Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the rear of the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

Once they've had a chance to have things explained, they'll have the chance (veterans and new arrivals alike) to go spend the rest of the day in a very magical place...!

Shinki Training

Oi, what the hell.

[Her face is utterly expressionless and her body utterly motionless and these are bad signs, as she looks from the shinki who'd so helpfully explained her new situation and all the duties and responsibilities that came with it, down to the magazine in her hands with all the information in its glossy pages.]

This is the world's biggest crock! [A sharp tug rips the magazine clean in two, and she tosses both halves down to step on them hard and purposefully.] Now you listen here, you arrogant bloody bastards -- I'm not your plaything, or your tool, or your toy, or whatever the hell this nonsense is all about. Get it? So you can just run along home now and leave me be!

[Grinding the pages into the floor with her heal, Nia turns to stalk off.]

Rides and Refreshments

[So here's Nia -- cotton candy in one hand, an ear headband jammed on over her actual ears in a manner that doesn't look pleasant, staggering out of the line to see some overgrown capybara costume that was probably murder on the poor bastard within it.]

How did I get sucked into this? What the hell is this place anyway? It's like half fairy tale and half industrial hellhole, buried together under a pile of Titan droppings!

The Happiest Place on Alrest?

[On this side: a boogeyman ayakashi, half out of an alleyway, the eye on its long and snakelike tongue regarding Nia unblinkingly as its footlong claws cling to the walls on either side of it.]

[On the other: Nia, armed with a trash can.]

I don't know what you think you are, but you messed with the wrong Driver today! I'll bash you up so bad you'll spend the rest of your days being glad I didn't have a proper weapon!

[Nia lunges at the beast, swinging the can wildly.]

[A. Shinki Training]

[Jae-ha looks....far from impressed.

He just raises an eyebrow.]

This is supposed to be a welcoming party?

[B. Capypa Land]

[THIS IS AMAZING.

Jae-ha can't help but be amazed by the sight of it all. Everything is just full of something new he's never seen before and who cares if he's just gotten here--he is going to explore and enjoy himself damn it. Especially since his arrival in the heavens was such a let down.

It really isn't surprising if he manages to get his goddess to join him on some rides.

Or if he's somehow managing to get you to go on a ride or even trying some foods.]

[C. Ayakashi Rending?]

These are ayakashi?

Shinki Training

[Tori is none too pleased with the setup here. It just seems so much cheaper than it ought to be, to his mind, and that's making him pout with distaste. He also doesn't seem to be interested in practicing anything or learning from the pamphlets. And he keeps turning his nose up at anyone who approaches him with a very loud:]

Rides

[Getting to go to a theme park makes everything better though! Tori is very quick to get into line for every large ride he can get to, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he waits - albeit a little impatiently.]

Ehhhhhhhhhhh~? Can't this line move any fasterrrrr??

[He might be starting to get grumpy.]

Entertainment

[Somewhere along the way, Tori has gotten his hands on a pair of Capypa ears and is wearing them completely unironically. In fact, he keeps going up to the mascot characters and demanding pictures with them. He makes sure to strike the cutest poses he can for every picture~

And he has also started dancing along with a couple of the mascots - because the dance is easy to pick up and he naturally wants to be the center of attention.

So you might catch him getting pictures, dancing, or right after being applauded by the crowd - your choice!]

Happiest Place

[The only thing ruining this experience for him are the CREEPY MONSTERS that keep peeking around people and waddling by. Every time he sees one, Tori yelps and hides behind the nearest person, often grabbing onto the them to forcefully put them between him and the scary things--

And that person just might be you!]

God Training

[It was around the time where newcomers would come in and while the man has rested enough (not enough let's be real), he wanted to be there for this assignment. It would be easy: spot any new gods and give the information that the hurried god on stage did not. Poor woman, she must be having a rough day. Aymeric himself makes sure he looks presentable and not someone who has been stabbed and nearly sucked dry of energy from crazy ass trees, carrying a satchel of pamphlets and bows to anyone who comes to see him.]

Well met and Welcome. If you need any questions answered that was not covered, I may be able to help.

[And anyone, new or old, may notice a black haired woman peeking around a corner with a flat stare. Does she seem annoyed or assumes that she cannot be spotted?]

Ah, do not mind Sukomi. She is one of my partners and only wishes for my safety...and does not realize that I know she is there.

Amusement Park?

[Aymeric has to wonder if this is part of the Heavens trying to apologize for their late reaction to rescuing them in the forest. However, there was no need to ask for he had a thought to let his young charge go out and have fun after being stuck in bed for days. Believe him, Aymeric knows too well. Naturally, Sukomi wanted her god to rest but he had convinced her that the trip was something she also needed. After all, breaks were good for everyone, even soulless shinki.

