They Did The Mash
Who: Hak, Ryoma, and YOU
When: November 1st & 2nd
Where: Ler's Temple
What: Who wants a stupid masquerade party? You want a haunted house. WITH CAKE.
Introduction
[A few days before the Haunted House was ready, and he saw the poster for Hibiki's event, he knew he had to match up. Even with not really a creative bone in his body, sorry about that. Instead, he got a simple posted made up in spooky writing;
Come See The Haunted House
Get Your Scares and Spooks
November 1st - 4 PM
Candy and Cakes for everyone!
He's not proud of it, no, but it should work. With the cakes and the candy promised, he's bound to get some people. Even if they are just there for the sweets.
Ler's Temple is more of a small town than an actual temple, so to speak. The entire place is done up with lots of pumpkins, both a mix of carved jack-o-lanterns and regular pumpkins of all varieties. Hey, he went all out here. Most of the houses are dark and mysterious, but there is one near the front that's filled with light. Most other places are blocked off by one thing or another, so there are a total of four houses to visit.]
Food
[The one filled with light is the one where all the cakes and candy are. There are bowls filled with the stuff, chocolate, gummies, and other varieties. If you like it, he's definitely got it filled up. As for the cakes, some look better than others. There are a few off to the side that do not look nice, but they probably taste fine.
Then there are ones that are on plastic platters and are definitely store bought. These are the good ones. And the ones that are more likely to be gone by the end of the evening. Hey, Hak did his best. There also doesn't seem to be anyone watching, minus a skeleton hanging on the wall.
If sweets and cake are not your thing, that's mostly too bad. But there is water nearby if you need to drink it. Besides that, there are a few choice houses to visit.]
House #1
[The one right beside the lit house is the first house on the docket. It's dark inside of here, minus the light coming in from outside. There's no real door, so it's quite easy to enter. With it's small size, it's not too hard to get through. Slowly walk through it with your hands out and feel what's going on. Does that feel like bones? Try not to think about it too much. There is one light up on a table that is able to be picked up and waved over.
On that table is a variety of fake body parts. They definitely look and feel fake as fingers go over them and there's nothing else really to this place. Minus all the hanging skeletons that seem to be jangling about. And when the wind blows through, they make a nice calming sound. Or haunting sound if you're too far into the house.]
House #2
[This house is marked with Kija - Do Not Enter on it. It's meant to be a safety net because in this house, it's full of even more cobwebs and fake bugs floating around. Some are on the walls, some are on the ground, and some are even hanging on strings. As if it meant to be a real honest scare, when someone gets through far enough and walks into one of the tight strings that's on the ground, two things happen.
One; Lights turn on and fill the house.
Two; a giant, fake adorable spider drops down in front of the person, wiggling and jiggling all through the air. Certainly cute if seen from a distance, but meant to be spooky if someone wasn't expecting it.
The whole thing is rather weird when looked at with the lights on. Thankfully, they all turn off rather quickly too.]
House #3
[The final house is the scariest one of all. This is where all his fake blood came into play. There's some on the walls, some on the floor, and some even on the tables where people might feel to go through the place. There's also an obvious figure at the far back near a small light. Depending on when in the night, it'll either be a man with long hair and a sword or a man with short hair and a pole arm.
And if you touch them, in the dark, they'll immediately move in and attempt to do a false attack. Thankfully neither weapon is really sharp and if they hit someone, it won't do anything to them, except maybe give them a scare.
These people may also be resting in the lit up house between breaks. Might not be able to fully recognize them, but they are there. And feel free to give them a piece of your mind.]
Clean-Up - November 2nd
[With the event done, it's really time for clean up, which gets started immediately the next morning. He pulls in Ryoma, and anyone who is still around from all the events, maybe passed out, to help clean up.
There's a lot to get rid of, and in the light, the work that Hak has done is definitely being shown off much better. That just means, however, there's a lot more to clean up and clean off. Any guests who stop by to help clean or even for a hello will be forced to take home candy and cake. Except for a special box.
Don't ask about the box. Don't you dare.]

