... want you with me. [Not terribly specific, either. But now that he mentioned it...] Yes. All those things. Not all at once, but you know.
I'm looking forward to my awesome piggyback ride!
no subject
Still... [There's that pleading look. Marinette how can you say no to this face? You can't really so then when she tells him his face lights up.] Is that all? Seems kind of silly when I'm already with you? We live together sometimes we even sleep and nap together.
[It's subtle enough that Adrien just doesn't get it but even if it hadn't been he wouldn't have gotten it unless she grabbed his face in her hands and spelled it out for him letter by letter.] We can do all those things, too. I'd love that so much.
[He laughs.] Just tell me when you're ready and I'll let you climb on - but you have to hold on tight.
no subject
[Oh lord, not that look. She's just not going to get sucked in this time. Somehow.] That's not all. [Though really as long as she had him with her, everything else would just fall into place.] You think I'm being silly? But you're right. And I think I sleep better with you.
[She realizes he doesn't quite get it. As frustrating as that is, she's not going to try and spell it out for him just yet.] So would I.
[Mari nods and grins up at him.] I'll do that. You're sweet to worry about me.
no subject
[Yep, that look. Bright green eyes are focused on her then he leans to rest his head atop hers.] Maybe a little. It's kind of silly to want something you already have. I sleep better with you, too. [Less waking up in a panic he can't explain thought he's been doing better at not screaming loud enough to wake her.. he only does it once in a while now.]
Well, I'd hope so!
[Just have a hum.] I wouldn't want to see you hurt.
no subject
[Mari is pretty sure that look is going to be the death of her one day. But today is not that day.] You might be right about that. [Truthfully, that's not all she wants. But it's good enough for now. And it makes her happy to hear that having her nearby helps him sleep better.] I'm glad.
[This is definitely one of those times she wishes she could just tell him the truth and be done with it. Having to stick to vague half-truths is just frustrating.] What about you? What do you see when you think about the future?
[The feeling is absolutely mutual there.] I know. I'm really lucky to have you looking out for me. But I don't want to see you hurt either.
no subject
I know I am. But it's kind of sweet at the same time. [But he's not going anywhere. He's going to always be there for games, for movies, to help her and keep her safe.] Me, too.
The future? I guess that depends on where I am. If I'm back home piecing my life back together - assuming I can't go with you. I did want to and if that's the case maybe we can just stay together - meet your parents stuff like that. We did talk about it.
I know but we'll be okay. I don't think we have to worry about that.
no subject
Yea? [For some reason that makes her ridiculously happy to hear that. Then again, she's heavily biased and not even afraid to admit it.] I'm glad you're glad.
[And maybe asking about his future plans was tempting fate a little, but she's genuinely curious.] We'll just have to find a way to make sure you come back with me. [Not that that would even be a problem...]
We'll be okay as long as we're together.
no subject
I wouldn't lie to you, Mari. [He's just grinning at her.] How could I not be? It's great.
[Adrien's grin becomes a bright sunny smile. He really would like that. There wouldn't be a better place to be.] I'm sure that we can find a way to make that happen. [They'll make it happen he's sure of that. They're both that stubborn.]
Right. [Just this little nod of his head as he tugs her to settle against his side.]
no subject
I know. [That's probably the last thing he'd ever do. And she can't really argue with that logic, so she's just going to shrug and smile.]
We'll absolutely make it happen. [She'll just have to figure out a way to fill him in when the time comes.]
Right! [Mari's more than happy to settle against his side, though her face warms a little and she can feel her cheeks burning.]
no subject
Good. [He knows so when she smiles he just gives a little nod clearly pleased.]
For now we're fine. Let's just enjoy the movie. [He'll carry her home later for now he's content to just be.]