So while the kids were enjoying themselves, the elezen kept watch over them since he wasn't sure how some rides would handle a recently stabbed person. But that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the games or food. Like the very large cotton candy drink that made even the cashier go wide eyed at the suggestion.

What can we say? Aymeric has a rather large sweet tooth.]

[A: Physical Training]

[To the surprise of...probably nobody, Shun is having absolutely none of this amusement park business today. Unfortunately, the clear lack of preparation of the space means he's also somewhat limited in what he can do here.

The apparent solution: making his own target. There's two distinctly partially decayed-looking chunks of old tree trunk, one sitting vertically on the other with a target pattern etched into it with a knife. It's not the kind of target that lends itself to a wide variety of practice methods, but it's fine for what Shun needs, which is flicking several plain metal, spear-like throwing knives firmly into it. It's pretty clear he has extensive practice aiming projectiles from how he moves his wrist, and now that he's gotten pointers from a couple of people on how specifically to balance knives, he's been able to apply that experience much more readily to using them.

Maybe avoid the path to the target on the bullseye, because there's already a small cluster of knives sunken into it, and Shun's readying another.

Alternately, it's possible to also find Shun just using the training space for drills, repetitive punches or acrobatic training. The less people here, the more space he has for himself.]

[B: Questionable Ideas]

[One single thing has managed to get Shun to the amusement park...technically speaking. Overhearing the attendant shinki murmuring about ayakashi stalking kids was enough for him to decide to wrap up his training, find Kotori, and keep to the quiet behind-the-scenes areas of this ridiculous park to hunt some of them down. There's a lot of things that don't fly with Shun, and harming innocent kids is somewhere right near the top of that list.

It's not exactly quiet work, though - honestly, it's probably a good thing normal humans don't really notice gods, shinki, or ayakashi, considering the horrific screech one of the boogeyman ayakashi lets out when Shun slams his blade into its back and drags it down, ripping a huge, faintly glowing wound into it. He doesn't waste time following up, swinging the war hammer that is Kotori's vessel form in that very precise way he tends to with her, sending a bright flash of light out from behind one of the supposed "haunted house" rides.

Watching the ayakashi disintegrate, Shun turns his head to one side and spits derisively through his teeth.]

Good riddance.

i. [shinki training]

[ Hak meant well, of course; in the back of his mind, Ryoma knew that his god, his--associate? Friend?--was only looking out for him in the grand scheme of things. The… events of the forest hadn’t been easy on many people, Ryoma among them. While not severely injured, he had earned more than a few cuts and bruises, and healing had been… well, healing.

At the same time, if Ryoma had stayed cooped up in the temple for another day of staring at books without really reading and counting tile until his brain went numb, he was absolutely going to scream like the hot-tempered shonen protagonist that he was, deep under his stately veneer. There had been a bit of an argument, some stubborn volleys of frowning and terse grumbling--and ultimately, Ryoma had been allowed out of his rest to go do stuff and things… with a few limitations.

He’s currently making for a rather handsome decoration, dressed like a normal person for once as the armor was a bit much, given its weight and, well, the fact that they weren’t actively hitting a battlefield. Probably. He’s up and down in almost lazy intervals, occasionally helping with the demonstration of creating a borderline--but he promised Hak he’d take it easy. So he’s only doing it occasionally. And when Hak’s not looking.

Look, Ryoma’s a doer. Sitting idle goes against every fibre of his being--what’s a few bandages and healing wounds going to do to him, hey? The worst he can get is… more injured… but that’s not going to happen! Probably. ]

ii. [~~rides and~~ refreshment]

[ Joining the themepark trip comes with its own caveats, of course. No rides, sit down the moment he feels strained or tired, and no rides... not that Ryoma was going to ride anything anyway, because have you lost your mind? He doesn’t like cars, or escalators, or golfcarts. Rollercoasters are above and beyond the pale of fool ideas--and he’s got plenty of opinions on the whole concept of thrill rides that he’ll express in a lot of suspicious frowning.

A circle of chairs that goes up a great height and drops? Spinning in circles in an oversized cup? Strange men with their faces obscured behind the grim visage of whatever in the world a capybara was supposed to be? No thank you.