[Ryoma feels obligated to help with hosting--Hak is his god-partner-thing and the one throwing this whole
fiascocelebration, so Ryoma feels like he needs to help the man make a good impression. He also has this strange, deep-seated urge to Stand Up and Do the Polite Thing and be a gracious host, so despite his... misgivings about whatever the hell this whole party was supposed to be for in the first placeother obligation, Ryoma is still around every now and then to talk, welcome people, and replenish the party supplies. He's dressed for the occasion? in a simple black robe, his white hakama underneath. Pay no mind to the, er. Decoration.A few suspicious red stains never hurt anybody, right?
He may also, on occasion, be caught snacking on the ugly cakes to both prove that they're perfectly edible, just a little... unconventional. The unrelenting shinki hunger pangs are to be blamed for that, honest.]
[Ryoma is very, very good at a number of things--too many things, if certain younger siblings that he doesn't quite remember are to be believed--and one of the things that Ryoma is very, very good at is sitting very, very still. He is a statue sitting seiza at the back of the third spooky house, a borrowed sword hanging innocently at his hip.
As promised, Ryoma sits very still, unblinking--and further as promised, the moment someone brushes him in the darkness he lunges far too quickly, swinging the fake sword to startle and frighten the visitors of the house. He does try his best to pull his swing, however--he'd rather not hit people, if given a choice. He promised Hak he'd give it an honest go, though, so expect to be chased if you don't take the hint the first time.]
[What goes up must come down. Ryoma is as dutiful as ever, helping throw away expendable decorations, boxing up the sturdier pieces, and scrubbing fake blood off of the surfaces it'd found a home on. His hair is, once again, pulled back, though he's changed the vaguely traditional get-up for something a lot more modern--jeans and a sweatshirt, of all things.
He's all over the place helping clean and trying not to feel like indentured labor, helping package up candy and cake to go, haul decorations to one of designated temple rooms, and fastidiously ignoring the box. Ryoma doesn't know what's in the box, nor does he want to. Don't put him in that position.]
House 3! >.> Of course. this is the best way to meet.
Creatively splattered in a very realistic sense and she's trying very hard not to focus on that because otherwise she might really scream and run out of this room.
Of course, that's exactly how she ends up backing into the shinki lurking in the room and.... that's not a wall. She freezes, her back to him, eyes wide before she slowly turns to glance over her shoulder to find out what she'd just collided with, heart pounding. ]
it's toootally fine
And then he didn't.
His hand twitches on his borrowed, blunted sword, thumb pushing the blade up from its hilt with a heavy scrape as his eyes open to narrowed slivers--his face is tacky with fake blood, and his expression remains too calm, too still.
Probably murderous, in the low light, if you squint and are a big ol' scaredy cat. That is fake blood on his face, isn't it? ]

[ He doesn't see a shinki brand... ]
My name is Yoon. Are you a friend of Hak's?

Ah, no. I'm one of the... attractions.
[ He's still hoping the fake blood will wash out of his pants, to be frank. His poor white hakama... ]
I'm Ryoma. I'm Hak's shinki, for whatever that means.

[ The lights are on when Elfnein goes through and it's not really scary. In fact Elfnein is quite impressed with how cute some of these "scary" decorations are. ]
This is fun, I thought Halloween would be scary instead.
Food
[ The plate Elfnein has is filled with different sweets, all containing more sugar then one person should have in a sitting. ]
House 2
Hearing the girl's comment, she turns, still holding the large spider and wiggles it at her with a grin. ]

