What: Fushimi remembered his birthday is on November 7th. He told Yata.

[Fushimi actually went to sleep at a decent hour, so he's sprawled over their bed sound asleep when the sun is rising instead of grumbling about only getting two hours of sleep that night before the sun rose.]

General Shenans

[So after getting his "present" (a cat, really Misaki?) from his over-excited boyfriend (who also got himself a cat because Misaki is weak), Fushimi really doesn't know what to expect for the rest of the day.

What to expect is, apparently, pizza, games, and people he vaguely knows being invited to come over? What the fuck is this?

Still, Fushimi is going to be nice and be social for a few hours so Misaki doesn't sulk at him. Poke the birthday boy, poke people coming to poke the birthday boy, Chikusa you are not invited, Judar stop threatening the cats.]

[ Look, he was fine with not threatening the cat until it started kneading onto him. There are places that is not for, and definitely not meant for cats to be around. Then it bit him! (Judar, it barely nibbled while being affectionate.) Still, even he can try to behave on something that's meant to be a birthday party. Not that he was the most familiar with the concept, but hey, whatever. Food and shit.

He may have even forgotten to take his glasses off today.

Sorry guests, who had hoped to never run into this jerk. Except he's not particularly going out of his way to be one. Not unless you count purposefully attacking everyone but Fushimi, and helping/letting him win at Smash Bros. While new to this concept of video games, he's pretty good at catching up, and has had a few weeks to do just that.

Just don't go by his room. Even if it's hard to find the bed under all the books, notebooks and sketch pads, and various loose papers around. ]


Post Shenans

[ When people have either returned to their temples or decided to crash in one of the guest rooms, leaving just temple residents in the same room, Judar finally relaxes with one of the ales they had.

Not that he wasn't relaxed before, but there's a lower energy kind when it's just the people that live around here. Even if it's still not at the casual or familial level the other three have with each other. ]

I guess birthdays aren't so bad... So, who's is the next one, and when?

[ Not that he knows when you people figured them out, or decided them. ]

Don't know. I just know Misaki said his was in summer.

[ Summer is so far away, and Izumo's could be at any time of the year. ]

Well, whatever. The only difference between today and the other weekend was that more people showed up and you got stuff.

Doubt it. I'd rather remember some incredibly dangerous and deadly spell.

[ Also, it's not like anything would come of it. He doesn't exactly have the personality that would lead to good birthday memories. ]

Closed to Saru
[ Considering they'd fallen asleep mostly together, Yata's pretty relieved Saru got a full night of sleep in. But that doesn't mean that he's not still all but bouncing in excitement as he busies himself around the apartment that morning.

When he has everything together, just like he planned, he slips in with a tray of breakfast - western food, since Saru often requested that, after having lived with Roy for a while and having gotten used to it. There's scrambled eggs and bacon and coffee and orange juice and a muffin all laid out for him as he carries it over to the bed beside where Saru still sleeps. A card in a red envelope is propped up against the glass of orange juice.

Then he reaches out to lightly poke at Saru's shoulder as he sets it down, grinning in anticipation. ]

Yo. Wake up, sleepyhead.

[ He'd honestly half expected the smell of food and coffee to wake him up by now. ]

Party Shenanigans.
[ The afternoon is spent chilling with anyone who wandered over to hang out, although mostly making sure Saru still manages to mostly enjoy himself on his birthday. There are matches of Mario Kart and Smash Brothers and a few other games they hook up on the console in the living room of Izumo's temple. There is a literal mountain of pizza for everyone (shinki eat a lot, yo) and there's even a few movies tossed on the screen later in the day while people are winding down.

Yata's sort of in the middle of it - even if he's not technically playing host, he still wants to make sure people have fun. Also, Saru (and maybe Judar, too?) getting to meet new people is probably good for everyone here. Not that he knows many people himself, but that's not the point here. Either way, he's determined that everyone has fun and does his best to make sure they do. ]

[Misaki is not a child shut up.]

Doesn't mean you won't remember it. This place is fucked up, remember?

[When he gets sleep, he gets sleep. It takes Misaki poking him and talking to him to even get him to stir and then it's still another few seconds before he reaches for his glasses and opens his eyes.

And stares.]

Misaki, what the fuck...?

[ He's the biggest man-child in the temple. He accidentally picked up one of Judar's magazines and freaked the fuck out. ]

Do I strike you as someone that'd have some nice memory of their birthday come up? Here I thought you were smart.

[ Yata just grins at him as he blinks up at him sleepily. ]

[He sits up, stretching.]

[ Yata hums from where he's sprawled on the ground, feet kicked in the air as he plays a game on one of his little handheld devices. ]

Dunno. I missed mine because I didn't know it yet. I don't know when Izumo's is, but he probably does, since he's got everything back now.

[ He pauses, glancing over his shoulder at Judar curiously a moment. ] No idea when yours is yet?

[ It was a fashion magazine, and it's Yata. ]

Wouldn't be able to tell. I had to learn the calendar after arriving here, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist.

[ Not on this world's system. ]

Oh. Huh.

[Weird.]

Do you remember anything about your world?

Well, at least you sound surprised. [ Yata just snickers at this, and then sets the tray carefully over Saru's lap when he sits up and stretches. ] I figured since it's your first birthday here, we might as well start it off with a bang.

....Not a literal bang. We'll save that part for later.

[ And then he realizes how that sounded and turns red. ]

Uh. Just forget I said any of that past 'Happy Birthday, Saru', okay?

So it'd either be yours or Izumo's.

[ He pauses in thought, only to finish drinking the bottle he'd opened up. ]

Nope. Pretty sure it wouldn't mean anything, even if I did.

[ That sounds really 'emo' (not that Judar knows what that means,) but he meant it in a very practical way. ]

[He laughs and scoots over so Misaki can sit next to him, actually smiling.]

No. You said it. I'm not forgetting it.

[ Yata rolls over on his back and tucks his hands behind his head to peer up at Judar. ]

I didn't mean it like that and you know it!

[ He huffs out the protest but that is not making him any less red right now. ]

Nothing at all. Everything I figured out is based on what I had to learn or found strange here.

[ So he used logic, and he could say that he wasn't dumb, because it wasn't so hard to solve more advanced maths. ]

I had to learn the calendar here, same as I did with the technology, and the whole thing with there being several languages is kinda weird to me. Which makes me the weird one, so take that whichever way you want.

Because I don't know shit about the holidays in this world and I had to learn what the months and days were after arriving.

[ That's kind of what happens when you're not from a Gregorian calendar system. Either because it was a different setting or you're from before that. ]