Ryoma will be very busy people-watching and sampling Capypa Land’s dearth of food and drinks. He’s lowkey delighted by the concept of portable tea mugs, and will happily sit and watch when the evening’s light display starts. He will also be very busy power-walking away from anything in a mascot suit, because no.

iii. [wildcard]

[ twenty dollars to the first person who sticks him in a headband with ears. any other scenario you’d like goes here! ]

[ She'd felt the awareness of a new connection tugging at the edge of her senses when she'd woken up this morning. Although there was little more than that, she's been here long enough now to recognize that feeling. To know what it meant.

So, bright and early, she's getting herself ready and heads down to greet some of the new gods and shinki, her eyes searching for anyone who stands out, wondering who they've given her a link to this time. While an early pass through the shinki's training room doesn't have anyone especially standing out, a second peek in the doorway is just in time to hear a familiar voice speak from nearby.

She freezes, her breath catching in her throat at the familiarity of it, and she takes a moment, her heart falling, as she struggles to compose herself, fingers clutched tight against her chest in a white-knuckled grip.

Although there's no sign of her distress behind the sunny smile she dons as she steps into the dojo, her gaze fixed on Jae-Ha's familiar form. Instead, she folds her hands in front of her so she can greet him warmly, a hint of laughter in her gaze at his skeptical complaint. ]

They do seem to have skipped a few steps this time around. But I think they have something planned for afterwards?

[ People had certainly seemed excited outside over something, although she hadn't stopped to investigate herself just yet. ]

I apologize for the lack in celebration. I'll have to make it up to you, I'm afraid.

i. [god training]

[ To put it politely, Wrathion does not care for the concept of being forced into a role at someone else’s whim.

To put it bluntly, there’s definitely a tree at Ogun’s temple ground that spent its last day of (un?)life on fire as a result of a draconic temper tantrum. Did trees go to a further tree heaven when burnt, or were they lost to nothingness if they were destroyed in heaven? Wrathion didn’t particularly care. He was not going to be someone else’s tool... not for long, at least. They could think he was happy to join the cause, as it were.

He’d have his own way in time. He always did.

For now, he listens dutifully to the presented speeches, filing information away for later, and the concept of shinki are comforting to a degree, at least. Wrathion likes an underling; life is so much easier with a network of spies, rogues, and assassins… and with a bit of careful planning, he’ll be right back to that as soon as possible, right? Right. All he has to do is bide his time and work with the hand he’s pulled from Fate’s fickle deck. ]

ii. [rides and refreshment]

[ What is this nonsense.

After all of that… that buildup, the stress of how important it was for so-called gods to take charge and to act in the name of righteous justice, their first act was to be a poor man’s Darkmoon Faire?

(... truth be told, Capypa Land is a rich man’s Darkmoon Faire, because the Darkmoon Faire is a pile of health code violations, rigged carnival games, dubious food, and barely hidden dangers, but Wrathion’s never actually been to the Faire. He was too busy trying to save the world and manipulate the world’s greatest military forces against each other, thank you very much. )

For being the happiest place on this mortal earth, Wrathion seems determined to be a big ol’ sourpuss, his shinki far too agreeable to tell him to lighten up and change his hat for one with more… local flavor. ]

This is absolutely ridiculous. Is this supposed to be an elaborate joke? A test?

[ He’s ranting to a rather droll looking shinki, who seems disinclined to try and tip his show of temper one way or another. He’s not dumb. He saw what happened to the tree. ]

iii. [wildcard]

[ small dragon had fun once, hated every second of it. any other scenario you’d like goes here! ]

A. God/Shinki Training
[ Yona shows up bright and early today to Training, even though she had no intention of doing any actual work at it - she's fairly certain Yoon might never have let her out of the Temple if she had. She's still looking a little pale and tired from her captivity within the forest, but she's also looking focused, determined to be here regardless of her still-weakened state.

And while she's not here to do any actual training, she does spend a lot of time watching the new arrivals get escorted around, her gaze intent and patient as she searches through them, as if watching for something - or someone - in particular. She does eventually find a seat under a nearby tree to keep her watch, although every so often she gets up to peek into the Shinki Training Area, only to return and wait a little longer. ]

B. Capypa Land
[ Yona has never even heard of this place - or anything like it, for that matter. While several of her friends have been helping to introduce her to modern day adventures in her time here, this... this reaches all new heights of modern strangeness.

But it does look fun, and Yona wanders into the park with wide, delighted eyes, trying to take in everything at once.

It doesn't take her long to discover this place is even more fun than the festivals and street fairs back home. She's quick to try out a variety of park foods if people point them out, is delighted when someone drops one of the Capypa ear headband atop her head and even leaves it there the entire day. She wanders around with friends, occasionally picking out a souvenir or two for her friends.