OTA
[ Yona hadn't been all that certain about what to expect here, but since Hak was going all out for this, of course she was going to show up. Even if she's not so certain about all the 'spooky' and 'scary' themes apparently associated with this festival.
But upon arriving she'd first seek out the night's host and - if she can't find him right off - start poking her way through the haunted houses he'd set up.
The spider dropping on her head definitely gets a startled squeak out of her, if anyone is within hearing distance, and she really hopes Kija doesn't wander in here, no matter how adorable it may be.
Having survived the 'Scare Tour' through Hak's temple, she can later be found sampling some of the candies and cakes - and even bravely attempting Hak's attempt at baking. Which might just be the scariest thing about this whole night. ]
B. Clean-Up
[ She, of course, sticks around to help him clean up the next day, even if she might have dozed off somewhere during the night, despite her best intentions. But she comes at the task with fresh energy and a determined demeanor, rolling up her sleeves and tackling the task with the same intent that she does most things.
Of course, while helping to clean up the leftover snacks and things, she finds... Yeah, you practically dared her to, this is what you get. ]
Hak? What's in the box?
[ She might be poking at it curiously. ]

[Mirei does not find Halloween particularly scary, but she has an image to keep up. So, after sampling the various candies, she heads out to the haunted houses. The first house is mostly just dark, but Mirei screams a few times when things brush against her face or shoulders, in case there's anyone in there with her. The second--
[There is a difference, Mirei feels, between being startled and genuinely being scared. Of course she starts when the lights snap on and something falls against her face - starts and stares at it and (real terror isn't appealing) gives a small, surprised squeak.
[Rather like the other girl, the redhead. When did she walk in? Mirei blinks, and then she smiles.]
Aah, that was scary, pri! I wasn't expecting it to be so cute, though...
[In the light? This spider is cute. It's hard to be scary when you're that cute.]

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa [1/3]
[There is a sign on the door saying Kija - Do Not Enter. A courtesy, one presumes.
[Kija runs blindly straight past it because he knows that voice - it is the Princess, and she is afraid, and he would be no kind of guardian at all if he allowed a mere sign to keep him from her side. Charging headlong into danger
like an idiotit is!][2/3]

[Plan A: RUN AWAY no wait there are still bugs
[Plan B: stand still stand very still do not even breathe maybe they will not notice you why did he not think to bring a stick
[And yet he knows he cannot go anywhere. The Princess is in here! Further in here, alone, and surrounded by bugs. He cannot leave her to face that alone. No matter how afraid he is, how badly his skin crawls, no matter how many bugs there are (and he wants to rip his skin off and there are bugs everywhere aaaaaaaa), he has to stand firm. He has to find her, and bring her to safety. Hakuryuu would expect no less--
[why bugs though
[--he must, and he will. Kija steels himself. He takes a breath.]
Princess?
[He really hopes she heard that.

[ It would be practical, even sensible, to send a spygoat instead of attending this party in person. Hibiki has her own party starting shortly, after all, and a host must never abandon their guests.
But bearing personal witness to her competition is her aesthetic. She will not compromise or sacrifice when it comes to such matters!
So Hibiki shows up before her party is scheduled to begin, to sample the. Ah. Frights. She's going to do this whole party and you cannot stop her. Then she will understand the competition. ]
Darkness is more depressing than frightening.
[ The table where she may find a light is here, correct? Yet there is almost certain to be some trick. Hibiki stares into the darkness, focusing. If she puts her abilities to draw the number 1 to herself in games of chance to use here....she should be able to detect....the flashlight....
She is still focusing when someone moves forward and picks something up before she can. ] What?!
[ House #2 ]
"Kija"?
[ Hibiki frowns. This is...concerning. ] Is this house unsafe for celebrities?
[ But. But. But. Her aesthetic. Hibiki sniffs, then opens the door. ] Well, I'm a celebrity among celebrities. No need for concern....
[ House #3 ]
[ Hibiki is distracted when she approaches the spot where the live person lies in wait. She'd gotten some sort of....sticky substance on her hand, and she needs to clean it off.....
Here she comes. Completely unawares. ]

[Izumo is really here out of some sort of obligation. Sort of. He helped Hak and Hak is Yona's friend. Plus, he knows him more than Apollo, so this isn't really any sort of surprise. Loyalty is strong, even if he barely knows Hak otherwise.
Naturally, he checks out the haunted houses. Or he gets dragged into one.
