Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the rear of the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

Once they've had a chance to have things explained, they'll have the chance (veterans and new arrivals alike) to go spend the rest of the day in a very magical place...!




Meeting Hall

God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a much nicer room than the warehouse where the last set of new gods got their informational speech. It's a smaller meeting room, with tatami floors and a small dais at the front of the room where the speaker stands. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter.

The speaker is a few minutes late, and looks rushed and a bit stressed, but delivers her speech with the intonation of someone who's practiced it many times. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out old "From Ama" magazines with articles describing the Heavens, profiling important gods, and interviewing successful shinki. They will be happy to answer any questions or instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline. They also accompany their answers, or lessons, with an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

The dojo doesn't seem quite prepared for everyone's arrival; the usual weapons are nowhere to be seen, the animated targets are missing, and there aren't even any standard paper or straw targets for newcomers to train with. The space is still available, though, in case any gods want to transform and practice working with their new shinki.

Capypa Land

Rides and Refreshments

Capypa Land is a theme park filled with roller coasters, themed rides, movies, costumed mascot characters dressed as Capypa and plenty of opportunities for photographs, souvenirs and sightseeing! Restaurants and snack stands throughout the park mean lots of places to relax and grab lunch, and there's even a winter illumination -- thousands of lights twinkle to life on trees and buildings around the park after night falls.

(Think Disneyland, themed on cartoon capybara instead of cartoon mice.)

Rather than put together a reception at the Meeting Hall, today, the white-robed heavenly shinki are offering new arrivals tickets to Capypa Land and guiding them to the park entrance. Newcomers can relax, enjoy themselves and get to know their new gods or shinki in a family-friendly environment. Any more experienced gods or shinki who volunteer to help with the training can claim one of the Capypa Land tickets for themselves, too. Buy yourself a Capypa ear headband, mingle with the Friday crowds, have your picture taken with a mascot, and don't forget to stay for the dinnertime parade and fireworks!

The Happiest Place on Earth?

Capypa Land is a theme park in the Near Shore, so it's not quite as safe from ayakashi as the Heavens. Can anyone be sad in such a happy place? Well... stressed families, long lines, angry customers and bad dates produce enough negative emotion to attract occasional ayakashi. Make sure to keep an eye out for malicious spirits, from tiny little insects buzzing around and raising family tension to bigger boogeymen created by childhood fears.

On the other hand, maybe this is an opportunity! Why not lend a hand and practice your teamwork by rending a few of those ayakashi? With so many gods and shinki at the park for the day, all those troublesome spirits can be exorcised to make sure the park visitors have a truly magical time.

[ It's okay, Aymeric, she happens to be an expert at sweets. Although you may be sorry about that...

For now, though, she just beams up at him, even happier now when she learns she can introduce him to something he's never gotten to try before. ]

[Oh right, she has no idea about his candy stash or the fact that he can down large sugar filled drinks like it was nothing. But cotton candy is a new one and doesn't mind trying.]

I do not mind sweet things at all. It is good to try new things, even if we do not know anything of it to start.

[ She reaches out to take his hand with a bright smile, giving it a light tug towards the food stand. ]

Let's try some, then! It's really neat. It's made out of sugar, but it's real thin, like they made thread with it!

[He will let her guide him along as he sees how large the candy thread is up close and...wow, those are massive. He gestures to the seller to give them two and pays without issue, handing one to her.]

I can see the idea of thread being used...it looks rather soft...

It is really soft! [ she beams up at him when he hands her a cotton candy all her own. ] And it melts against your tongue when you put it in your mouth! Try it, Aymeric!

[How much trouble is he going to be in by giving her pure sugar fluff?]

Hmm, if you say so.

[Pulling off a small piece, he pops it into his mouth and closes. He doesn't even need to chew because Nanako was right; it did melt rather quick.]

Tis different from what I am used to...quite intriguing...

[This is weird and good at the same time!]

[ She watches him with wide, hopeful eyes, taking a little bite herself in the meantime. ]

It is delicious and light at the same time. So this must be why their sizes are vast...

Yeah! It goes all melty really fast so I bet that's why they give you more of it! [ She giggles and happily munches on another bite. ] but it can turn your lips and tongue all kinds of colors too, when you eat it, so be careful!

[Well, rainbow colored cotton candy here so more than likely his lips and tongue will look like a unicorn kissed him.]

Then it is good that there is no sign of rain; twould be a shame to lose it all. But since we are here, why don't we explore the grounds together?

She's sure a unicorn would find him very kissable.

[ Nanako's expression brightens at his offer and she's quick to nod her head in agreement. ]

A place like this? I can say that I have not; there was no time for me to relax before so I unfortunately missed out on fun things.