The mascots wandering the park are a little unnerving for her, although she might be coaxed into souvenir photographs around the park if one of her friends shows up and is particularly persuasive. The rides, too, get a lot of skeptical looks - especially the ones that make people scream so much, but she has to admit she's a little curious about what all the fuss is about.

And should she come across any ayakashi seeking to ruin the day for anyone, she'll be quick to step in, despite the fact that she's still supposed to be resting. But she's still a stubborn goddess, and she doesn't want anything to ruin today for anyone else.

But by far, Yona's favorite part of the day is when the sun sets and darkness falls and the entire park is lit up with tiny lights that make it look completely magical. Even though she'd been getting worn out, she completely forgets her exhaustion as she wanders down through the park in awe, taking it all in with childish delight. The parade is viewed with equal delight and the fireworks overhead keep her captivated, although by that time, she's found a quiet place to sit where she can still watch them and rest at the same time.

Despite the uncertain start to her morning, it turns out to be a wonderful day and she's reluctant to let it end... ]

[ While Nanako hadn't really hung around for much Training, she had heard about the Amusement Park trip and immediately zoomed in that direction - whoever was within reach in tow, whether it was her poor shinki or the nearest sorta-adult-friend.

Immediately turning into an excited, hyper seven-year-old ~~on a sugar-high~~, the tiny goddess is determined to try everything. An Amusement Park trip is a treat, even for her, and while she's never heard of this place before, that doesn't seem to matter as she wanders around taking in everything with wide eyes. Also, it's no surprise to see her in one of the furry-eared headbands and hugging a large Capypa plush toy that's half as big as she is. Someone obviously won her one of the ones dangling from many of the game stalls.

Spotting a familiar figure nearby, she dashes over to latch onto a hand, tugging lightly. ]

Hi! Can we try that? Will you help me?

[ Whether it's a food stand, a souvenir booth, or one of the many Capypa-themed rides is up to you, but you now have a Tiny decked out in Capypa-ears looking up at you hopefully.

At least she's waiting for adult supervision today? ]

[It certainly did not help that the mascot suited person thought the spikey haired man needed cheering up and tried to follow. Keyword: 'Tried'. Mainly because between them both, a few carts decided to roll on by. It was enough to distract the other and he chased after the runaway property but how did they get loose? Thank the god with metal manipulation who decided to mess with the lock holding them in place.

It'll be fine, they won't run him over.]

I suppose this is also your first time in a place such as this?

[And it's that weirdo who had that weird pink drink and explained about golf carts. Minus the golf cart. Sup?]

[He's honestly glad to see Nanako and thankfully it's not a ride she asks about (because he'll feel guilty for not going with her) but it's a cotton candy stand. He kneels down carefully to her level and smiles.]

Are you familiar with this kind of treat? I'm afraid I may not.

[It looks fluffy...and colorful. Child halp.]

Open - Park Prompts
[ Yata had actually gone to training today with the intent of, y'know, training, but considering they hadn't even set up any of the equipment or weapons, that got nixed pretty fast. Then again, with how many people were still recovering, he guessed they thought they wouldn't have that big a turnout and couldn't really blame them. The Amusement Park on the other hand... He's never even heard of this place before, but after a moment of thought, he sends a few texts off to his home temple about it before deciding to give it a try.

While most of the day, he can be found sticking somewhat close to Fushimi - who is still obviously recovering from his time in the forest - he does on occasion wander away to get some food or try his hand at a game; he still has the damnedest luck at winning some of them and even comes out of his attempts with a few souvenirs when he's done, which he prompty hands off to nearby kids or the occasional familiar face he might spot in a nearby crowd. Also, the rides - the scarier looking, the better, even if some of them he ends up waiting to go on solo. he's not really interested in the mascots and touristy stuff like shops and photos - not on his own, anyway, although he could maybe be dragged into it if someone got stubborn about it. Oh, and he is sporting a ridiculous Capypa ear headband for most of the day; no, he doesn't want to talk about it.

Otherwise, he's here to enjoy himself and have a little bit of fun. After all, after the last few weeks they've had, they could all use a little of that... ]

Closed - For Saru
[ He'd been kind of meh about the whole theme park thing until he'd stopped to think about it. And then sent a text home to see if Saru wanted to get out of the apartment for day. While Saru had been being better about resting and getting his strength back ~~as opposed to their god~~, he still wasn't 100% and Yata wasn't even sure he'd feel up to a day out. But apparently he did and now here they were.

Having a date. At an Amusement Park. A capybara-themed amusement park, at that (He hadn't even known what that was, Saru had to google it and show him. He still thinks they're weird.)

But whatever, he's determined that Saru and him have fun today. So he's pushing all his guilty feelings away for the day in favor of making sure this is the best day. And so might drag his partner around a little enthusiastically - while still making sure not to tire him out too much (that's a hard balance, even for him).

Matching Capypa-ear headbands totally happen (although Saru somehow lands himself with the one with the feminine-looking bow to tell them apart), as do souvenir tshirts, although those are saved for later. At the moment, however, Yata had slipped them away to get them both a drink before reappearing a few minutes later, carrying a large plush Capypa as well, which he promptly deposits in Saru's arms. ]

[ It's okay, Aymeric, she happens to be an expert at sweets. Although you may be sorry about that...

For now, though, she just beams up at him, even happier now when she learns she can introduce him to something he's never gotten to try before. ]

I am! It's called cotton candy! You've never tried it before, Aymeric? It's really good! Uhh, if you like sweets, that is. Do you?

[ She knows Shun doesn't, so she thought she'd better ask first. ]

[Oh right, she has no idea about his candy stash or the fact that he can down large sugar filled drinks like it was nothing. But cotton candy is a new one and doesn't mind trying.]

I do not mind sweet things at all. It is good to try new things, even if we do not know anything of it to start.

[Really, all Fushimi wants to know is why they don't have same-sex couples headbands in the park yet. It's the twenty-first century. They may want to get on that.

(Yes, he's grumpy about the bow. Shut up.)

He looks up from his phone when Misaki returns, blinking at the Capypa plush now in his arms.]

Why?

[ But the bow is cute on you, Saru. He even found you a blue one. It could have been red?

...Kinda like he is right now as he sits down next to Saru and slurps on his drink. ]

Why not?

[ Shut up, Saru, it's for you. ]

There's no room in the bed.

[But he's taking it and even sort of hugging it. This is weird.]

Your cat likes to sleep on my face and Fuku takes up a quarter of the bed on her own.

[ And that's not even mentioning the fact that Yata himself sometimes sleeps fairly sloth-like and clingy. When he's not sprawled in all directions at once. ]

I didn't say you had to sleep with it. If you don't want it, I'll give it away.

[ Although his lips twitch when Saru takes it and wraps around it instead. Amused, he passes the drink over to him to share. ]

Too late, it's mine.

[He leans over and takes a sip from the straw.]

Or it is until the cats claim it.

Not gonna fight the cats over it, huh? [ He just grins, holding the drink still for him.

But he does flick him a worried glance after a moment, since Saru has been in bed with their pets for days, which this has reminded him of. ]

How are you feeling? Not too tired?

Tch, Fuku's claws are like daggers.

[So, no.]

I'm getting a little tired, but it's tolerable.

[ He still looks worried, because the day's only half over, but... ]

Should we go? Or are there things you'd like to do while we're here?

[ He'd been not-so-subtly eyeing a couple of the tamer rides that still looked pretty fun, but hadn't brought them up yet, unsure how Saru felt about any of that right now. ]

Tch, I'm not here for me. I'm here for you.

We can do whatever you want, so long as it isn't a rollercoaster.

A. The Great Escape - OTA but naming closed to Goku

[As an unnamed spirit and with the majority of the training equipment absent, there hadn't been much for Ayumu to do. After reading enough "From Ama" magazines for her to be able to plausibly claim she'd been studying, she snagged a couple of tickets for her and Lavi and headed out to Capypa Land.

This, it turns out, might not have been the best decision for an unnamed spirit like her to make. What she'd intended to be a fun, relaxing time for the two of them starts out as an unplanned stealth mission with her having to hide from the ayakashi her presence is beginning to attract.

Why does she make such stupid decisions?

Ayumu's so intent on evading hungry boogeymen and obnoxious insect ayakashi that she's not really watching where she's going in her haste to find a safer location. Her flight's cut short when she collides hard with whoever's in front of her, stumbling as the impact knocks her off-balance.

Good luck with the small gang of hungry boogeymen in hot pursuit of their next meal.]

B. Closed to Lavi

[Sometime after her new god's named her and ayakashi are no longer flocking to her, Ayumu ready to settle down on a bench for her date. She's got a brand new pair of Capypaears on along and a giant Capypa plushie sitting on her other side on the bench. She can use the rest and she's sure Lavi needs it as well. Without a word, Ayumu cuddles up to Lavi's side and rests her head against his shoulder, interlacing their fingers. It's been their way for a while and it is what is but it still feels nice and peaceful, especially after the stress of the earlier ayakashi evasion.]

How are you feeling?
